  1. Ok, so what you are saying is that they should get the same punishment as all the previous years of writing on the road which I believe was no punishment? I never heard of any kids getting arrested for that. Because it would seem that the same rule should apply to painting on government property whether it is a building or a road. If that is what you are implying then I disagree. What these kids did deserves harsher punishment, but not so harsh they are left for a wild frenzy on them while going through the legal system unprotected.
  2. So you are still sticking with you would not bail your kid out? Even if a court date and hearing was six months or more away? Then leave him to the courts without any representation at all? Because that to me is wrong... Sorry if I had your posts wrong, but I believe your original posts stated that your kid was on his own. ETA - I don't have any issue with HARD punishment, but leaving my kid to the system and trusting the right thing will be done is something I would not do.
  3. Tell her! This is a NEWS site after all! And quite frankly much like the Enquirer, not ever completely right but just enough facts to be dangerous!
  4. Pollen is the gateway to SUMMAHTIME!
  5. Oops, is that the $2 frozen pizza? If so I might have bought some. Not that I am too worried, my kids will eat anything!
  6. Um, a BAD decision is a BAD decision whether you knew the ramifications or not. Still a BAD decision. So how could that possibly irk you....
  7. Can't say that I blame him on that either... (Pretty sure Lowrider would be on his SPAM list too.... And if she wasn't she is now with all of her retirement yacky postings... The woman needs a hobby.... )
  8. Ok, let's just say that back in the days when some of us posted a lot, you hardly ever replied to my PM's and other said to quit doing it because you never replied to theirs either. So maybe it was just ignoring me and my crowd... Can't say I blame you for that...
  9. If it isn't the first time, then it would be a different story. I would be less willing to help, but it's hard to say what I would do. I honestly don't know, I hope I never find out!
  10. I shop at Kroger, Ingles, Publix, Wally World and now likely Aldi every week. I am not loyal at all to any one store. The only one inconvenient for me is Aldi, but I think I will do a once a week stop by when in Hiram to get the weekly essentials that we are need and are not brand specific on. We spent about $70 there this week because there were a lot of good prices but next week it won't be nearly as much for the essential items.
  11. I agree COMPLETELY, punishment is warranted and I would have asked the admins for them stand out there and clean up their mess during school hours (including drop off and pick up) for everyone to see in the jump suit with the lettering on back that they wear in jail (if they do this in YDC). ( I realize due to laws/insurance regulations this probably isn't possible, but I would have asked and then asked the YDC if they could bring the jump suit home).
  12. I do have to say that I was surprised to see some name brands, I thought they didn't do that?
  13. I agree and every parent should be having a dinner table discussion tonight with their kids on how one stupid move can have unimaginable consequences for a lifetime. Heck we will be having the talk with our 7 and 8 year old....
  14. Ok, the posts in the other thread REALLY amaze me with people saying they would let their kid sit in jail and not bail them out, I guess I am a horrible parent but I just think that is astounding. So here is the scenario. Your kid gets involved and caught vandalizing property. They are a kid that has never gotten into legal trouble before, done really good in school and are generally good all around kids. In this situation the damage is significant and they are facing felony charges, what would you do? I will tell you up front, #1 would be my choice and others seem to indicate that
  15. Y'all sure do take it personally when someone wants to leave don't you... I agree with CE, it is a very reasonable request and logical to post it because Pubby rarely responds to messages sent, so sometimes it is the only way to get the info....
  16. We went about 11:30 Sunday because I told my wife I wanted to beat the Baptists there... Apparently it worked because we were in and out in about 30 minutes and while there were people there it wasn't horribly crowded. So far we have been pleased with what we have tried (strawberries, nilla wafers, fig newtons, sub rolls, etc).
  17. It's hard to say what I would do, but I suspect I would start with selling every single possession they own for whatever I could get, especially if they had a car. They would be on a lockdown that would make jail look like a vacation and they would be working every single minute to reimburse me for what I spent to help them. They would also be serving community service to the place they harmed in a much larger amount than any judge would give plus they would make VERY public apologies to everyone within the Paulding Co school system. That would be a START to the punishment.
  18. So you are saying if YOUR kids screw up then you are going to let them "learn a lesson" by not hiring a lawyer to lessen the punishment/charges? I highly doubt that.... I believe they should be punished but I also know if it was my kid, I would do what I could to lessen the legal punishment and deal with it myself. Call me a horrible parent, or whatever, but I find it hard to believe you wouldn't do the same thing. And don't make the mistake of saying "it won't happen to me". My kids are still very young, but in the event they make a stupid move, I will be there. ETA - I would hold my k
  19. I would guess that most are self insured, partially self insured or have huge deductibles which means high out of pocket expenses and the costs to the facility will come first, supplies last in most cases.
