  1. I rated it a 3. 70 is perfect for me. 75 is pushing it. 95 is just miserable. I posted on their FB page a few days ago, asking how they could rate 95 degree days so high... they asked what I would rate it. I thought it might be interesting to post a poll here and link to it.
  2. When I was watching the weather the other day, 11 alive was rating 95 degree days as 8's (out of possible 11). What would YOU rate a 95 degree, sunny day? For me, it is wayyy too hot to be rated that high. Just wondering how others feel.
  3. One of my all-time favorites. I actually had a hard time with the 1st few episodes, but after that, I was hooked. Counting down to the next season!
  4. Right before my Grandfather died in 2001, he muttered that he hid money. My Grandmother (who died in 2008) also stashed money, but she hid small bundles in drawers, closets and other not-so-hard places. My Grandfather was very creative and likely had a single stash spot in a very clever place... wall panel, under floorboards... somewhere where it would unlikely be accidentally discovered. The house is now empty and up for sale. It makes me ill to think that there's probably a really nice stash in there somewhere... my Mom & her 2 brothers could really use it. My Grandparents were very well
  5. Congratulations, Sperminator.

  7. It's a little warm, but my kids requested chili.
  8. Shish-kabobs (beef, green pepper, yellow pepper, vidalia onion, mushroom & pineapple) with rice.
  9. Cube steak, mashed potatoes & gravy, green bean casserole, sauteed zucchini & onions... and salad.
  10. I want to get each of my kids a fruit tree to plant on Easter. I was going to do this last year, but I hard a hard time finding a decent selection at a decent price. They'll still get a *small* amount of candy... maybe hung from the branches in plastic eggs. Where are some good places to check for these trees? I'm thinking maybe apple, peach and pear... something that will actually bear fruit someday. Any other suggestions are welcome.
  11. We had shaved Virginia ham on Hawaiian sweet rolls. Yummy!
  12. I had originally signed up for tickets, but didn't go because the minimum age is 14... and I really wanted to take my kids. They sent out this email about an hour ago: "If you were unable to make the taping today or if you attended and would like to come back, free tickets are available for tomorrow at 6 PM...and admission is guaranteed!! We have tons more space in the theater than we thought and we need you there to cheer on our finalists!" To print your free tickets, CLICK HERE
  13. 3... but have worn the same pair for 6 years, have only worn the others maybe 10 times in that time.
  14. I use salt, pepper, onion soup mix, worcestershire and a little bit of shredded cheddar, to help keep them moist.
  15. My parents are divorced, but my Mom saved her rings. She gave them to my Sweetie when she knew that we were in love and about ready to take the next step. He proposed to me with the ring that my Dad proposed to my Mom with. It meant a lot to me (more so than if he went out and spent thousands of dollars on a ring) ... and it still makes me smile, all these years later, when I look at my rings and remember not only that my Husband put them on my finger, but also that they were once a symbol of my parents' love. Even though their marriage didn't last, I came from that marriage... and my children
  16. I just wish "they" would pick one... and leave it alone.
  17. Already??? Geez... maybe I'll just opt out this time.
  18. We had spaghetti with homemade meatballs (awesome), salad & garlic bread.
  19. Well shoot... apparently band practice at Scoggins wasn't canceled. I've been a little freaked out, looking for the bus... talked to the sweet lady at the bus barn, who called my son's bus driver on her cell phone... she said the band students didn't get on the bus. ??? My husband just left in this nasty mess to go pick him up.
  20. Thanks for the info... for some reason, I usually don't get those calls... was getting ready to call the school.
  21. Sounds awesome... gonna have to try them! Here's a good looking recipe: http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/deep-fried-jalapeno-slices/Detail.aspx
