Have you ever heard of Kyle Kashuv? Should we listen to his views on the matter of how to make schools safer? Not everyone agrees with the David Hoggs of the world. Not even all students from the same school agree with him but you certainly hear more about him and other pro-gun control students than you do the other side. Speaking of David Hogg, maybe he should read "How to win friends and influence people" before doing interviews like this one. LANGUAGE WARNING YouTube video got removed. Here it is on Vimeo. https://vimeo.com/261400610

Are you OK with the fact that he's worried about the 1st amendment but couldn't care less about the 2nd? He has no idea what he's talking about. Sure he has the right to say whatever he thinks and I feel sorry for him and all his classmates for what they went through but that doesn't mean we should set policy based on his beliefs.

Here's a prime example of why we shouldn't make national policy based on the feelings of a bunch of high school kids. David Hogg (one of the most vocal students) is for more gun control laws for the entire country but he draws the line at students having to use clear backpacks. https://hotair.com/archives/2018/03/23/gun-control-activist-david-hogg-draws-line-clear-backpacks/

Bridge Collapse: Several Dead, Cars Trapped Underneath

Dashcam footage of collapse. -
They should feel safer in schools, despite school shootings, than in the car that got them to school. More will die in car accidents than school shootings. Most of these student protesters are for more gun control and/or banning guns and that tells me they aren't old enough to fully understand what they are advocating for.

Sorry if the discussion is too complicated for you.

You have reading comprehension problems. As RM pointed out earlier, this thread is about 'assault weapons' (rifles), not all firearms.
-
You're wrong. Look it up. Since you may need help doing the research: https://www.statista.com/statistics/195325/murder-victims-in-the-us-by-weapon-used/ https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2014/crime-in-the-u.s.-2014/tables/expanded-homicide-data/expanded_homicide_data_table_8_murder_victims_by_weapon_2010-2014.xls

It is a fact. Ignore the facts if you wish. So your goal is to ban guns, not save more lives. Got it.
-
More people are killed by knives, handguns, and blunt objects than rifles (and that doesn't even limit rifles to so called 'assault weapons'). Should we ban all knives, handguns, hammers, rocks, etc. too? Heck, even more people are killed by other's bare hands, feet, fists.
-
2 examples: 1. Target shooting 2. Home security
-
Wait...I'm confused. You don't want to take guns out of the general public's hands. But you do want the govt to get 'assault style' weapons out of the general public's hands. Which is it?
-
I haven't listened to Rush in 20 years. There were some posts either earlier in this thread or another with videos of some democrats proposing banning all guns.
-
Then you haven't been listening.
-
Does that school system allow teachers to have guns in school? If not, then how could he have a gun? Surely, if there were rules or laws against it, he would have obeyed those rules. Or just maybe he, like so many other unstable people or criminals, ignored the law and did whatever he wanted to do. Imagine that...
-
And if you remove so called (incorrectly) 'assault weapons', mass killers will simply move on to handguns, knives, trucks, etc. Where does blaming the tool end?
-
As a private company they have the right to set their policy on what to sell and to whom (well, unless they are a baker and don't want to bake a certain cake....). Some democrat politicians have made statements that they would like to ban all guns. They are smart enough to not say it often because they know most Americans don't agree but you can be certain that they believe it and would do it in a heartbeat if they could.

This one has good specs and is a good price. It comes with a SSD drive and good i5 CPU. I'd buy it and add 8GB RAM to push it to 12GB. Total cost should be under $500. http://www.microcenter.com/product/480851/Aspire_3_A315-51-580N_156_Laptop_Computer_-_Black

This may be beyond most folks but if you want to make a 'slow' laptop as fast as possible, replace the hard drive that comes with it with a solid state drive (SSD). Night and day difference in performance and SSD drives are cheap these days. However, note that many of the cheaper laptops aren't meant to be upgraded so you have to take the whole thing apart to get to the hard drive (in other words, not worth buying).

In a news release sent to Channel 2 Action News on Tuesday, police said they obtained a warrant and found two stolen guns, marijuana individually packaged and several smoking devices throughout most of the first-floor rooms. Individually packaged suspected cocaine and cocaine-related paraphernalia were also located upon initial contact with multiple subjects, the release said. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/ten-of-the-at-least-70-people-arrested-during-21st-birthday-party/674439253
