  1. I was told that straight talk used the verizon network. I've never verified that though.
  2. 11.1v batteries are compatible with 10.8v, you should have no problem using this battery. I would consider a higher mAh (Wh), this refers to the amount of power the battery holds. The higher the number the longer your battery will last. Let us know what you end up getting and how it works out.
  3. I'm tossing around the idea of setting up a small solar power system. Mostly just for my own enjoyment. Does anyone here have any experience? I actually have all the components already except the panels. I'd like to play with some wind power as well.
  4. Terrible storms indeed, my cousins apartment complex in Tuscaloosa was hit hard, luckily she was on the first floor so only had some broken windows, the floor above her though is missing walls Things were pretty calm in my corner of Paulding last night though. Nick
  5. Be very careful with those options. Both of those will delete your data. You will need a windows 7 dvd either from the laptop manufacturer or Microsoft to do a clean install and not lose all your data.
  6. I recall one similar to this when I was in elementary school. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimeograph
  7. Under recovery wizard, you should have several options. The first should be attempt to fix startup automatically? Have you tried that one yet?
  8. The one that used the blue ink and had a rotating drum? I recall the machine, not the name.
  9. I should have mentioned its $40 if you drop if off. If we pick it up and return it's $60.
  10. Very, We work out of my house and have almost zero overhead. A backup/reinstall takes awhile to complete however it's only about 1 hour of actual 'work'. We spend about 5 minutes getting the backup to run, then wait a few hours. Then we spend about 5 minutes starting the windows install and wait a few hours. We have automated the updates and software install process so it's pretty quick as well. Next time make sure you give us a call instead of whoever you've been using
  11. I'd probably use ubuntu. http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download Download and burn the cd. Then put it in your computer and boot off of it. You should be able to browse your computer and get all of your files and copy them to a USB drive. Then you can do a clean install and not lose your data. The install process will move the old files to "windows.old", so you shouldn't really need a backup, not worth risking that though.
  12. Sounds like Vista or Win 7. If the repair feature won't work you'll likely need to backup your data using some kind of live cd and then do a clean install. XP has a repair feature that works at least 75% of the time, in my opinion the vista/7 repair is pretty horrible. If you need any specifics let me know, or if it's more than you want to tackle we can do it in 24 hours and for only $40. Nick
  13. I was reading an article in Popular Science a few days ago and they were talking about how the post office has a massive network of vehicles that traverse basically the entire country 6 days a week. They were talking about sensors being placed on the vehicles to collect scientific data on air quality and traffic info. IIRC they were suggesting if scientist paid for the use of the vehicles it could help offset the deficit they are running. I was thinking there are probably far more practical uses, meter reading for example. Why couldn't the meter reading machine be added to all of the m
  14. Is this a wireless or wired adapter?
  15. I went with my state farm agent that has my home/auto/boat etc. PLENTY of coverage is $16/month. I had planned in shopping around, but at a rate that low I figured I'd lose more in time wasted shopping around than I would save.
  16. I use Square to process payments with and without a card from my phone. I believe its 2.75% which is higher than others, but the reader is free, and there is no monthly minimums or fees. I looked at lots of processors and I found this to be the most flexible and best deal cost wise for me. Square
  17. We had a baby boy last week. I tried to start teaching him about computers, but seems he just wants to sleep.
  18. <vent> The 2nd largest shipping company mis-delivered yet another one of my packages, pretty sure this is the 9th or 10th time. Very frustrating to say the least. Anyone else have these problems? </vent>
  19. Yes, that is malware. http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=46819
  20. http://www.zappos.com/ rocks
  21. I'd be interested in some for my work area. How much? Nick
  22. You should be able to call the manufacturer, and they will just mail you a keyboard. Most require removing 3 screws or less, so I'm sure you could do it yourself.
  23. It was the power police coming to make you use more power I'm intrigued, I've looked into some of the 'green' switches where you can flip one switch and disconnect everything, but it was pretty expensive.
