OK...I need to hear from you experienced owners out there. I have need to buy a 4-wheeler-ATV-or whatever to get access to some of my property. I have ridden bikes for years but confess I know nothing about the quality/durability of the various ATV's. I am looking for at least a 300cc and would prefer 4-wheel drive but not absolutely necessary. I don't want to buy a new one and need to keep the cost around $2,500-$3K. I am leaning toward a Honda, but would like to hear your experience with other brands...I will not be taking it off-road, across power lines, racing etc...I just ne

Lived there for 22 years...Fought for a traffic light for years.... Widening the intersection helped a bit but left turning traffic onto Senator is a real issue, especially when school is in session. Also traveling south, you can't see the oncoming traffic beyond the cars waiting to turn. I was hoping they would build the new bridge with a curve in the road to slow NB traffic a bit...

It won't help unless they include a left turn signal for NB Bakers Bridge Rd traffic...

Can you tell a difference? -Speaker cables
quicksilver replied to afriendlygeek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'll bet that 10 out of 10 can't tell. Look it's simple basic electronic theory. I have seen these so-called high quality audio cables...some even have arrows on them showing which way to hook them up...as if the sound i.e. electrons will only flow in one direction. High priced audio cables are sold so that idiots can try to impress their uneducated friends. Buy good quality cable, and don't fall into the trap of paying outrageous prices for large cables with gold plated connectors. Trust me, with the same given system, you cannot tell the difference between cable that costs -
Wasn't the reason that Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem in the first place, because of a census and to pay taxes to old King Augustus? I seem to remember that from my childhood Bible classes? Luke Chapter 2 I believe.... Folks been taxed for a looooong time!!

Are you that used to being right....EVEN WHEN YOU ARE SO OBVIOUSLY WRONG?? Muddy conditions had a significantly lower risk of breakdown compared to fast tracks. Yep, the facts don't matter with you do they...LOL-LOL-LOL-LOL

OK Sistah' You asked for it: Here are the facts based upon my sources...NY Racing Association Two retrospective studies of racing injuries at The New York Racing Association (NYRA) tracks are reviewed for significant risk factors. A greater fracture incidence was reported on dirt surfaces. Muddy conditions had a significantly lower risk of breakdown compared to fast tracks. Most catastrophic injuries occur on fast tracks, in turns and during the stretch run to the finish. According to statistics released in April, catastrophic injuries on dirt tracks have risen,

He's not the Owner but a Trainer... Todd Pletcher He scratched the early favorite: Eskendereya due to a nagging injury. He has 4 horses entered in the race today: Devil May Care Super Saver Discreetly Mine Mission Impazible Devil May Care is the only Philly (female) in the race.

Not trying to "Discredit you" Just stating where your 'Opinion' is in ERROR...CUTIE-PIE... THE NEW SYNTHETIC TRACK SURFACES, FIRST USED AT KEENELAND (My Home Track)ACTUALLY HELP WITH INJURIES AND ALSO DRAINS WATER MUCH BETTER THAN DIRT... Your comment would be approprtiate for "Turf' surfaces...that is precisely why they are not running any turf races at Churchill today! Don't let your future comments dig the hole you're already in any deeper...you might need a ladder....
-
IF You have such a HUGE BACKGROUND in the "Horse Industry" then why would you make such a rediculous statement??? Sloppy track conditions actually enhance the safety of the race especially on synthetic surfaces...I was working in racing before your folks even thought of birthing you..Kiddo! Maybe someone else will believe your misinformed statements...just don't pretend to be an 'expert'...
-
Obviously you do not know much about horse racing!

This was as of Noon today: Sloppy Track TRACK CONDITIONS WILL IMPROVE AS THE DAY PROGRESSES!! LOUISVILLE, Ky. Get ready for the Trudge for the Roses. Rain pummeled Churchill Downs early Saturday, turning the historic track into a soggy mess for the Kentucky Derby, the latest wild card in a week full of them. Heavy rains postponed early morning workouts Saturday, but all 20 Kentucky Derby horses were still expected to start. Trainers opted to trot their Derby hopefuls inside their barns instead. Though the weather is wreaking havoc on the Derby undercard, it's unlikely any

Pubby, Thanks for clearing that up....My Bad for not doing more research. I guess that I am just too sensitive to continual spelling errors...I grew up in a time when this just didn't happen...Now it seems rampant...I see misused words in print constantly...even in the headlines and especially those scrolling messages below the news on Fox and others. I must be getting old and less tolerant of those who do not take their jobs seriously, or perhaps it is a sign of Public Education! As you know I have been ragging on the Airport issue for several days...it just seems to be such a -

Wonder who proof read this story before it was released? "While there will no air show, Swafford said planes will probably be landing and taking off during the day “if the weather is good." Failure of a newspaper to proof-read copy is just the last resort in a county where ignorance runs rampant among the elected politicians and the newspaper.... So much for a newspaper that you can walk out of the circulation of in about an hour. -
