  1. Anybody watching the game today? It starts at 1:00...............
  2. I want to see American Hustle, I need to take in a good movie. I don't really watch any movies on TV, (except the Godfather, it was on the other day, all 3. I know, I know.), and I don't DVR. Right now I'm watching the History Channel, The History of Us All. I love history.
  3. I've used Hardy now for 4 Fords. I've always been pleased. Got lots of discounts and the paperwork said exactly what the deal was. No back and forth and treated with respect. In and out in 45 minutes with a new car. Never hurts to try.
  4. I guess I've been fortunate. I have a Frigidaire dishwasher that has been great. The house came with Frigidaire stove, microwave and diswasher. Stainless and high end, although not top of the line. They're 8 years old now and my dishwasher still works great. All I do is rinse them off and put them in and lock the door. Sometimes I don't wash except every 2-3 days, depending on if I cook or not and they always come out spotless. I always hand wash my pots and pans. That's my hang up with a dishwasher. I just feel better hand washing those things.
  5. I should have. That's a mighty fine tight end. LOL
  6. The only thing I would give up is my microwave. I would miss it, but I want to keep everything else. Who the hell wants to scrub clothes on the washboard with lye, walk to the spring to get water and build a fire to heat it and cook? Not me. My granny did that.
  7. I am SO going to miss watching him play, and I wanted him to get that Super Bowl ring as bad as he did. You did a great job Tony, have a great time in your retirement! Tony Gonzalez ready to retire _ almost By GEORGE HENRY 3 hours ago FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — Tony Gonzalez is having a harder time saying goodbye to the NFL than he imagined. As he prepares to host 40 family members and friends in Atlanta's season finale, Gonzalez sounds as if he isn't entirely ready to walk away. When the Fal

  9. I think they suffered equally. Each was removed from their homeland and their families torn apart. They each experienced unimaginable loss, suffering and death. I would love a Native American holiday because I would celebrate it. I'm still trying to get my grandson into a Pow Wow in Cherokee, NC.
  10. I know that's right. I go the old way into Powder Springs, down the old 278 and it's 45 all the way, then drops at the Post Office to 35 and then through town it's 25. And they are waiting on you.
  11. Oh Lawd have mercy, did you have to go there.............................. I don't think this will end well.
  12. We got a 60" smart TV back in October at a really good sale price, so that was "our" Christmas. And I'm happy with that.
  13. We spent less and mine was cash. We're spending less as we get older.
  14. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A BLESSED DAY TODAY!! ENJOY YOUR FAMILIES!

  19. I looked up the recipe and Paula calls it her Aunt Peggy's sweet potato souffle.............which happens to be the same recipe I got from an aunt about 40 years ago. We southern cooks are the
  20. I'm glad you mentioned that, I was going to use an egg. The Pioneer Woman and Alton Brown's calls for one egg, tempered. That's what creates the fluffiness and lightness.
  21. OMG! That just made me hungry. Thanks so much Blondie, that's the one I want to use and I'll get the Boar's Head cheese. It's all in the flavor of the cheese.
  22. We always do our big dinner Christmas Eve and open the gifts. That way Christmas day is for the grandkids and Santa and I don't do anything, except eat leftovers! I bought a HUGE Figi tray this year just to snack on Christmas day. New Year's will be collards, YUM!
  23. We're doing sugar cookies tomorrow with all the glitter and candy and frosting! The little ones have to have cookies for Santa!! ETA: We're also doing the salt/flour/water hand print and I'm painting them for decorations.
