  1. So you're glossing over the fact that there are so many Democrats in that evil 0.01% you keep going on about, and you say you'll still support them because they're the "lesser of two evils"? You accuse the rich of profiting off the backs of the poor. Why do you leave all these rich Democrats off the hook? Why are you only screaming that it's the fault of the Republicans?
  2. Yes, this is what Republicans want, because there are no Democrats that earn these huge incomes. Oh wait, there are. Seven of the 10 richest members of Congress are Democrats, and each of their net worths are high enough to put them into that evil top 0.01% bracket. [Source: http://media.cq.com/50richest/] No. 50 on that list, a Democrat, is worth $6.67 million. That puts him somewhere in that awful top 0.01-0.1% range. Of the 50, 21 are Democrats, 29 Republicans. So to say that Republicans are the ones that want the income distribution your charts show (even if your numbers are ou
  3. You said that "a lot of them," referring to rich people, have gotten rich on the "backs of the have not's," and so I asked you why you quote one of those rich people, Warren Buffett, quite often. That should be a simple question for you, shouldn't it? Did he or did he not get rich on the "backs of the have not's"? If he did, why is he so honorable that you quote him often? If he didn't, then what's the difference between most of the rich and Buffett?
  4. You could at least address why you constantly quote a member of the rich—the group you whine about all the time—as well as a known slaveowner.
  5. Prove it. Prove to us how every rich person became rich on the backs of the "have not's." You've quoted Warren Buffett on here countless times. Did he get rich on the backs of the poor? If so, why is he so honorable and respected in your eyes that you would quote him for truth? Even Jefferson owned slaves, and you've quoted him countless times. But I'm sure this irony is lost on you. Many slaves were beaten if they tried to learn how to read. Meanwhile, the poor today have access to a (mostly) free public education system that teaches them how to *gasp* read and many other useful s
  6. Not sure what this has to do with your original topic of Georgia's tort laws. And with all the charts you have and share on a regular basis, one would think that you could replace the ones with data that's 10 years old now.
  7. I don't think that many people are calling for a ban on TP. But if the rules on this site mean anything, they should be enforced: Don't post something just to get a reaction out of people. Basically: be nice and play well with others! Posts on controversial issues (ex. politics, religion) should be meant to provoke discussion, not incite anger. Multiple topics about "Gross Old Perverts" can only be for inciting a reaction. ...off-topic comments have always been subject to removal. These come out in his own topics, as well as in threads started by others. You try to refute a
  8. So if she's too passed out to say no, then it's a go? How else would someone read your statement here?
  9. And that would be as incorrect as saying the man owns the decision. Sex should be between consenting adults—it's not one person's decision. And your "woman owning the decision" stance doesn't work in same-sex situations.
  10. You post this, yet whine when people talk about your demeanor. There's a reason we talk about your demeanor. It's because you demean others and show no respect to them. Here's exhibit A. If you want respect, you need to give it in return. Lastly, posting the same topics over and over will earn you no respect. These topics often get no responses, and yet you keep posting them. You deserve any critics you get for running these topics into the ground. You want to help all those poor, unfortunate souls? Why don't you volunteer all this free time you apparently have and help others?
  11. So does the AJC know you're republishing their cartoons without their permission? Are you going to pay for Pubby's legal fees when the AJC catches on?
  12. Does she though? --- The problem is…the same people who appointed the members of the board to these two entities are also the people who will appoint citizens to the study committees. Each commissioner will appoint one person to each “citizen study committee” and the Paulding Chamber of Commerce will appoint one person to each “citizen study committee”. ... And why are we allowing anyone who sits on either of those boards appoint anyone to a “citizen study committee” who is supposed to be holding them somewhat accountable? Oh that really makes a huge amount of sense! ... I’m sick an
  13. If that's the case, then nearly anyone can address the commission. You're not a citizen of Paulding County—you're a resident of Paulding County. You're only a citizen of the United States. As far as any rule goes that you have to be a resident of the county, I'd think that if you're addressing an issue pertinent to the county, they'll let you speak. I don't think they check your papers to see if you live in the county.
  14. The difference is that unlike someone getting another credit card, the school district isn't going to die and leave a spouse/family with the debt (dissolve) or lose its job (main source of funding). Would it be great for a district to be debt-free? Sure. But few debt-free districts would be able to build new school facilities when needed—if they had the money in the bank to do so, they'd be criticized for hoarding so much cash. School districts do maintain large bank accounts, but that's mainly to ensure that there is enough to pay employees during the first few months of the fiscal year.
  15. If you have so much ammo to back you up in this case, why hasn't any other law firm pledged to take up your case pro bono? I'd think any big-name firm would be willing to stand up for the little guy against the big government for fame alone. If no one has come to you, why haven't you gone to them instead of constantly complaining on here? As many times as you post about your plight, you could have put in a significant effort in going to law firms to ask them to take up your case. You already got a decision from the courts that said the county violated the anti-SLAPP law—if any firm use
  16. Getting the bonds now means getting the chance to spend money on things that could cost more in years to come.
  17. Relay For Life of Paulding County kicks off today at 6 p.m. at Veterans Park in Dallas (next to the Watson Government Complex), and you’re invited to attend. We have 72 teams taking part in tonight’s event—schools, churches, businesses, community members and other groups—and many of them will be fundraising on site, from selling food and drink to silent auctions, games, photos booths and more. The money they raise will go to Relay For Life, which benefits the American Cancer Society. Attached is a list of teams’ on-site fundraisers. If you don’t have any plans tonight, we hope you’
  18. Just be sure to go to the Stepping All Over Cancer Facebook page and get a flyer first, Dana! And thanks for your support!
  19. You said "So yes, a limo service is often more cost effective than a taxi... and usually a more pleasant ride with a driver who actually speaks and understands English and is generally more courteous to their passengers. Not to mention, limos don't usually smell like curry or cheap gas station incense." How would one not take those comments as negative? The courts are not law makers, true, but their decisions can become de facto law. Take, for instance, voter ID laws. A state can pass a law that says you have to present a photo ID at the voting booth, but if a court rules that said l
  20. Five Below in Hiram will donate 10 percent of your purchase to Relay For Life of Paulding County if you present a fundraiser flyer at the time of purchase. Flyers can be downloaded from the “Stepping All Over Cancer” Relay team's Facebook page. The fundraising campaign begins Sunday, May 11, and ends Sunday, May 18. The store is located at 4904 Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway, Suite 120, and its hours are Sundays from 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Proceeds from the weeklong campaign will go to “Stepping All Over Cancer,” one of the 71 teams taking part in Relay F
  21. The negative stereotypes you mentioned would be seen by most people as targeting one group of people from a specific region of the world. That's at least borderline racist. Rights aren't just given to us by our constitutions. Court decisions also give us rights or spell out what rights are or are not covered by our laws. The U.S. Constitution says nothing about the Internet (go on, check it if you don't believe me), yet other laws and court decision have spelled out our rights as they pertain to online speech under the First Amendment. I'm glad you're strongly against the taxi restrict
  22. Well, you didn't go full racist in your last sentence, but you came this close. Good job. I think one would be hard pressed to find a law in any constitution that says where you can park your vehicle on your land, because it'd be a ridiculous overreach and overreaction of the government to spell out where you can park your vehicle on your land. The fact that you're asking me to find you a law in a constitution that says you have the right to park on your land where you please proves my point. There likely is not one, and basic law says that any rights not expressly granted to the go
  23. You said yourself that HOA's can tell you not to park your vehicles in your driveway or disallow junk vehicles in your driveway. Those rules ARE taking away your rights to use your property in any way you see fit. You may AGREE to the taking away of those rights when you sign the agreement, but your rights are still being taken away. And in most places, you can't buy a house in an area under a HOA without agreeing to the rules of the HOA. If you want to live there, you have no choice. What's going to be more cost effective—a taxi or a limo? And does MARTA's rail line take you to Dallas? So
  24. I am not regarding old taxis as eyesores. Again, I mentioned that type of ordinance as one where the government reaches into one's usage of their private property because they and the public have a valid interest in how property in the county looks. Sometimes the wishes of the government and public trump the wishes of the individual. You can disagree over the need for such an ordinance, but at least in this case, I think there's good intent there. And maybe there's good intent on the vehicle age requirement. Again, I don't know the true intent of it. I've only been speculating. There
  25. Frankly, I don't know why this ordinance seeks to have taxis less than 10 years old. I didn't write it, and I didn't vote for it. I'm just suggesting some reasons why it might have been passed just for the point of discussion. And some of those reasons may be good, while others may be weak. Why don't you ask those who passed it? You misunderstood the reason why I mentioned the eyesore ordinance. I wasn't saying that old cars are eyesores—just that those ordinances restrict one's right to do what they please with their property because a government and its people have an interest in having
