  1. You are very welcome . That'll give me the time to wade through my gazillion books and find the perfect one to get you hooked, lol. I'm like...a book pimp (or pusher) .
  2. My faves growing up were... Gilligan's Island, I love Lucy, The Courtship of Eddie's Father, Family affair, Kolchak: the Night Stalker, Night Gallery, Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits and *deep breath* Columbo. I was a tv nut....now I am just a nut .
  3. Hey girl, I will find one to loan you...howsabout that? Come to the store on Wednesday or so (I'll be there with Brit) and I will have one for you to borrow . I'll turn you into a zombie lover, yet! lol
  4. HAHAHAHA! That was NOT my fault . I'm reading Jim Butcher's 'White Night', Bentley Little's 'The Collection 1', and Douglas Preston and Lee Child's 'The Cabinet of Curiosities' . I just finished Elizabeth Kostova's 'The Historian'...FANTASTIC .
  5. Yeah, that was the only other awesome thing about it. All the hot cheerleaders looked like they had been 'rode hard and put up wet', as my husband would say...they looked at least ten years older than my friends at the nerdy table, lol.
  6. I went to my 25th, because my best friend of 33 years BEGGED me to go. I hated it, I'll never go to another one. The people I cared anything about hanging out with, I have maintained friendships with. I spent the entire night at a table with the people I still stay in contact with now . The only good thing about it was the stay overnight in the hotel with my bestie...other than that, it pretty much sucked. lol I'm also not one of those people who thought of my school years as 'the best years of my life', quite the opposite...so that may have something to do with it as well .
  7. Totally different world we live in. Remember a few years back when that psycho stormed into a family home killed a Mom, her older teenage son and the Mother's boyfriend (I believe) all so he could take off with her two elementary aged children. A brother and sister...he immediately assaulted and killed the little boy in the woods, but kept the girl. Eventually he was caught, and the girl rescued. Turns out he had been 'watching' the house, and the children playing for several days before making his move. Monsters are ever vigilant, we need to be more so as parents. My younger sister
  8. I totally must have missed it . You know what I say... " *********". Wait, nevermind, can't say it here on a 'pg' rated thread . "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" Dr. Seuss
  9. Pubby...Thank you for pointing out the idiocy.
  10. I think Jenilyn's point is that not everyone on assistance is taking advantage of the system. Making a blanket statement, is never a good idea. Go after the people who abuse the system, seriously go after them. It's pretty clear from this thread that no one on here has ever had to be humiliated enough to have to grovel and ask for this kind of assistance. I have. 1988, left at 2 months pregnant by my husband...a man we never saw or heard from again. Car gone, lost my job trying to care for my daughter and deal with a pregnancy. 2 years of assistance, and feeling like a slug before I
  11. LOL, I have no idea. I know I am FINALLY meeting a good friend (on the internet for 5 years now) that I know through Brian Keene, Debbie Kuhn. Deb's awesomeness We have plans too hook up, but I am not sure when. There are some other people going, but not sure how many or when we will meet up, either. I'm hoping to do the whole 4 day thing, but I'll let you know. It's all kind of up in the air, other than the FACT that I am going to be there, lol.
  12. Yes, dammit. I told Ray, he gets his new truck...I get Dragon*Con. Hide and watch, lol.
  13. This entire thread, for the most part actually gives me hope that things may change. I'm pretty proud to be a part of this message board, and to be able to interact with you guys.
  14. Maybe a group of us should stand at the intersection one morning with signs and saying "Hey STUPID LADY, in "__________" vehicle", QUIT endangering lives". Think that might get her attention?
  15. Uh! Unsafe drivers... . That intersection , btw is the EXACT intersection where the Cobb County school bus ran the light, and killed my mother. I hate that intersection and rarely drive past it for that reason .
  16. There are SO many points I want to address in your post but I will just stick to these three: Your first, in bold: Taken from the HRC website, because they are MUCH more articulate that I am : "Many same-sex couples want the right to legally marry because they are in love — many, in fact, have spent the last 10, 20 or 50 years with that person — and they want to honor their relationship in the greatest way our society has to offer, by making a public commitment to stand together in good times and bad, through all the joys and challenges family life brings. Many parents want the right t
  17. This FB page is absolutely hilarious. I've never seen so many funny 'signs' grouped together in one place. This one, in particular had my crying... Just had to share . Missing Dog
