A small hike in water bills now. Just wait until construction is completed and the total bills start coming due, your water bill is going to be higher than your mortgage payment.

Paulding Chamber being challanged on airport issue
pcfanatic replied to WHITEY's topic in RECENT TOPICS
What I would really like to know is: who at the FAA is so irresponsible with taxpayer dollars they would let our previous commission and PCAA convince them to spend millions and millions of taxpayer dollars to build an airport in the middle of nowhere and now the FAA is considering granting a Part 139 and spending millions and millions more taxpayer dollars. All on the word of Allegiant Air (of all airline companies) that they are going to do 2-4 flights a week. Without any justification of the need for 2-4 flights per week. Paulding's airport is about 30-50 years ahead of its time. One da -
Size of Atlanta's Property in Paulding County
pcfanatic replied to efhutton's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The article in today's AJC stated that the City of Atlanta had canceled the RFP for the development of the Paulding land and that Atlanta is going to sit on the land for the time being to see what the future brings. The airport's general manager said . “Anything that’s done with that land has to be something that preserves the natural beauty of that land…. ". It appears the City of Atlanta cares more about the citizens of Paulding than the Paulding Airport Authority and our own BOC Chairman, who only see Dollar Signs. -
With the lawsuit over the town hall meeting, the airport supporters are now on the slippery slope, going from desperate to ASININE. as·i·nine ˈasəˌnīn/ extremely stupid or foolish. "Lydia ignored his asinine remark" synonyms: stupid, foolish, brainless, mindless, senseless, idiotic, imbecilic,ridiculous, ludicrous, absurd, nonsensical, fatuous, silly, inane, witless,empty-headed;

Carmichael is neither an honest man nor a decent man. He proved that last fall when he supported and voted for the passage of the IGA. At that point he proved he was a shill of the airport supporters who would do anything to negate the will of the voters. He essentially said he was smarter than the voters and did not care what they said. He supported turning the airport over to the airport authority and voters be damned. He does not deserve being a leader in county as a member of the commission and most certainly does not deserve to be chairman, if he is so blinded by his own desires th

I am in my sixties and had rotator cuff surgery in spring of 2014. The surgery is a breeze, however, the months of physical therapy afterwards was a a killer, it was like going to a torture chamber. Had to sleep in a recliner for about six months, could not lay prone even on back or other side. For months after the pain was much greater than pain before. However, now a year later shoulder feels like new. If I had to have it again I would have to be at point of no other choice.

Everyone also needs to remember, the three insurgents voted to save all this taxpayer money over the objections of David Austin and David Carmichael. The two David's wanted to continue down their path and waste all this money at the airport. And you are telling me that Carmichael is going to run for commission chairman in 2016. I hope the taxpayers remember this things.

Paulding County government is doing a great disservice to the people of Paulding County by posting edited videos of the commission meetings on the Government website. Their postings are a distortion of the truth and open government. I would hope the three open and transparent commissioners (not the two good ole boys) would introduce and pass a resolution that only complete videos be posted by the county. And thank you Pubby for pointing out that the video is incomplete and what is missing, when you reposted the video. For those wanting to see the complete commission meeting go to Youtube,

I have not watched the video yet. I hope the BOC showed Calvin more respect than Calvin showed Todd when Todd spoke at the Airport Authority meeting. But in the words of Dear Ole Calvin himself I also hope they "got the clock ready" so that he would not run over his allotted time. I have now watched the video and I heard Calvin mention the $1,000,000 per year that Blake has told him and the others that the AA will be getting to help run the airport, If the Part 139 certificate is obtained. I hate to burst his bubble, but Blake failed to tell Calvin, the AA, and the BOC on several occasions t

I would like to know who is paying Lani Skipper to attend and take notes? And who is she representing by attending. Seems to me, this is a personal issue for Mr. Jones and not county business. Unless, he is making accusations against the BOC or county about his resignation and she was there to represent their interest. If Jones is not bringing the county and BOC into this mess, he should just quietly fade into the sunset.
-
BB, be sure to take ear protection for the kiddos. You could be arrested for child endangerment if you expose them to all that noise without protection.
-
Will not be attending, I have to help my family put in their ear plugs and put on their gas masks due to all the noise and pollution they will be spewing out. Or maybe I'll just watch some paint dry that weekend.
-
It is no surprise that he is leaving, considering the airport mess created by Paulding's elites.
-
Isn't LanI Skipper the member of the FIRM that screwed up the bonds for the the Paulding developers, that caused the county to have to pay for paving all the subdivision streets? I cringe at the thought of her being a superior court judge if she is that incompetent or crooked.

Per the AJC database, for the years 2008-2012 Dallas collected $705,000 in traffic fines while Hiram collected $1,701,000. Nice little racket they have going in Hiram.
-
There is an article in today's AJC about ticket traps in Georgia. If you go to the online database at myajc.com, Hiram is listed as one of the top fifty ticket traps of all the cities and counties in the state. I knew they weren't making it on the alcohol tax alone.

I got a chuckle from the following and thought others might also like it. The paragraph below is copied directly from the flysilvercomet.com website. Seems as if they like Delta and Hartsfield-Jackson Airport because of the short drive and convenience. I'll bet Silver Comet didn't get David Austin's approval before saying these good things about Delta. Metro Atlanta is strategically located within a two-hour flight of 80% of the U.S. population, offering convenience as well as a substantial competitive advantage. Home to Delta Air Lines, a founding member of SkyTeam, Delta participat

Beach Bum, Will you or one of your support cronies please explain to me and the readers of this blog how preparation of an EA is going to have an effect in anyway on whether or not there is an airshow. Do you know what is in an EA and what is involved in it's preparation? I do, I have been involved in many similar EA's at a major airfield and am knowlegable about what I am saying. The overwhelming majority of the EA is going to be researched, prepared and written in Michael Baker's office. They will have to schedule a few trips to the airport to gather certain data. But with the size o

PAULDING RESIDENTS SCORE HUGE WIN!
pcfanatic replied to Concerned Pldg Resident's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Boy am I excited, the Airport Authority (AA) is putting our $60 million asset to good use on Oct 4. We are going to get a movie under the stars on the tarmac. But wait, I thought the taxpayers had already provided several multimillion dollar parks where outdoor movies could be shown. Everywhere that is except West Paulding. But I guess West Paulding doesn't need a park, they have this airport. This must be part of the AA's public relations campaign to get everyone to fall in love with the airport. Nothing like having our own taxpayer funded airport where we can watch movies. I sure hope -
PAULDING RESIDENTS SCORE HUGE WIN!

David Austin and his two lapdogs think they have succeeded in cramming an unwanted commercial airport down the throats of the people. Kinda like Obama cramming Obamacare down the peoples throat. How has that worked out? Wait til the November elections and we will see. The next two years for the BOC is going to be a HOOT, Austin and his one remaining lapdog are in for quite a ride. -
PAULDING RESIDENTS SCORE HUGE WIN!

Pubby, Word is that as a favor to one of their major clients, Troutman-Sanders is going to cut Paulding BOC a special rate of only $50.00 per hour. Funny how these things work, isn't it? -
PAULDING RESIDENTS SCORE HUGE WIN!

CPR thinks the WAR is over but this is just one of many more battles to come. He hasn't yet heard the word on the street. First thing the new commission is going to do is fire the FIRM (they have had a nice run controlling Paulding County, but it is time for it to end). After firing the firm, they are going to bring in Troutman-Sanders as the new County legal counsel. What are the two David's going to do, cry foul. I am sure Troutman-Sanders can come up with a few wrenches to throw into the plans of the PCAA. If the PCAA doesn't like it, what are they going to do, sue the BOC. Their $4 -
