  1. For that matter you would have to consider Edith Bolling Wilson, who actually ran the executive branch for a year and a half after Woodrow's stroke!!!
  2. I'm led to understand that this is all part of a major redesign to combat counterfeiting. Additional costs will be incurred to engrave the portrait which could take six months, which is a pittance to the overall costs of reproducing all 10 dollar bills. Additionally, it looks as though Harriet Tubman will be on the bill, as a national poll has been taken, see below "Lew offered no hints of whom he might choose, saying he first wanted to hear the views of the public. But the Women on 20s group conducted an Internet poll in which more than 600,000 votes were cast. Harriet Tubman, the Afr
  3. Okay then,,, how about Kate Hepburn or Shirley Temple Black..... Who would you put on the ten???
  4. I ran across a news article on Earthlink yesterday from AP about the fed redesigning the $10 dollar bill, and considering placing a woman's image on it. WASHINGTON (AP) — Alexander Hamilton, who has been featured on the $10 bill since 1929, is making way for a woman. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew is to officially announce Thursday that a redesign of the $10 will feature the first woman on the nation's paper money in more than a century. The plan is to decide which woman sometime this summer. The bill will have new security features to make it harder to counterfeit and will be unveiled in
  5. All I want to know is,,, what do they taste like??? How do you cook'em????? How many does it take to make 'Mess'??? TIA.
  6. I think it is the Georgia Department of Agriculture,,, start with them, and if they don't handle it, they should know who does.
  7. Kinda looks that way as the remaining eaglet stays out on a limb, but came down this morning when a parent brought a fish back. Interesting situation...
  8. What's frightening about this, is that someone in this country doesn't know about this by now, and that more the one person in the county was awake at 4 am!!!!! The point the Young Turks make is quite valid though,,, in America you should be able to go where ever you like, with as much of your money as you like, without government interference. That being said, the kid would have lost every last cent the second he stepped off the train in L.A. anyway,,, so if he gets any of it back, they did him a short term favor... Anyone with any business acumen would have put the money in a nation
  9. Check out the Berry College link, as one of the eaglets partially fledged yesterday. Apparently he was hopping up and down on a branch Saturday when the branch broke and he spent the night on a lower limb. Then yesterday morning he flew to an adjacent tree where he stayed, (and maybe still is). They say the fledge is not complete until he returns to the nest,,, so there is some type of drama going on at ye olde aerie.
  10. This pretty much means you'll probably be dealing with Wellstar. I would try to get someone to drive me to Piedmont, or maybe Erlanger in Chatanooga. Don't let the distance thing be a deciding factor. When your health is at stake, beg, borrow or steal whatever you need, and make restitution later. Good Luck!!!!!
  11. If you are unhappy with the "Local" cardio-vascular center, try checking out the Fuqua Heart Center at Piedmont. They should have someone on staff that does what you need, but their bedside manner is a total crap shoot. The surgeon that did my bypass there was outstanding with me, but others since have complained about his bedside, and the amount of time he spent with them. Like with most other things, when people find out what their talent is, the need for that service forces them to spread themselves around to the point of having to limit their time with each patient. Don't know if that wa
  12. 1 - Does anyone know if it is safe for goats to eat Poison Ivy? 2 - I've always heard that you need both goats and sheep. The goats eat Up, and the sheep eat Down. Together they will keep keep large yards looking like a park!!
  13. I was thinking more in the line of a bunch of Ray Stevens classics, as we drive around the county. Who knows, it could become a tourist attraction and draw motorists from all over the country,,, come to think of it, that's a bad idea,,, NEVER MIND!
  14. There are two in this country! One in California that plays 'The William Tell Overture', and one in Nevada that plays 'America the Beautiful'.
  15. Put a longer fuse on the stick of dynamite,,, some days they are deeper,,, don't know why!!!!
  16. Two words that will save your bacon... "ROAD TRIP"
  17. Yup,,, there's only a fuzzy tail between a Muskrat and a Squirrel, and you cut that off!!! I grew up in Michigan too, but we didn't eat any of the Muskrats we trapped.
  18. Maybe some of our local leaders, or their families, got busted and they're trying to keep it quiet!!!!!
  19. Halfway interesting side note... Californians will proudly tell you that every grape growing in France today, is a California grape! Something about a blight destroying the French grapes, and being replaced with cuttings from Californication which are immune to that particular blight. Although it is true that the soil the grape grows in has the greatest determination on the final product,,, it is still slightly tainted by the good ole USofA!!!!!! Take that you smelly frog buggers!!!!!!!!!
  20. I'm a little confused, as usual,,, The news blurb says they will place a 20 cent per gallon "Excise" tax on gasoline. There is already a 26.5 cent per gallon GA tax, along with an 18.4 cpg from the Fed. Does this mean that they will replace the 26.5 cpg with the 20 cpg, or jump the GA tax to 46.5 cpg????? That would give us the 4th highest gas tax in the nation, even higher than Californication????? It also espouses where the money will not go, but it doesn't really say where it will go,and for how long. Anyone know more about this?? If they had an actual plan with attainable goals t
  21. I want to say that none of them will take a paper wrapper anymore, because the automated sorting equipment tears them up so bad. I was wondering if they would ship an unboxed suitcase, and what they would charge?

I don't know about all of this "getting rid of DSL" they're talking about,,, in my latest phone bill is a sales pitch to bundle my phone and internet with 3.0 MB for an additional 14.95 a month. If they are getting rid of it, why are they selling it? My neighbor now has Uverse, but I'm 300 yards further down the road and can't get it. Comcrap refuses to run a line the 3/4 of a mile to my house,,, even if others sign on as well. I even offered to buy the cable and hang it myself, but they still declined. I have to gut it out with land line DSL for internet, and DISH for TV... Such a d
  23. I'd say it is doing an excellent job for which it was intended,,, driving your and Pubby's blood pressure through the roof!!!!!
