  1. Bobby C. Hanson, "Ludlow Porch" Bobby C. Hanson, better known as "Ludlow Porch", 76, of Dawsonville passed away peacefully Friday February 11, 2011. Born October 11, 1934 in Atlanta to the late Philip and Betty Hanson, he moved to Dawson County from Roswell in 1994. In 1971, Sports Illustrated magazine was looking for trivia experts. The magazine dispatched a writer to visit Ludlow and he came away convinced that Ludlow's head was full of worthless information, and wrote about it. The article got the attention of WSB radio and he was ask to come on the air. Officials at WRNG "Ring Radio" in
  2. I read one time that comedian Redd Foxx (Sandford and Son guy) kept up a Christmas Tree all year long because when he was a little boy he never had a tree and was trying to make up for it as an adult.
  3. I have a friend I have known for five years. Everyday of that 5 years she has an "illness of the day". Either she has nausea, dizziness, a headache, her knee hurts and more. I mean every single time I speak to her something is wrong. I always say, "I'm sorry you don't feel well" or something like that. But it gets old fast.
  4. Google "Tiger Mom" by Amy Chua and read about it. This lady's mother "Tiger Mom" rejected a Birthday Card she made as a little girl. The mother said "She deserved better". I think this is awful that a mother would not like a little child's homemade card. Read about Tiger Mom and comment please.
  5. Pope Benedict XVI is urging parents to stop giving their newborn kids "celebrity" names, instead turning to the Bible for more Christian names. "Every baptized child acquires the character of the son of God, beginning with their Christian name, an unmistakable sign that the Holy Spirit causes man to be born anew in the womb of the church," Pope Benedict said during Mass at the Sistine Chapel, according to the Daily Telegraph. The pope added that family life is "being threatened" with the use of non-Christian names.
  6. Y'all can watch Days of Our Lives episodes for free on fancast.com. That way if you missing a episode you can get caught back up.
  7. The number one that I hate in a store is when an little old lady is in front of me and the total is x number of dollars and 97 cents, and the old lady will count out 97 cents in pennies (after she searches and searches in her purse). Coupons are fine but PLEASE don't count out tons of change.

  11. The best Chicken Salad I ever had was made with Cool Whip. It sounds dreadful but it was wonderful. I don't have the recipe for it but it was truly amazing. Does anyone know about a recipe like this?
  12. When I was a child I remember going to a nursing home and hearing a nurse talking about a girl in her early 20's that was in there. The girl had been a drug addict and she was so destroyed by the drugs she was in there at that young age. I remember it scared me alot as a child. I have never ever forgot about it.
  13. Ken Scott will be putting on a show at the Dallas Library on Monday December 20th at 10:30am. I've seen him before and he is GREAT.
  14. The thing that annoys me is: When people give me a complete list of their medical history. I really don't need to know every graphic detail, nor do I want to look at your surgery scar. I am not saying I don't care that they have health problems, 'cause I do feel bad for them, but I don't need in depth information.
  15. These people might be going to "skip town". You need to call da cops
  16. There's a movie from the 1940's called "Tenth Avenue Angel". This is played sometimes around Christmas. It is a such a sweet, sad, happy movie staring Margaret O'Brian. There is one part I alway burst into tears during. This is better than "It's A Wonderful Life" for a holiday movie, at least to me. It's not on DVD but it on TCM sometimes.
  17. Do you say "Stuffing" or "Dressing"? What is your families favorite? Oysters in it? Cornbread? What?
  18. I would never dream of getting in a truck or car with STRANGERS. It would be my luck they were AX MURDERS or something.
  19. This is the 21 century! The "little woman" doesn't have to sit meekly at home anymore just cause the "head of the house" can't or won't go somewhere. Go without him, its not like your joined at the hip.
  20. I read that reason she wore that pearl necklace was because she had a big "hollow" in her throat that looked weird on TV and to cover it up she wore a necklace. And the high heels were because as Wally and Beaver grew taller than she the TV people wanted her to appear taller when standing next to them.
  21. If you like spooky stories of the Southern USA, go to themoonlitroad.com. It's a good site for this time of year.
  22. I should have posted this with the original post: 18 months later in 1967 a lady name Diane Shield THAT WORKED IN THE SAME BANK was found murdered in her car. That murder has never been solved. I mean come on, two women in the same bank one missing one murder within 18 months of each other? Thats why I don't think it has to do with Mary's husband making a discovery. Diane Shield would have had nothing to do with Mary's husband making a discovery. And just think if the person or persons who did it were in their 20's or 30's they would still be alive today. Makes you think......is he still o
