  1. Just make sure if he loves the sport, to keep playing. Remind him that Michael Jordan didn't make his high school basketball team in his first year. Yep, the greatest Basketball player of all time got cut from his highschool team. He didn't give up, he kept on and became the best. Look it up, it's true AND great motivation.
  2. Why would you want to move to LA and pay those high taxes? I don't get the need for a new stadium. If I did, I don't see the need for a retractable roof or dome. This is football, in Atlanta! We aren't talking about baseball in Seattle rain, Minnesota snow, etc. Forcing tax payers to buy an unwarranted stadium is crazy. Those loyal fans who purchase season will see a HUGE increase in prices as well. I am a huge Falcons and I say no to a new dome unless it is paid in FULL without ANY tax increase.
  3. Anything fast, since for some reason we thought it was always better to go as fast as you can...even if you can't stop!
  4. If you have 12K+ posts and 1 bullet, I'd say you're doing pretty good
  5. Maybe the owner(s) want to gear more towards adults then children?
  6. Make sure to check your skimmer on a regular basis, it will get full of leaves and pine straw and burn up the motor. Take water samples to the pool store to have them check it to see what to add, unless you do it all yourself. No cut off shorts in the pool. The strings will get in the skimmer and filter. I liked having a timer of my motor to turn on and off when I wanted it to. It came in handy for me since I kept mine up all year round. I had it run during the sunny/hot part of day in summer and cold night during winter.
  7. After thinking more on the subject....Now that you know the establishment offers beer, if you now choose not to go, so be it. Some may choose to go because they sell, so may choose not too. I'm sure the owner's realized that when weighing their options. I'm sure the County did as well when weighing whether to allow them to serve. If they are within their rights to sell, fine with me. They sell alcohol, you have the choice to pay to get in and skate or to stay away. Your choice. Doesn't bother me.
  8. I have mixed feelings here. I do think it is about the responsibilty and accountability of the drinker, not the venue. But, it is nice to have a place to take kids to where you don't have to worry about adults getting out of hand. They obiously could come in drunk, but with this they can now continue to drink. I have been to Disney and enjoyed a cold beer. I have been to Chuck E Cheese and didn't. I am on the fence on the skating rink. Imagine half lit Big Tony rolling around the rink and little Timmy buzz over and cut off Big Tony. Boom, no more little Timmy.
  9. I was actually one of the lucky ones who found work after being laid off twice from the private sector. A buddy of mine, who is on here a lot has been looking for YEARS to find work in the industry. Another Civil Engineer is currenly a cashier. So try telling those that all the jobs have been regained. Try telling the construction workers still out of work. There are MANY out of work.
  10. mmmm k.... I would say WE were better off 10 years ago when WE had jobs. When WE could afford to put gas in our vehicles.
  11. In case you haven't noticed Arthur, a lot of the folks on this board make a day of picking everything apart and try to argue everything. I guess it brings them joy. If you are truely looking to better this great Nation, good luck and God bless.
  12. ummm....WHO is better than they were 10 years ago?? Maybe China since we owe them LOTS of debt.
  13. Yep, I'm ready to start up some veggie growing too!
  14. We have had 2 newly designed apartment complexes, one has installed their E&S BMPs and the other hasn't broken ground yet. No "new" subdivisions. We have had 2 subdivisions start back up that had infrastructure in with no houses. One of the two have closed on a few and have several being built now, the other is working to bring everything up to compliance so they can start building.
  15. If by "going strong", you mean in debt, than okay. Not as much debt as US, but they are in debt too. "The British public debt is the money borrowed by the Government of the United Kingdom at any one time through the issue of securities by the British Treasury and other government agencies. As of Q1 2012 the national debt amounted to £1,278.2 billion, or 86.8% of total GDP. [2] The annual cost of servicing the public debt amounts to around £43bn, or roughly 3% of GDP. This is roughly the same size as the British defence budget. Due to the Government's significant budget deficit, whi
  16. I remember my bus being late, early, there were times I wasn't sure if it came at all. What did we do, get out there early and when it came, we got on. Riding the bus is a Privilege, not a Right.
  17. I see new homes built daily where I work. Not as high as it was where there were new subdivions being designed weekly, but they are building on the lots that have been sitting.
  18. I've never been, would love to. I have heard the Canada side is better, but haven't seen it for myself.
  19. I have been to Cloudland Canyon and had a great time. The camp sites we were in were not as "secluded" as some other camping sites, but they were nice and had the hook ups, bathrooms, and all. There were about eleventy-billion stairs to climb up and down to get to the falls. If you cannot do stairs well, seeing the falls may not be a good option. We did some shorter hikes and a long hike. In all, we enjoyed our time there. Great views. We like FDR State Park in Pine Mountain. Some hiking at FDR and nearby Pine Mountain trails as well. We like the camp sites, small lake and closer to
  20. this is key! I heard that too...if he talked about meeting her, then he was in on it. I also heard of a Cardinal player knowing her..not sure what to believe. Either way, he got simpathy, although some warranted since his grandmother REALLY died. He did get several awards and was a Heisman finalist...when I don't think he was even the best Linebacker. (Jarvis Jones)
  21. Amen brotha! I agree 110% You want to lose that one, well I want you to lose that as well...Go Falcons!
  22. Next time I need to find out anything or verify something, I will just check with you. It's happened before and it will happen again.
