He started doing this seven years ago....the last year I was working...a stressful year for me at work moreso than any in a long time...AND my mother was dying in a nursing home month by month. I was ready to just shoot myself ...hubby already was retired -so he began making many dinners for us that year...just to help ease my stress. NOW....he continues to make meatloaf whenever i say.....I'm hungry for some meatloaf !! Of course I told him how to do it all those years ago..but still..he likes to mak

  7. Im in the STONE AGE...I still read a book by holding the actual book in my hands. Just finished reading THE SNOWMAN by Jo Nesbow....takes place in Norway... a police mystery Now reading some sort of realistic science fiction... THE BREACH by Patrick Lee I usually find the books I want to read in USA TODAY newspaper ( book reviews and ads.) I make a list of them and then buy about two at time....then in a few months I start another list .
  8. @BLONDIEGAL.... We have done the very same. Whenever we have been close to a family with children or toddlers that were well behaved throughout that entire meal....when we exited..I would go over and compliment the parents and thank them.
  9. I would never let my children ruin someone elses dining experience(or movie, or church service, etc) :rolleyes:I totally agree. Im 62...hubby and I raised two sons... and from the time they were little babies...they learned the right way to behave and they learned what was NOT acceptable. AND we said no to them....if we needed to. GUESS WHAT ...their self-esteem was NEVER damaged !! Parents today are so afraid they will hurt Sarah or Tyler's feelings !!!! AND how rude to let other customers be subjected to your child's horrid tantrums that you ignore !!
  10. It is just going to get worse because we've cut our nose off to spite our face. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Absolutely true. HARD BACK BREAKING WORK in those fields. .........Absolutely true. Lets see how many high school boys want to get in the fields after they get home from school and pick some onions til sunset ?? OR how about the many high school dropouts sitting around playing video games and talking on their phones all day ? Maybe they want to pick cucumbers under a blistering
  11. Barilla Plus Whole Grain Spaghetti....marinara sauce and some Italian sausage from Albertsons in Florida that I had in my freezer. Small tossed green salad....and whole wheat bread. Dessert is some Publix Frozen Chocolate Yogurt.
  12. Never heard of this before...and I am an OLD lady. BUT I can surely try it one day soon. WITH just two of us I rarely make a cake...unless it's for a birthday or if son and wife come over...etc. No sense having a great big cake around....neither hubby or I is skinny .
  13. OKAY...I googled rooster comb injections and I see that is really SNYVISC....the shots my hubby has been getting. Called roosted comb because originally they extracted material from the combs of roosters....BUT NOW it is all bioechemical and synthetically made .....SYNVISC. FUNNY ..the NY doctor never referred to them as rooster comb shots !! LOL...I can't wait to see him again when we go back home....
  14. ROOSTER COMB ???? I have NEVER heard of this in my life... Hubby has bad knee arthritis.. He has had cortisone shots but they stopped working ..and so three years ago the ortho doc in NEW YORK STATE began giving him injections of SNYVISC twice a year. THIS HAS HELPED HIM.....and so far he has avoided the knee replacement. BUT shots of rooster comb.....?? We have no idea about this.

  16. HIRAM DALLAS AREA getting up to an inch of snow ? I guess I havent heard the weather since 11 PM last night..I thought it was just the far northern counties that would get some snow. Freezing rain or sleet in the AM...??? For Paulding county then ? WHO KNOWS. ? ! IT will be THE headline on the news ....the weather will top any story of a murder down here !

  18. POSSIBLE SNOW ? How much ? one or two inches ?? I haven't listened to the weather yet today. Im from New York State and it is quite funny to see how worked up you all get down here ...even if someone sees SNOW FLAKES !!
  19. Hubby and I DID go to DUGOUT CAFE tonight so I could try their wings. I only have wings at most 4 times a year and have been really craving them. I got medium....not dry and crisp--wet....with extra sauce. Im from New York State and THESE wings tonight reminded me of two places back home I used to get wings at. THEY were very very good...just the way I like them. Small wings...but very good just the same.
  20. THANKS for replying so quickly. AND for explaining the smoking regulations !! Im hungry ! !
  21. I would like to try their wings or the salad with grilled chicken on it. Do you know if it is very SMOKY in this sports bar cafe ? I would like to eat inside. THANKS.

  23. When I was a kid, I used to pray for a huge snow so we wouldn't have to go to school. 1993 cured me. I don't care if I never see another snowflake. --------------------- Well we had plenty of plows being it was NYS....but even the plows were unable to get very far. I didnt realize that the snow made it THIS far south in such a large amount. I was here last year for the first time...have only lived here 17 months..so we spent 60 years in NYS.. ask US if we want to ever see another snowflake !!!
  24. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DID you really have a BLIZZARD down here on those dates in 1993 ??? I was back in southern New York State at that time and boy oh boy did WE have a blizzard. And we lived in snow country anyway..but we had a doozy of a horrible blizzard. Approx 3 feet of snow. Roofs of some older homes gave way..etc. Schools THERE closed 4 days straight. Plows got stuck...chains didnt work. Phones stopped working in many areas. EVERYTHING was closed down or shut down...except for hospitals and
