  2. And don't forget the wind chill.................Lawd I'm dreading it, I HATE cold weather, especially COLD weather. That's why I live no further north than I do. Hell, if I could, I would've left a couple of days ago for the Keys and stayed until it was over. One good thing though, the days are getting longer
  3. We're not alone........................ I just read this on Yahoo! News Reports of UFO Sightings Across California By Dina Abou Salem Dina Abou Salem Posts By Dina Abou Salem | ABC News Blogs – 7 hours ago Federal authorities said today there has been no "unusual flight activity" in California despite a flurry of reports by civilians in several cities who believe they saw strange lights in the sky on New Years morning. "I seen like six bright orange colored lights," Kaye Pinlac of Stockton told ABCNews affiliate News 10. "They were almos
  4. That's exactly why we need to get the hell out of Afghanistan and we should have never been there in the first place. JMHO. And I'm not surprised one of the countries is in Africa, I expected all 3 to be in Africa. Africa is probably the most corrupt continent.
  5. I guess I am too. I used bacon grease for my collards, black eyed peas and my cornbread. Normally I use canola oil but once in while doesn't hurt
  6. And I want an Olive Garden and a Red Lobster! So I can have something good to eat when I get off that small commuter plane that just brought me home from the Keys...........
  7. I had another friend at work and she was blonde. She couldn't stand any hair at all and she did her whole face and her arms and everything else. It actually looked kinda shiney and funny. She used a depilatory.
  8. Oh, get you one of those lighted 10X mirrors and you will see EVERYTHING! And yes, I have to powder in some eyebrows if I want any. I use a taupe eyeshadow. Besides being light brown/ blonde, they're just GONE!
  9. Me either!! I'm blonde so thank god it's always been fine, but now it's very, very sparse. I might shave every couple of months! BUT, I have this fine blonde fuzz on the side of my cheeks and my moustache is blonde. I've thought about removing it, but then I'll have to keep doing it and will it grown back dark? At least now it's blonde fuzz and you only see it in if the light hits it just right. Would you remove it or keep it? Thank GAWD, at least I don't have to shave my face like some women I've seen. Especially women of color. I had a few friends when I was still

  14. As far as her heart beating on its own, I don't know, but I just read this: Jahi underwent a tonsillectomy and related procedures at Children's Hospital on Dec. 9 to treat sleep apnea. Her family said she went into cardiac arrest after she started coughing up blood in the recovery room. She was declared brain dead three days later. The hospital then moved to take her off the machines that are keeping her heart and lungs going a few days before Christmas. Would her heart continue to beat if she were removed from the ventilator?
  15. WHOO HOO!!!!!! We've got a lot of nice fireworks in my neighborhood!
  16. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! My neighborhood is full of mighty fine fireworks. A lot of folks went to Aladamnbama!! LOL
  17. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE AND HAVE A BLESSED ONE!!
  18. There was a similar situation with my MIL about 13 years ago. She had suffered and was sick for a long time. She went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital and put on life support. The family was going to have to make the agonizing decision of removing her from life support. I went to see her. When my daughter and I walked in, her condition really took me back. She was in agony. She was on life support and in pain. I told my daughter in no uncertain terms to never, ever do that to me. It was awful. Of course the children did not want to let her go, but they all met with
  19. Terry Schiavo was in a Persistent Vegetative State. This young girl has been declared brain dead. Two different issues, however the same outcome, neither will get better. I wouldn't want to be kept on life support in either situation and I wouldn't keep a loved one of mine artificially alive in either situation. The fact is when all artificial measures are taken away, the person passes. Let nature take its course. I know that sounds cruel, but I just couldn't/wouldn't do it to a loved one just to "keep them here". And I don't want it done to me. I have a directive.
  20. Pretty damn good girlie! And you're right. Isolation and removal of the support system is the key.
  21. No Eddie, I think you're older but I'm in my early sixties and I love the beach. Always have. If I could, I would be in south FLORIDA tonight where it is warm, walking on the beach and I would be out in the sun tomorrow. Letting the sun bake my tired old bones. You have a good time at Crystal River in a few days.
  22. A decision was made today at 5:00, to delay. It has been delayed until January 7th. The mother insists that as long as the heart is beating, she is alive. She says she will get better and come back. I feel bad for the family, but even their attorney needs to give them a reality check. And yeah, who's going to pay for years on life support and feeding tubes?
  23. You know you're old when all you want to do is sit your beach chair at the waters edge and let the water run over you and let the sun bake your tired old bones.
