You may get lucky if you buy a no name brand, but you are playing the lottery with it. I have only known a couple of instances where no name branded flat screens were problem free two years later. I would stick with Vizio if I were wanting a cheaper flat screen. If you have a choice i would choose samsung over anything else. I bought a Westinghouse a few years back and within a year and a half the screen had a big dull circle in the middle where the colors were not right, and my friends no name flat screen wouldn't work with HDMI after the first year. Vizio and Samsung on the other hand h

If I want to get my kids a computer, what should I look for?
Wineguy replied to MamaJess's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I agree with the Mac idea. If you have kids and they go to sites and download stuff that messes up the computer your only choice is a Mac. Almost all of the virus' and spyware that makes your computer run slow and stop working are made exclusively for windows. And you can get all of your games and programs through the App store on apple which is easy to use and shop, while Windows has nothing like it. -
It looks like the Mayor of Hiram is looking to join some of the other surrounding cities and may start sunday sales as soon as November 20th.
-
My wife will be stoked about Olive Garden, I will be stoked about Aldi. And they are just relocating Kauffman from next to Staples to the old Sonny's Spot. I think Academy will be a great addition to Hiram, but may do irreparable harm to Sports Authority.
-
I really like using Kaufmann, I think a new location is a great idea for them.

To hopefully answer everyone's questions: This new law applies to ALL Beer, Wine, and Liquor sales (Package, Grocery, and Convenience) inside of the City Limits of Hiram. Most all of the elections were for cities only with the exception notably of Cherokee County (Others as well not in Metro Atlanta). Many locations will be enacting the law as soon as November 20th. However, it is up to the City Council to decide when we will get to use our new freedoms. Other locations around us that will be giving us freedom of choice will be Acworth, Cartersville, Kennesaw, Villa Rica, and Rockmart. T

WOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! SUNDAY SALES!!!!!!!!!!!! -
They are now replacing the Nook color with a Nook tablet. It runs android without being rooted. This would be a much better choice now that they have released it. I still think I may go with a kindle fire instead. But either one would be a good choice for the $200-$250 price point.

Since we didn't have Sunday Sales on the Ballot in Dallas i skipped the election this year.

I find that McD's and Starbucks Wifi are Painfully slow. I have had bad slowdowns at Hooters as well. Buffalo Wild Wings has pretty good wifi, as does chick fil a and Rodney's.

Agreed. My wife is a Pre-K teacher, it is a great program that is easily funded. That is, as long as you have responsible people managing the money. But when they are all politicians, money is lining pockets the whole way through.

If you are using iTunes, then your only viable option will be an iPad, as none of the other devices integrate or sync with iTunes effectively. Some Android devices have workarounds to do it, but then again if you are shopping for something that "Just Works" you do not want to deal with workarounds. As for anyone that is wanting just a good E-Reader that can play occasional music or web browsing I think the Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet would be by far the most price efficient. Just beware that initial reviews are showing that these devices are both slightly buggy.
-
You have to realize that they marked it down for a reason. Look up the reviews of Android based tablets and you will have your answer. Their are very few functional apps for android tablets, most of them are just big versions of the phone apps. Most of the cheaper android tablets so far are also fairly slow and feel as cheap as they cost. The Amazon Kindle Fire looks to be a good tablet, with the only drawback being the fact it can only run a small selection of apps that Amazon approves.

It is better for everyone because where before at say a 2.75% charge to small business, the business was forced to pay Bank of America over $5 dollars for every $175. That cost is added to the retail cost of the goods sold. This added cost we are having to pay every time we purchase any good or service. A flat fee to the bank of $5 is cheaper than the added surcharge we are forced to pay on every transaction that is hidden in the background. My concern is that most business will not in any way pass that saving back to the consumer. It is the nature of the beast to pocket that money a

I use it all the time. It is the highest quality I have found for renting streaming movies. It comes through in 1080P immediately without any hiccups. I love it. But I only use it for new movies. TV shows and older movies I split between Netflix streaming, Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime, and iTunes.
-
I use my Apple TV for renting movies, and streaming Netflix (I don't o the DVD option), and I have a subscription to Hulu Plus. I use my iPad to stream Hulu, Hbo, Comcast On Demand, and Vudu to my TV. I can usually find anything I want on one service or another.

Question. Do you go to Chick Fil A on Saturday and buy your family food for Sunday? 40% of wine sales are impulse purchases. That means that a little less than half of people do not plan to purchase alcohol, but remember it at the last minute. The same is true when people purchase groceries on the second busiest shopping day of the week. When people purchase food on Sunday, they then think of a wine they would like to drink with it. This doesn't even include our out of town tourists and visitors, the fact that we are laughed at by most of the country for being back woods and closed mi

Steve Jobs Funeral To Be Picketed By Westboro Church

Lol, that is hilarious. I think if they picket his funeral any technology they enjoy currently will be maliciously attacked in the future. -
Me and my wife now have two iPhone 4s's on order being delivered Friday. WOOHOO!!!!!!!
-
Absolutely it would be worth 100 more if for no other reason than the new Siri voice activated assistant. However I do agree I wouldn't bother with the Verizon or Sprint models. While it is the exact same phone on all carriers, evdo on them vs the Hspa+ on Att are like comparing dialup to cable. That on top of the fact you cannot use any data while talking on the phone. But the new iPhones camera is more sophisticated than any other phone camera, the processor is a blazing fast chip made specifically for the iPhone unlike the generic chip many "fast" phones use. the Siri voice service is hones

I would like to take a second to recognize the Paulding Photography Club. Yesterday (October 1st), was the 4th Annual North Georgia Camera Club Shootout, which took place in downtown Cartersville. Our club came in 1st place out of 12 photography clubs around the southeast. We had 6 photographers place with 8 different photos. This is a major accomplishment as most of our members are amateurs and hobbyists, while other clubs have seasoned professionals, instructors, journalists, and judges. Congrats again Paulding Photography Club.

I just googled and they show closed. I called and the number has been shut down and listed as a closed business.
-
Yes they are. We would love to have you there. Information can be found at http://www.pauldingphotographyclub.com or feel free to ask anything you would like and I will answer as best I can.

Surepip, I think Americans are becoming divided as well. I am a market analyst for the largest winery in the world, and we have found that the non educated wine drinkers are gravitating or beginning with the American Moscato and pure grape varietals. While more experienced wine drinkers are drinking many more blends. The number two wine in the US is Menage E Trois Red Blend, and eight behind it is the new Apothic Red Blend. Customers are beginning to like and buy wines by taste and not by grape.
