My son is lactose intolerant, and my partner hates any bread that isn't artisan. I don't know what to buy!!!

I truly feel like the people being bullied are the new problem. People have been taught to tell their teacher, police, or someone else when something bad happens to them, and this causes a complete lack of self-reliance. When I was a kid I didn't have anyone to go to for help when someone was mean, I moved a lot, and I wore huge glasses. Thus, I was bullied constantly by entire packs of kids. I learned that charging head first into the melee and taking them all on hurt a lot less in the long run than trying to avoid them. I did it so much that I got really good at it, and people learne

It's pitiful, you're right. Growing up, my dad would say, "What are you going to do for me?" I now say the same to my kids.

Didn't know where this was until I read this. Thanks. Mental defect, alcohol, and/or ongoing violence almost certainly laid the groundwork with a cataclysmic event happening that left both people dead. Thank goodness they didn't have kids (for multiple reasons).

Do you go to more than 1 grocery store per week ?
Inconceivable replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Oh my goodness do I feel your pain! Seriously, I do most of the shopping because I do most of the cooking, but my partner has it in her head that she wants to cook now. Don't get me wrong, she's a fine cook, but she's a TERRIBLE shopper. Last week, we spent $160.00 at one store and had enough food for about three days. Then, she doesn't ever cook 70% of the things that she planned to cook. We either end up throwing everything away, or I combine this strange mixture of ingredients that I would never buy into some sort of dish that cannot be described but usually tastes good. I, too, ha -
Thanks for taking the time to write your answers mrshoward & surepip. Those descriptions pretty much answer my "why not?" I moved here two months ago for the same reasons. I understand that the area is more developed than it was when you made that decision, but it still seems quite rural and quiet to me. I can see the sky, stars at night, there aren't homeless people EVERYWHERE, neighbors wave, and I'm less concerned about my friends here being shot. I've built immunities to certain types of common sense and am a really good public speaker. I'll start a cult or something t

I think there would have to be light rail access for that to happen at all because ITP people almost never, ever leave the perimeter unless it's in a craft being operated by a person other than themselves. Connecting light rail won't happen anytime in most of our lifetimes because: 1. ATL is not the brightest bunch when it comes to mass-transit (they're busy trying to convert the city to biking, walking, & streetcars right now); 2. The line would have to go through Douglass & Cobb Counties. Basically, why would anyone drive an hour out here just to pay parking when they can hope o

I have no clue wtf you're talking about. It sounds like the crazy speak though. Begone demon spawn of the rhetoric devil! Your kind aren't welcome here. Right, I assumed that rail/air would be ideal for the manufacturing aspect, but the additional traffic that would undoubtedly come is certainly a factor. My partner asked me once, "Why do companies insist on growing even though they're already huge and supply plenty for their people? What is it that they want?" I wonder the same thing about trees. They're huge and have reproduced but continue to insist on growing into the si

I would like to have a discussion regarding airport commercialization without all the crazy people jabbering on about nonsense. I'll play the guy that lists random thoughts with no real outcome and hope that other people can have a reasonable conversation based on that. Maybe stradial can play the guy that makes jokes that are strangely on topic and actually add to the conversation. Or, maybe no one gives a crap and this will go no where. That's fine, too. No crazies allowed! You know who you are. Please do not participate in this thread. Begin: I've had people flying in spec

They're doing what I said they should do! That must mean it's an excellent idea. Good for them. -
I just assumed that if the dog tried to stop to crap anywhere other than the endpoint of the walk that the drone would continue on and strangle the dog, teaching it to only go in his own yard. That's not part of the plan?
-
Well, it had the dog walking down the middle of the street so maybe the issue will resolve itself pretty quickly.

Didn't that guy run over his wife?

It's so cold in the D. Murkin and doing time is all that's on their mind according to YouTube.

I never lived there, but I know a lot of people that did/do. 100% of the people have told me that it's because Atlanta revamped Buckhead and essentially relocated almost all government housing tenants to newly built low-income housing in Clayton County. I've never even heard the airport growth mentioned when someone explains what went awry there until now. Seems convenient...

You guys don't like fire trucks now either?!

I'm with you. This whole "Delta Money vs. Propeller Money" is degrading the real issue. Honestly, I don't know enough about what the airport expansion itself is all about to have a real opinion, but I'm sure that I don't give a rats toot about either Delta or Propeller and what they do with their money. What is concerning is the issue of government secrecy. However, I'm even starting to have concerns with the validity of that aspect because it seems that some people actually are/were aware of the issue before it was an issue. How did they know if no one else did? Were they given th

I think I remember them saying as often as every 18 months when I served last year in Fulton County.

Oh, right. We're saying the same thing. You can just call me Captain Redundancy.

In my mind, this is one of the terrible perceptions that our population allows to continue and is a direct cause of the type of inappropriate behavior that seems to be all over this issue. We, the people, are not customers of the company; we are the board. Elected officials work for us. We're the bosses, and it's their job to do what the majority of us say we think is proper. They should have no independent thought on any subject and should bow exclusively to the wishes of the majority of their constituents, mediating a compromise between two equally opposing ideas when possible. It's not

If you can make your appointments to be either first in the morning or first after lunch then they haven't had any patients to back up the schedule ahead of you. The later after either of these times = the longer you will usually wait (unless they've had a bunch of cancellations/no-shows). -
S/O HOA's (Home Owner's Associations)

I shall justify each of these valid points in order: 10. Welcome to the real world, kids. You'll get to know the FDA when you're an adult and think that selling hotdogs at the park is okay too. 9. We're already putting up with all the construction noise...your checkered shingle idea that you thought you could slide by under the guise of disaster is ill-received. 8. No one needs a fence. They're barbaric and unsavory. I've watched enough war movies to know that unkempt hedges lead to a bad day. 7. Ever hear of seat belt laws? It's like that. 6. If you drive an ice cream t -

I just check with the HOA before doing anything on the outside. I don't really care what color my roof is as long as it doesn't leak, and they haven't given me any flak about my other requests yet. I've never asked to stain my porch purple or put up a mailbox on which the receptacle is a chicken's rear, mind you. I see both sides: It's my house, I can do what I want until someone else is paying for it; but I don't want my neighbor's house to be a dump, lower my property value, and irritate the crap outta me every time I walk outside. If more people participated in the process (attend -

I tried that, but she waited until we were at an event with a bunch of my clients and snitched me out to them. The one group of people that I couldn't refuse...she's smart like that. She was so happy that she looked like a kid that had been given an energy drink and a bunch of Robitussin. I can't dance with her too much because I'm pretty sure she permanently loses five IQ points each time from dopamine overload.
