  1. I didn't think it was funny. I guess that makes me a tool.
  2. Oh they are getting ready for that......... Why the hottest new police car is a bomb-proof military SUV Facing a rise in mass shootings and incidents of terrorism, improving safety has become a top concern for police departments across the nation. But does that mean a state university really needs a bomb-proof, 13-ton SUV? It's not just the police department at Ohio State University. The Dallas County Sheriff's Office has taken delivery of its $600,000 bombproof fortress, along with another one delivered to Murfreesboro Police Department in Tennesse. And thanks to a Pentagon progra
  3. You should give up on tires and go into showbiz. Bada-bing, Bada-boom.
  4. So is this how the Republicans plan on governing ? By holding the country hostage and blackmailing the nation over every law they do not agree with. ? And what happens when they are in the majority and the Democrats decide turnabout is fair play ?
  5. The Republicans. They are trying to overturn a law or at least delay it until the odds are more in their favor. Putting the entire nation's economy at risk is not the way to govern a country.
  6. So it's just as I have suspected all along; size does matter !
  7. The Falcons are a lot like the month of March. Comes in like a Lion and goes out like a Lamb.
  8. It's hard to tell. In my neighborhood we have a strict policy of never speaking to each other.
  9. Well the Atlanta Falcons are now at 1-3. So it looks like if Tony Gonzalez wants to be on a Super Bowl team he will have to postpone his retirement yet another year. Either that or shop around for that Super Bowl ring at a New Orleans pawn shop.
  10. 'Hoppy' National Drink Beer Day Have you heard the news? When it comes to special holidays, September 28 is one of the best days of the year and Americans are ready to celebrate! http://www.examiner....-across-america
  11. AMENDMENT I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
  12. Senator Cruz reads Dr Seuss on Senate floor..... Oops wrong picture.....
  13. I can sympathise with your predicament. I won't give you a lot of worthless advice like some on this site who believe jobs are so plentiful if you want to work they are there just for the taking. But as one that's let's just say been around the block more than a few times and has been in your position more times than I care to remember never get dismayed or give up hope.[ Life can turn around on a dime ] In the meantime don't be too proud to take advantage of what is available . You paid for taxes when you worked and there's no shame in taking a little back in hard times.
  14. If you're making over 50k a year and you can't come up with 132 dollars to protect your family from sickness and disease it might be time to reexamine your lifestyle.
  15. Obamacare's average monthly cost across U.S.: $328 (Reuters) - Americans will pay an average premium of $328 monthly for a mid-tier health insurance plan when the Obamacare health exchanges open for enrollment next week, and most will qualify for government subsidies to lower that price, the federal government said on Wednesday HHS said the average price was 16 percent lower than its own projections on premiums. In addition, consumers who earn up to 400 percent of the federal poverty level, or $62,040 for a couple, will qualify for subsidies that will lower the price further. http://news
  16. Maybe doctors and hospitals should stop billing people 3 dollars for an aspirin. (?)
  17. That or your old company was just looking for an excuse to drop insurance for retirees.
  18. Look it up Sparky.... What does raising the debt ceiling accomplish? Despite some politicians' incorrect assertions, raising the debt ceiling does not give the government a "license to spend more." It simply lets Treasury borrow the money it needs to pay all U.S. bills in full and on time. Those bills are for services already performed and entitlement benefits already approved by Congress. In other words, it's a license to pay the bills the country incurs as a result of past decisions made by lawmakers from both parties over the years. Refusing to raise the debt ceiling is "not li
  19. I agree. Too bad Republicans didn't take the President's offer of 3 dollars of spending reduction for 1 in tax increases two years ago.
  20. First you have to recognize the purpose for raising the debt ceiling. It has nothing to do with new spending. It's to pay the bill for spending Congress has already approved and spent. Not raising the ceiling is like you not paying your Visa bill when the statement comes in. Maybe you shouldn't have bought all that stuff to begin with but now it's a little late for that. Now you have to decide if your going to pay the bill or risk ruining your credit. That is exactly what happened the last time the Republicans pulled this stunt and the Countries credit rating was downgraded.
  21. You may want to call it a recession. People that lost their homes and livelihood might want to disagree with that.
  22. Over the last twenty years about the only thing Republicans can take credit for are two wars and an economic depression..... If they manage to shut down the Federal government they will have to own it; and add it to their short list of accomplishments.
