When are we going to get a black leader who will stand up and bravely admit that these problems are their's, the black community and the black culture, and something that needs to be addressed by them and not by the country (America). Something is wrong when so many young black men think it's cool to refer to themselves as "Gangstas" and "Niggaz" on their social websites. When black rap music constantly refers to "Niggaz" and "Hoes" and shootings and killings. Take a listen to Dr. Dre's CD, "Explicit", or just do a Google search for the lyrics, they're easy enough to find. I dare

Good thing that 88 year old Veteran didn't try to "stand his ground" against those sweet little children or he'd be in a world of trouble right now, instead of just dead. I'M GETTING SICK OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stopped a while ago and he wanted $30 for them - said I wouldn't find one any cheaper. I went on down the road and bought one from an automotive place for $10.

Or how to get in touch with him and when he's there? I need one but I'm always going the wrong way when I come by and don't want to deal with the traffic if I stop.

A router can't do any better than the connection your Internet Service Provider (ISP) supplies. Are you sure it's your router? I've had many, many problems with BellSouth DSL and ATT Uverse and getting them to admit that it's their problem and to fix it has taken hours on the phone over weeks of calls. When I dropped a second line that I had had just for DSL to save some money, the installer swapped my line pair from the DSLAM to another one (who knows why?) and I was dropping signal consistently. I even had to go out and buy an ATT router because the Cisco router I had been using was "not sup

GSU Student Launched "White Students' Union

My Great-Grandfather from Paulding County provided a lot of the lumber and labor to rebuild Atlanta, and most of my family lived in Atlanta at various times around the Bankhead, Ashby St and English Ave area. My father and uncle went to English Ave School and played in Maddox Park as kids. That's all gone now, all the streets been renamed after some AA person of importance. My family heritage has been obliterated, but I don't dare say anything about it because I'm white! That's not discrimination??? -

How the H... did this get so far from bacon and pineapple?? I just wanted to add that Aldi frequently has pineapples for $0.99. Not always, sometimes they're $1.99 and that's less than I've ever seen them anywhere else, but often they're only 99 cents. I'm gonna try this next time I get one.

A challenge for someone this fall to become an expert!

I've registered. I don't really care about winning any prize money, I just wanted to say thanks for pointing this out. I didn't know that all of these courses existed, and for free! I'm already building my own solar panels. There's tons of information on YouTube and parts are available on Ebay. Right now I'm using eco-worthy.com for my cells after my first order from Ebay led me to their site. Fast delivery and reasonable prices. It's a lot of delicate work, but you learn a lot by building your own. Again, thanks for the info. -
This might not be exactly on topic but I've bought a couple of treadmills at thrift shops for $15 that had perfectly good DC variable speed motors and controllers in them. They're usually around 2 HP and I strip them out to use in other projects. then scrap the rest of the machine. Just an idea some of you might can use.

Another great example of BMI being used to tell kids they are fat
BubbaDoo replied to bvrat5199's topic in RECENT TOPICS
What's called BMI now days is mostly BS! The only way to truly calculate BMI is to immerse the whole body in water and measure the amount of water that's displaced. The weight of that amount of water is then used to calculate the actual BMI. These scales that claim to do it and the height to weight formulas are a complete farce. And even then what does BMI mean anyway? -
Try the tip I gave about wetting the two rubber gaskets around the vacuum channel.

I've had several brands over the years and the FoodSaver is by far the best. It's more expensive, and the bags are expensive but they can be washed and reused although I seldom do. It will also seal other things like potato chip bags and rice and bean bags, even frozen food bags like when you just use part of the product. You can't pull a vacuum on things like that but just push out as much air as possible and then use the seal only button. A few hints: If you seem not to be getting a good enough vacuum when using the actual FoodSaver bags, wet the foam rubber seals in the lid and base of

No, I hadn't heard about that one yet. I heard about Fulton county saying that guns were missing or had been stolen the other day on the news, and then I searched for other instances and found that it has happened in quite a few other states.
-
So you turn in a gun at one of these "no questions asked gun buy-back programs" to help keep guns off the streets and out of the hands of criminals, and you get maybe $50 or $75 for a nearly new Glock or S&W handgun and it's going to be melted down into scrap metal, right? Sure!! Right now the Fulton County Sheriff's Dept. can't account for anywhere from a "handfull" (how many is a handfull of guns?) to maybe over a hundred weapons that were being stored. It's not just here either. Do an internet search for missing guns from law enforcement agencies and see what you find, then form your ow

OK, so I guess I'm officially an old fogey! I'm 65 years old now and I have enjoyed computer games ever since spending weeks playing Zork on my first computer, a Commodore 64. How many of you have even heard of, or played that one? No pictures or graphics, you just typed out what you wanted to do and the computer answered back also with text only. "You're standing in front of a white house, there is a mail box here." I think I still have all of the notes I made and maps I drew stashed away somewhere. About the worst thing that ever happened was you might get eaten by a Grue, but then y

I've been through the same thing in the last two months. The motor went out in my GE washer that's about 8 years old (which I loved)and a new motor would have cost around $250.00 (motor only, I'd put it in myself), so I decided to buy a new washer. Wrong idea!!! I bought two new HE washers and took them both back. They both took nearly an hour to wash a small load of clothes. The first one destroyed some of my sheets because when I added bleach to the wash, it was all concentrated in the 2-inches or so of water in the bottom of the machine and the top half of the load never even circulated thr

How often do you wash your clothes, sheets, etc.? Just wondering what is the norm for most folks. Before I retired I usually washed my shirts and pants after just one day of wearing, but now I find that I'm going several wearings (even underwear - God forbid!) before laundering and my clothes are lasting and looking better a lot longer. I'm just curious about how everybody else does it. I've never been told that I'm stinky or anything. Could that just be everybody being polite to me? Thought that this would be at least as important a topic as most of the other stuff I read on here.

You get a free doughnut when you buy coffee at Dunkin' Donuts!!!! That's about all you get from AARP, that and a ton of mail solicitations and publications. I joined when I first turned 50 and then dropped it after a couple of years. Even when I asked for AARP rates at motels I was just told that they were already giving me a discounted rate. I did reluctantly join again this year when I turned 65 just to get the medicare supplemental insurance because the rates seemed to be a little better than I was able to find elsewhere. My personal opinion is if you're not 65 and need the insurance, then
