  1. NOOOOOO to the extended warranty. You'll want 4GB RAM min. Ideally I'd go with 8 if your looking for a machine you'll use for years. Also if you do go to BB make sure you don't go for their "setup" or "optimization" deal. I've talked to several people who did it and were unsatisfied.
  2. On this side of town I wouldn't go anywhere other than Microcenter or Costco (although costco online is better). We bought my wife a laptop recently, looked at EVERY store locally that has them because she wanted to see/play with them. Ended up going with a Dell Inspiron 14z from costco.com. They had the same model in the store, but online they have a wider range of specs to choose from for each model. I personally do not like HP's and would not purchase one. The thinkpads rock. I can't speak to the quality of the other lenovo brands.
  3. Like Just thinkn' hard we have a regular kindle, nook, kindle fire and an ipad. I like reading best on the kindle2 I prefer surfing the web on the fire. I find the ipad slightly awkward to hold. It really does depend on what you think you will use it for. I think the iPad is the nicest, but it should be as its 2.5 times the cost of the fire.
  4. Very cool, I actually just checked again last week and saw they weren't available yet.
  5. Yeah check with amazon. I've seen 2 like that. I wouldnt say it's a 'common' problem but not unheard of.
  6. Ah. Yeah. The people rolling out the cart fulls, I've wondered the same thing
  7. We eat them . I have 1 or 2 a day. They stay good for quite awhile since they are straight from the tree.
  8. We were there this weekend, the apples are almost gone already.
  9. A few years ago I was a fully functioning bar with 2 beers on tap. It was heavy but I've never had so many friends at a party. Pretty sure I talked to every single person there that night.
  10. I tried to get it but there are 2 streets in my neighborhood that can't get the top tier. Unfortunately I'm on one of them. That said. Their top tier was the mid tier for Comcast. Comcast offers 100Mbps service to my house. Of course it's not cheap.
  11. I'd definitely try the uninstall/reinstall. Those that suggested the new ip are probably right. But if the desktop is also printing over the wireless that wouldn't be it. Feel free to give me a ring if you want some more troubleshooting tips Nick
  12. Thanks! Have them call or email me and I'll get them taken care of. Nick
  13. Obviously you all don't understand. The entire world revolves around me and what I like. Even though the concensus is early is actually better I'm going to try and get a law put in place to make it illegal to pick up trash before all kids in my house are awake. or maybe I should just shut up and worry about more important things Thanks for the feedback!

    7am

Not the company I use but another picks up on my street at about 7AM. Its woken my 1 year old up several times. Just curious what other people think. I wish they would wait until 8am. Nick
  15. Have you ever looked at http://www.roku.com/ I'd check it out, I think it can probably do everything your looking for, and you won't have to hook your laptop up anymore. The $50 one should be all you need. Nick
  16. What are you running on your laptop that your displaying on the TV? I'm wondering if a Roku might be better.
  17. Crossroads brewery is in my garage so its not for sale (dang laws) I gladly give away samples though. Bhb can be found in local restaraunts, but I don't believe its currently packaged for retail sale. I could be wrong though. Nick
  18. Just curious if anyone here participates in WCG or any of the other boinc projects. Thinking of starting a Pcom team.
  19. I assume he will b/c you can't buy beer in hell on sundays...
  20. "phone people"?? is that some kind of fancy new text message or facebook poke?
  21. I love the slide out keyboard on my droid, it's the only reason I haven't upgraded. I haven't found a touch screen keyboard yet that works well when SSH'd in to a server.
  22. Have you done much app development? I just finished creating some API's for an android app. I've got a buddy doing the actual android app, I'm doing the server side work. I did write a 'hello world' app last year, but never went any further.
  23. 2.2.3, I have yet to find an app that won't run on it (some are slow for sure, angry birds is no longer smooth). And if I call Verizon with an issue I get full support. If i tried to run 4 on it, I'm sure it would implode, but that doesn't mean the device is 'not supported'
