What specific law did David avoid or delay? Todd is not on the IBA or AA board, so unless the law says specific material from those boards are matters of public record, board members don't have to divulge that material. You bolded language of "any record, book or document," but knowledge that a firm wants to put commercial flights in an airport is none of those.

Since his words got laughs, I'm pretty sure he was making a joke. So I'm not sure what your point is in sharing this.
-
So either he didn't ask any questions, or he found some information and sat on it. For those of you yelling that we need town hall meetings now, Todd had seven months to make some noise about what he did know or host a town hall meeting.

Again, later in the thread I admitted that the school is indeed within a mile from a runway, but the busier H-J has facilities where people would congregate within a mile of its runways, too—a civic center, parks, shopping center and more. Why would a government put a park and civic center that close to an airport if it wasn't feasible to do so, or why would they remain in place if the noise was that terrible or if anything else made the area unusable?
-
Yep, I don't know how to live a life consisting of only watching TV or being on the phone.
-
And my neighbor's lawn mower shouldn't wake me up while I'm sleeping in, but sometimes it does. Minor nuisance in the grand scheme of things. If you're on the phone that often where planes would bother you, maybe a lifestyle change is in order. And what if the windows did rattle out? Why weren't they replaced by better windows? If a thief kicked down your door one night, would you go without a front door while you continued to live there?
-
Just giving you some modern-day solutions since we're talking about this today and not way back when.
-
I didn't say there weren't any houses in the "crash zone." Just because you or someone you know lives near the airport doesn't make you any more or less important than folks that could be in the areas of Hartsfield-Jackson (who is to say there aren't any apartments that close to the airport?). And if you're that worried about a plane crash, then everyone should be worried, as any area could be in a flight path. Get a DVR. Well, did they?
-
Appreciate the insult! If you would've read further down the thread, you would've seen that I researched the issue further. The map of Hartsfield-Jackson showed that there's plenty of things less than a mile away from a runway—theGeorgia International Convention Center, Conley Road Park, a sports complex, shopping center and more. If they can have all that within a mile of a runway at the world's busiestairport, then I don't see the fuss with having a school less than a mile awayfrom Paulding's airport. If sound's truly an issue for local folks, then they should see what users of the GICC, the

Just looked at the map of Hartsfield-Jackson, and from what I can tell, there's plenty of things less than a mile away from a runway—the Georgia International Convention Center, Conley Road Park, a sports complex, shopping center and more. A middle school is also fairly close but may be more than a mile away—I can't truly tell. If they can have all that within a mile of a runway at the world's busiest airport, then I don't see the fuss with having a school less than a mile away from Paulding's airport. And looking at its map, there's a lot more space that looks undeveloped around it than a

Obviously. But isn't it you that saying there's a school less than a mile from the airport? If that's true, then I'm guessing that's the distance to the airport sign, not the airport itself. And if that's what your basing one of your arguments on, then you're being intellectually dishonest. If the school is actually less than a mile from any part of the runway though, then maybe you have something. But if a school close to the runway is too close for comfort for some folks, why do we have terminal buildings that close to runways? A plane can crash into them just as easily (if not moreso) t
-
Then I guess they'll be at work when the majority of these flights are taking off and landing, so why all the hubbub about how much noise there will be? Also, isn't the road into the airport at least a mile long anyway? When folks keep saying there's a school less than a mile away from the airport, I'd have to imagine that the distance is from the airport sign along the highway—not the airport or runway itself.

Recalling Paulding Airport's October Surprise

Just looking at the current list (http://www.pauldinga...q=board-members)until we get a list from that point in time last year, we know both Austinbrothers live in Paulding. Doris Devey lives in Hiram. So all your electedofficials on the board are county residents. Of the others, Calvin Thompson owns a business in Dallas and goes to church inthe county, so I assume he also lives here. Alan Shipp and James Underwood bothgo to church at Dallas First United Methodist Church, so it stands to reasonthey go to a church that is close to home. Ellis Astin's profile says he livesin South Paulding. -

We're not talking about the Chamber board. But they too have a vested interest in the county even if they don't live here. -

As I responded in the other thread, fair enough. Do you or anyone have a list of the board members at the time of the vote? Who was on there that wasn't/isn't a commissioner/mayor/chamber personnel/etc.? -
Maybe Whitey has the information at hand as to who was on the board at the time of the vote, but I'm guessing that a couple of the AA members that aren't commissioners/mayors/Chamber personnel/etc. are Paulding residents. That's your citizen input. I keep saying this, but I'll say it again—this is an example of representative government. Residents have representation on the board—it might not be the people they want or those who hold the ideals they do, but they are represented.

Funny how everyone keeps blaming the commissioners and theChamber and the mayors in Paulding but few, if any, have mentioned any of theother Airport Authority members by name (they're right here FYI - http://www.pauldinga...q=board-members) Did the other guys vote against the plans? Do opponents of the plan know forsure they weren't involved? Or does calling them out not fit into the narrativeof the "back-door deals" involving the commission and others? I'd venture to guess that the other folks are Paulding residents. They at leastseem to have several connections to Paulding due to the
