I have never witnessed one of these events but years ago I saw a magazine about dog fighting. Very gorey pictures of dogs missing ears, bloody fighting rings, horribly injured and disfigured dogs. It is illegal for a minor to drive a vehicle on public streets without a learners permit and/or without an adult in the car. This is an accident waiting to happen. I don't think it was done as punishment. The Military had to deal with the hand the politicians dealt them. Or we could just go back to the Draft. During WWII the men were in it for the duration.
