I am not a realtor or broker, but you just google the Georgia Real Estate Commission and the info is on their site. Check under "request an investigation". If you bought your car in 2012 and paid sales tax then it is a no brainer to opt in. You don't have to pay any additional taxes nor will you get a refund back to the 6.5% rate. If someone buys after March 2013 then they pay the lower rate, you don't get that option. Nor does anyone get the option of paying 7% and paying the birthday tax after March, the 6.5 is the only rate available at that point. But you do get a much lower tag bill each year if you opt in. So on a car like yours, instead of paying $300 a year or so for a tag it will be in the $20 range. You absolutely DO want to opt

I agree, unless it was a high end one, you might as well replace it. Dynex is not going to be worth the repair costs... TV's for the most part are disposable now, something goes wrong, trash it and buy a new one....

Why can't you get her insurance company? Did the police not list it? If not, have them find out where she is.... I have never heard of anyone having to call the person who hit them to get things rolling. When it happened to me I just called the insurance company on the police report and all was handled from there....

Some are worth it and people are successful but some banks are notorious for pulling the rug from under people, Bank of America is an example. If your loan is with them I would say you might want to consider other options.
