I don't know that anyone can *really* drive on ice. Snow, yes, but not ice. Also, I would think your daddy would be more disappointed of you risking your life and the lives of those around you to get there. I don't know that flipped over in a ditch is how you want to spend the day after Christmas. A whole lot of the states you're going to drive through got this weather system before we did and are getting the cold weather behind it.

Yup. It didn't start snowing there til 6 and then we high tailed it back home!! It wasn't bad until I hit the boonies and it was obvious that there weren't any cars driving on these back roads. I'm going to head back out there next week to spend more time with Dad since he said he was taking the week off.

So there's no such thing as quality furniture anymore?

Rooms to Go has had awesome financing deals lately. I'm considering hitting them up.

I'm headed east and it hasn't started snowing out there yet. Weather.com has it at 40 in Stone Mountain. If I leave here in 30, then I might be able to outrun it!

Soldiers, teachers, and pretty much all gooberment jobs have really sucky starting pay, but there are MANY ways to increase that pay.....mostly through years of service and advanced rank, degrees, etc. In 7 years I've practically doubled my starting pay. I have friends in the military who make more than I do. Bottom line? Bust you hump and advance yourself and you'll do fine in any job. (and before you bash, I spent several years in the military when I was younger)

I've seen them at Toys R Us in the bike section. They're pop-up signs (like wet floor ones) that you put out when the kids are out.

i made a list. mostly stocking stuffers....and the diapers she insists on having for the new doll she told santa she wanted. oh, and my mom called earlier to tell me i have to bring food to the family gathering...so i have to get that too. it's all on the list.
