1. What a mess with no end in sight.Deferred Action comes with an Employment Authorization Card. A social security number comes with the Employment Authorization Card. Unless the GA license application changes to specifically ask "Are you on Deferred Action?", there is no way to differentiate between someone who has Legal Permanent Residency and Deferred Action.
2. I don't get how this thread isn't "passive-aggressive"... was the question "What does the Violency in your username mean" via email to him direct not an option?
3. Uhh, there is already a law for this... "Impeding the flow of traffic", and driving in the left lane like that falls under it. If its not enforced now, why would they assume it'll be enforced later?
4. I'm confused... you think we should have kept all that stuff over there and maintained it/kept it up to status all these years? Along with the same manning?!
5.

Its a protected left turn, as opposed to previously when you had to battle your way across on-coming traffic to turn left onto 278. I am thanking the overhead as well, I drove it yesterday and this morning to work, VERY convenient... love it!
6.

It's a "Winter Storm Watch"... I'll take it seriously when it becomes a "Winter Storm Warning". Same as two weeks ago. Same as when a "Tornado Watch" is declared, as opposed to a "Tornado Warning". It's a "be advised"... not a "take action now!" That said, I do not want to see the decision-makers overreacting just to make up for the lack of action last time.
7. I geared up and walked 7 miles round-trip to Kroger on Ridge Road. It was open, parking lot was full, there were lines. Things I never thought I would do in GA, I can mark that off the list!
8. I just drove from County Services Parkway, down Powder Springs Road (its very bad trying to get up that hill before you get to Powder Springs), right onto 278, left onto 92, down to Ridge Rd, right onto Waters Rd. The City of Hiram did an excellent job of making the hill over the train tracks in the center of Hiram no problem to get up and over at this point. That drive takes me 30 minutes normally, it only took 70 min just now... that was at 20mph max with minimal traffic and being able to use the road to my advantage (using the snow for traction). Stay home if you can please. And stay aw
9. There was a thread about it... Thread
10. He doesn't answer to the voters technically, he is contracted by the BOC. And he was just re-upped until 2017. Hankerson extended until 2017 "David Hankerson, Cobb County’s manager since 1993, signed a new contract in November that gives him an additional three years to run county operations — through 2017. The contract keeps in place all elements from Hankerson’s last contract renewal in 2011. He makes $246,923 a year and is provided with a $7,200 annual travel allowance. He is not provided with a county car."
11. His "scathing" resignation letter is on the MDJ website today (along with the story) and is worth reading MDJ link
12. Click the link on page 1... "Anticipated completion date is January 2014." Actually, here I'll make it easier East Hiram Parkway Project
13. That awesome Matt Damon/Jodie Foster future-istic movie came out on PPV last week, the name of it slips my mind tho...
14. Leaving alcohol for the garbage man?! This day and age? You must know him/them well, at least well enough to know they are of age... that's the last thing I would want, a ticket for inadvertently supplying a minor.
15. I'm not knocking it obviously because its anyone's choice to do what they want with their money, however the thought of tipping (on top of that, a lot of people tipping) their garbage service is so foreign to me...
16. An outsider's opinion on this thread.... Beach Bum, that's all fine and dandy, had you not put "You won't believe what I saw today" in the thread subtitle. It reads like you expected everyone's jaw was going to drop and there would be backlash towards that group when everyone read what you witnessed at the parade. Poor choice of words to follow up "In My Opinion" in the thread title, IMO. And you are an adult able to fight your own battles, correct? I saw you respectfully declined to get into it with the first person who objected to your opinion, kudos to you, however not to L
17. "So why are both the Falcons and Braves getting new stadiums? Two reasons. And neither of the reasons involve location or a new stadium needed to play and compete better." Neither involves location or new stadium?!? Turner Field was not built for the Braves, it was built for the Olympics and then modified into a baseball stadium/rented to the Braves after that, no? If I'm a business owner and my home office is in a crappy area where majority of my customers were traveling to get to me... it only makes sense that I would eventually want to move to them so they come more often and spend
18. Spare me. It's a lawsuit, aka its one side's account of what supposedly happened and could ya know, actually be missing relevant facts!?! Just because the police department isn't commenting on a open investigation (which is normal, isn't it?), doesn't make any of this lawsuit any truer. I could be a crazy person with an agenda and file civil lawsuit tomorrow saying you butt raped me, it doesn't make it fact. As always with this site, guilty until proven innocent. On top of that, you use the phrase "total disregard for U.S. citizen's constitutional rights" but yet you just did the sam
19. There are people on here that knowledgeable of the subject so I'd like to ask... driving is a privilege and not a right, correct? If it was a checkpoint for pedestrians I can understand the comments made in this thread about civil liberties, rights, and detention... is there or is there not a gray area when its comes to driving and rights on the public roadways or is it the same as pedestrian?
