Suv plows into Auto Zone store
its mr sarcastic to you replied to LPPT's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I don't think this is at all new. I remember thirty years ago sitting in the restaurant my Mom worked and a woman thought she had her car in reverse but it was in drive and she went right into the side of the building. You get more information faster now, but doesn't mean it hasn't been occuring more frequently now.... -
Don't sweat it, this is p.com after all, land of spouting off aimlessly, ESPECIALLY Lady Raider and Lowrider... They are the worst....
-
Um, thanks, but I didn't die, I just went to the hospital...

Wowsa! -
Exactamundo, The question in post one was easily taken in a much different way than when it was properly explained. But you are kinda grouchy a lot so I see why she jumped on ya....

I don't know what the laws are but what the SS office told you sounds fair. Good luck on finding your answer.

But again, how do you pay a bill when you don't know the amount and the company isn't providing it? Do you just guess? I could understand if it was a set service with $299 advertised then yes, go ahead and pay but to say that the company bears no responsibility to bill you, just pay it. That boggles the mind....
-
What a crock.... First of all, how in the world would you even know what to pay? It's not like there is a page with the rate you need to pay. What are you supposed to do? Guess? Second, I have insurance and met my deductible already so I am sure they are fully prepared to pay the bill, but guess what. They are NOT going to do it without a bill. And if you think I am going to randomly write a check for an unknown amount instead of them doing their job after several phone calls then well.... your parents should have raised you with just a tad more common sense than that. I don't see how

Ooma, Majic Jack or Vonage?
its mr sarcastic to you replied to its mr sarcastic to you's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Thanks. I did call ATT and tell them to switch us back to a regular land line so that would make unplugging the phone service easier. We will have to keep their service on for 30 days and then cancel. But we definitely want to use the jacks throughout the house without messing up the Uverse internet. I will print the pictures you post and keep them for reference once the land line is connected and I can unplug the outside service and plug the Ooma in to get service through the jacks. Thanks for everyone's advice! Oh we also got a Roku last night for one of our kids and they don't want -
Ooma, Majic Jack or Vonage?

I see how to do that if we had the regular box, but all of our stuff is connected in the Uverse box. It appears that if we disconnect the line we disconnect the internet. I will keep searching but if anyone knows the answer, HALP! I am actually thinking of calling ATT and having them change my phone back to a regular line, then having Ooma port the number and disconnect it. That would make it easy enough to do what you said. Or I could just just call and see if the tech would just do the disconnection for me and pay him... UGH, I hate technology!! -
Ooma, Majic Jack or Vonage?

OK, I bought the Ooma unit on the way home. It's up and running and sounds just like a regular line so far, so we will give a shot this week. I do have a question about the regular lines though. How do we get the Modem you mentioned Paulding Yankee? ETA - We have uverse so it appears if we disconnect the phone line then it kills our DSL too, so not sure if this means we can or can't do it. -

Thanks, reading it now.... -
I am about five days out from my uverse contract end and while I am happy with it I don't see paying for the phone service, I NEVER touch the home phone hardly. Both my wife and I use our cell for almost anything. So the change will just affect the kids! LOL Concerns/Understanding of System: 1. If you have it, are you pleased with it. 2. I am leaning towards Ooma, any concerns? 3. I don't care about the no land line if power is out, we will use our cells. 4. We do have a fax, but it pretty much rarely used and if used it is pretty much mostly outgoing. Ooma website says this

I still can't believe they don't just eliminate the option for a cashier to handle anything and make it like the self check out lines. You put your money in and the machine gives the change back.... Better than waiting on some goofball to take off their shoes when they ran out of fingers to count on...

A lot of the stay at home Mom's are probably behind the whole push for shorter summers! Amazing how they say they want to stay home to be with the kids but after a week want their arse's back in school!
-
Yeah, but do they know that you are now the competition?

Tell her to be sure to explain to the owner that she understands her rights and if he violates them then she will see him in court. If he thinks she is a pushover he will treat her as one....
-
Yeah, he would have to be the most ignorant property manager on earth to pull a stunt like that....
-
Nope, saw it, didn't make a difference. Would still beat the sheeze out of him....

I agree completely.... I don't have a clue how I would react. I too would hope for no punishment but if I did get it for stopping someone from hurting my kid any more than they already have then I would be ok with that too. The tough part is that even if minimal charges are filed then the person has to pay sometimes tens of thousands of dollars proving what he did was in a fit of rage and even then a jury could put them away. Some people just can't do that and leave themselves at the mercy of the court system. SCARY!

I thought you stayed outside now and didn't pay attention to tv.... -
The homeowner will have to file and eviction, wait for the response and then wait for a court date if the person responds. Then the judge will make a decision and about seven days or so from that the writ will be available and then it has to go to the sherriff's office to schedule the eviction. It's not a short process. Typically it runs through in about 60 days.

This is exactly why I don't pay attention to these studies.... Y'all watch, one day they will say Chicken McNuggets are the miracle drug and I will be happily skipping into my 90's while all of you are trying to catch up with me in your Rascal....

But given the number of people I speak to with the same problem as I have which is having to constantly ask for a bill I highly doubt that is the only reason. I am not downing the guy, I still haven't made my decision, but it is a legitimate concern.
