I believe the shirt explains it all.

I know Dallas First Baptist has a sign saying they will not be holding service on Wed. July 4th. I do not think many celebrations will be changed for Wednesday services.

There are always Sponsorships. There are always food vendors and others there. The fee's and such could cover costs.

So is it official that Paulding County has completely abandoned Independence Day? We are going from Taylor Farm Park and Ben Hill Strickland last year to nothing this year?
-
Question. If telling why Heath or Carruth should not be elected is not the right tactic, what is? Knowing that the majority of voters know nothing past the candidates names when they go vote, how do you ensure that Heath doesnt win other than telling all of the reasons NOT to vote for him?

Feel Good Movie is The Three Musketeers Favorite Holiday Food is Honey Maple Glazed Ham Favorite Restaurant is Ruth's Chris Favorite Vacation spot is Gulf Shores Alabama What is the one TV show you watch but never tell people about because you feel guilty for watching it?
-
Sounds like Carruth needs to get on the offensive. Unfortunately most people vote for the signs they see and the Incumbent. I think that getting the word out there on why NOT to vote for the likely winner is the only way to keep the votes away.

I hope to be able to make it. I have over the last year become much more active on the board and I would like to put a face to the names I do not already know. This is a great idea.

Melissa Morrison for State House District 19
Wineguy replied to Melissa Morrison District 19's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I think this may have been a mistype. Her runoff issue is not a lawsuit but a cease and desist served to her last week over illegal water flow obstruction that was not permitted and caused runoff issues to her neighbors. -
Melissa Morrison for State House District 19
Wineguy replied to Melissa Morrison District 19's topic in Paulding County NEWS
What is her other choice really. It is about a 50 50 for anyone to pick Mrs. Morrison or Mr. James. There is not a democrat running, so everyone has to pick one of these two or else go with the incumbent. I think there are so many on this site on a witch hunt for Non Conservatives. Have you ever come to think maybe they are both very conservative and former member maybe just likes Mrs. Morrison better? -
She hasn't made it to my house yet. I eagerly await the moment.
-
This is the challenge. It was filed by David Wayne Morgan. It does not say Mrs. Braddocks name on it, but neither does Mr. Carruth's. I found out through the grapevine that this is the challenge against Mrs. Braddock. OSAH Hearing Calendar
-
We will find out soon. She is being challenged in court on July 3rd. All of this will be brought to light and the judge will decide if she can run.
-
I say again, shouldn't this make her ineligible to be our representative in the first place?
-
ok.... How has David Austin saved us that much money?

Appropriate Sarcasm at its best. -
Carruth - has he been declared qualified to run?
Wineguy replied to LisaC's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Thanks, I found it as well on the OSAH.GA.GOV site. I hate it doesn't mention who the candidate is that is being challenged. It would be great to see which of our candidates were being challenged. -
I would. I do have certain candidates I like better than others. But if those candidates were found to be no better than the others than I would stand by my decision to support whoever is the candidate that will be ethically sound, and do what is best for the district.
-
I agree. It is going to take something like this to get the message across to the public at large. They need a good viral youtube video.
-
Absolutely. I feel that any elected official should be required to be in good standing with all levels of the law, be it federal, state, or local. Any outstanding warrants, tax liens, or the like should be immediate disqualifications. How are we to be represented by someone who doesn't respect the same laws their constituents are expected to adhere to.

Where were you able to see the challenges and court dates? -
Less of a person or not. Having someone who has Federal Liens against them for failure to pay on owed taxes as our representative does not exude confidence. If I am not mistaken there are actually laws preventing people from serving in this office if they have outstanding taxes or other violations such as our current representative.

It's amazing she is eligible to be a rep with all of these legal issues.
