  1. So the guy that finished his career as the SEC offensive player of the year in '01, SEC offensive player of the year in '02, winningest QB in NCAA history, conference leader for career yardage, and SEC leader for number of completions without an interception wasn't talented? Man, what ridiculously high standards you must have. Since when does what a player does in the NFL have anything to do with what they accomplished in college? Unless the NFL adopts the spread option, Tim Tebow will most likely not have near the same impact at QB, but that will not take away from what he has accompl
  2. David Greene did not get ANYWHERE NEAR the kind of love that Tebow gets, especially from ESPN. Had this happened to David Greene, ESPN would have mentioned it for maybe a few seconds while showing a brief clip of our game. They would not have shown Richt talking about his condition afterwards or shown numerous shows of our fans covering their mouths. Tim Tebow gets hurt, and you would think the dang president had been shot. It's football! This kind of stuff is going to happen. As long as no permanent damage is gone, you know soooo many defenders would love to say that they delivered the
  3. 278 was closed at the Powder Springs Dallas Road intersection nearly a couple of hours ago.
  4. Avoid 278 in Cobb County at the Powder Springs Dallas Road intersection. It was closed about 45 minutes ago.
  5. Man, these kind of games have to stop. Last week I sat in Athens and watched Stephen Garcia dink and dunk us to death, and tonight I watch Ryan Mallet continuously find the open man and beat us deep. Offensive shootouts are fun every now and then, but I'm wanting to see a game where we hold someone under 14 points and maybe 200 total yards. For the third week in a row, we were own our worst enemy at times. Turnovers really hurt us against OSU, they nearly costed us the game last week against SC, and they helped Arkansas jump out to that 21-10 first quarter lead tonight. I thought that
  6. I was asleep during the entire attack, and did not learn about it until I got up at around 11:30 and went into the old living room (Moved out of that house about a month later) and turned on the TV. Whatever channel it was already on was covering the story, so I was instantly intrigued when I saw the headline about America being under attack. A few seconds into watching, it showed the second plane slamming into the side of the second tower. I just remember being while trying to grasp what the heck I just saw happen. When I saw that, I figured that the attack was just one plane slamming i
  7. It's bad enough that Chipper is on there wearing a gator jersey, but now he goes and picks Oklahoma State over the dawgs. Someone might not get as many cheers at Turner Field tonight.
  8. Yep. I was watching it live early this morning. It was quite a sight. They are so lucky that a huge brawl did not start because of that. Blount deserves his lengthy suspension, but Byron Hout also deserves to be disciplined for instigating the mess. Blount should not have punched him, but I don't feel sorry for Hout either. You pretty much deserve whatever happens to you when you trash talk a man following a tough loss like that. You need to win and lose with dignity. Both players can learn something from this. Unfotunately, it might have very well costed Blount his football career.
  9. hehe. Repeating another version of that line is actually how I got my nickname years ago. It's hard to pick just one quote, though. It seems like I routinely repeat every other line from the Vacation movies. The scene in Weird Science when Gary is drunk and is telling those guys about his old girlfriend always cracks me up, too. Someone already posted about the hilarious part when Clark loses it in Christmas Vacation, so I'll post a link to where he goes off on the family in Vacation. DON'T TOUCH! Vacation Clip
  10. Pretty much everything the guy put his hands on during the 80's turned into a classic hit. You haven't heard a whole lot from him in recent years, though. Sixteen Candles is where my nickname was derived from (The Donger). It's hard to pick just one favorite of the movies that he either wrote or directed. Rest in peace you extremely talented man.
  11. Here's an article about it from onlineathens.com... And here is another one from scout.com... Anyone know him or his family? I'm sure they're very excited about this. The return of Jeff Owens from injury will make the DT rotation fairly deep, but hopefully Brandon can see some decent playing time. I've always wanted to cheer for someone who went to the same high school as me.
  12. Very sad. I was in school with Tynan from Dallas Elementary through PCHS. I first got to know him in 7th grade when we had several classes together at Herschel Jones. I remember playing basketball with him a lot during P.E. and he was my partner when we got to disect a frog in science. He was a smart guy who always seemed to be in the classes for the really smart kids. I last spoke with him sometime in 2000 up at Chattahoochee Tech. May he rest in peace.
  13. Joel was one of my very first friends. He was a grade behind me in school, but we both went to Stop N' Go Daycare together for a couple of years. He was my best friend at the place. One time our group went on this hike into the woods to see this creek and Joel and I got separated from the rest and were lost for a bit. We wandered around for maybe twenty minutes and then he wanted to go one way, but I chose to go another and we ended up getting separated. Well, looking back, I probably should have stuck with Joel because he wound up making it back to the daycare center whereas I wandered a
  14. I was sitting at the red light where you turn to go to Hiram High when he came speeding by just as the light turned green. One cop car was hot on his trail and three more soon followed. Hopefully they've got him by now.
  15. This is my grandmother. I'll miss her, but I know that she's truly in a better place now.
  16. I think... wait.... it said "The Family shared these photos" so who was the one at the Hospital with the camera and you will know who "LEAKED" the photos. She told me that the other grandma is the one who gave them the photos. The grandma I know and Donald's mom didn't know anything about it. They didn't like that she did it without at least talking to his mom first. I just wonder How the Police knew he was there?? What was the Police doing there, if they did not know already, that he was there? From what I understood, the operator of a passing train saw his body and ca
  17. I know Donald's mom and grandma. I've also met Donald (AKA Shakey) a few times in the past. His grandma told me about what all happened earlier. She said that they took him off his ventilator yesterday. She said that he was in and out of consciousness, but he seemd to recognize them. They don't really know how he's going to be at this point. She was also a little upset that those pictures of him in his hospital bed were leaked to Fox5. Keep him and his family in your thoughts.
  18. That's awful. I heard about it last night when my mom asked me if I knew him. My dad knows his grandpa and he was the photographer at my brother's wedding about seven years ago. I was a couple of years ahead of Trey at PCHS. The only time that I remember being around him was when I was a junior and he was good friends with one of my best friends. The three of used to often walk to third period together and chat and cut-up along the way. I never got to know him away from school, but he always seemed like a nice and decent fellow. My thoughts are with his family.
  19. R.I.P. Jason Collier. You will surely be missed by your family, friends and fans.
  20. I was very sad to hear about coach Phillips passing. He was one of my P.E. teachers when I was at Herschel Jones from '92-'95. He was always the cool coach who everyone wanted to have. I remember the first day of 6th grade when he talked to all of us in the gym before class. I remember him talking about how we are Jones' Tigers now and are nearly halfway done with our schooling. I was little nervous about being in middle school, but the stuff he said made me feel better. I remember playing softball during class. Every time someone would get a hit, you'd often hear him yell "Good one
  21. What sad news. I only got to watch the last few years of his show live. I have the Carson collection and have always laughed at them. Especially the one where the guy throws the tomohawk and hits the wooden man in the crotch. Then Johnny says "I didn't know you were Jewish." He was definitely the King of Late Night.
