Here is a old poem: Somebody's Mother The woman was old and ragged and gray And bent with the chill of the Winter's day. The street was wet with a recent snow And the woman's feet were aged and slow. She stood at the crossing and waited long, Alone, uncared for, amid the throng Of human beings who passed her by Nor heeded the glance of her anxious eye. Down the street with laughter and shout, Glad in the freedom of 'school let out," Came the boys like a flock of sheep, Hailing the snow piled white and deep. Here is a poem that is sometimes said at funerals. Rest in Peace Andy Should you go first and I remain to walk the road alone I'll live in memory's garden, dear with happy days we've known in Spring I'll wait for roses red, when fades the lilacs blue, in early fall, when brown leaves call I'll catch a glimpse of you Should you go first, and I remain for battles to be fought, each thing you've touched along the way will be a hallowed spot I'll hear your voice; I'll see your smile, though blindly I may grope the memory of your helping hand will buoy me on with hope Sh
