CONFUCIUS DIDN'T SAY Man who wants pretty nurse must be patient. Passionate kiss, like spider web, leads to undoing of fly. Squirrel who runs up woman's leg will not find nuts. Man who leaps off cliff jumps to conclusion. Man who runs in front of car gets tired; man who runs behind car gets exhausted. Man who eats many prunes gets good run for money. War does not determine who is right; it determines who is left. Man who fights with wife all day gets no piece at night. It takes many nails to build a crib, only one screw to fill it. Man who drives like he

Based on the title of this thread, are you calling out former member? -
Old ranch owner John farmed a small ranch in Montana. The Montana Wage and Hour Department claimed he was not paying proper wages to his workers and sent an agent out to interview him. 'I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them,' demanded the agent. 'Well,' replied old John, 'There's my ranch hand who's been with me for 3 years. I pay him $600 a week plus free room and board. The cook has been here for 18 months, and I pay her $500 a week plus free room and board. Then there's the half-wit who works about 18 hours every day and does about 90% of all the work around here

Awesome video.

CitizenCain's quote "It was terrible, we had to live like Poor People" is not in the article. So it looks like CitizenCain made that part up or was attempting to be funny.

It's Friday and it'll be a short work day. And my office is closed for the holiday on Monday so it's a long weekend.

Yep. This quote from the article is ominous:

No mention of their parents. I'm guessing the kids haven't benefited from a good family childhood.

I agree with most of this but calling the free phones "Obama phones" is wrong since the program started under Bush. -
The President Will Be In Atlanta On Thursday

He's looking at the current economic recovery. He might want to get a bigger magnifying glass. -
If the employer would do a good job at the pay they agreed to, they might still have a job. I do realize that if the store paid above minimum, it might be able to attract a better level of worker, but that would cause prices to rise.
-
Why just .10 more per hour? Why not $5 more per hour? Raise it .10 and then prices will rise to compensate. Then you have to raise it again due to inflation. Then you get more inflation. Repeat...
-
Why wait for 2027? Do it now.

Great points. The simple fact is that if you raise the cost of manufacturing a product or providing a service, the retail cost is going to go up. It's that simple. Raising the minimum wage will result in higher prices. Sure, some people will have more money to spend but they won't actually be able to buy more due to the higher prices. I believe that there shouldn't be a minimum wage. If you and an employer agree on a certain wage for a certain job then why should the govt get involved. It's none of their business.

A succinct response from Pubby...you are asking for the impossible.

It also shows that the economy isn't growing at a rate we need to substantially increase jobs.

Awesome! Happy days are here again! Oh, wait... Not exactly a great outlook. 1.5% GDP growth isn't very good.

Where did I say it was an MSNBC or NPR article? I didn't.
