Law enforcement officers typically have many years of experience handling firearms and they need the extra capacity to deal with a shoot out / multiple suspect situation... Assuming that she wants a firearm for self defense, and given the fact that she has admitted that she inexperienced with firearms... a revolver is the best choice. In an emergency situation a jam can cost you your life, and it takes experience to calmly and quickly clear a jam in an emergency... A revolver is a reliable and safe choice for self defense. Easy to load, easy to use, easy to clean, heavy trigger action. Failure to secure any firearm from children is no accident... it is gross negligence.

Pistols can jam... get a revolver.

I enjoyed this gorgeous day doing yard work... pulling weeds, trimming bushes, planting mums, mowing grass. The leaves in my woods are just starting to turn lovely shades of yellow, orange, and red. I cannot wait for the beautiful bounty of full fall color...
