If the employee wishes to use a paid sick day or vacation day fine, but I do not think a business is inherently obligated to pay workers in the event of a natural disaster... I do think the company should make reasonable and charitable accommodations for employees who were unable to report to work or who suffered personal flooding hardships.... JMHO.
