  2. Aww, thank you, OSU... and I'm sorry. My son's bike is still out there. We have received numerous tips that it has been spotted in Jones Mill. We now have a website up at http://www.stolenTTR.com and a Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/stolenttr
  3. It makes me ill. Additionally, if anyone saw someone with a blue & white dirt bike on Holly Springs Rd (walking, riding or in the back of a truck) today, pleaseeeee email or call. We get a lot of traffic on Holly Springs Rd., especially in the area of Ragsdale Elementary. Someone MUST have seen something. I am now certain that this took place today, as we let our dogs out of the house (in the fence) this morning from about 6:30-7:30. If the gate had been opened then, the dogs would have left the fence. When I let them back out this afternoon, they left the fence, because the thie
  4. My son's Yamaha TTR 125 was stolen out of our fenced backyard in Yorkville. It was stolen either last night or this morning. My son saved up his own money for this bike, which he purchased about 2 years ago. Yesterday was his Birthday. Happy Birthday. This bike is missing the front right shroud, the front right sprocket cover and the exhaust tip. We're offering a reward for it's return. Please call 678-428-1025 or email: stolenTTR@gmail.com If you are willing to share my facebook post, please send me a message and I will send you the link. Thanks for taking the time to rea
  5. http://www.food.com/recipe/onion-parmesan-roasted-red-potatoes-26210 I use extra virgin olive oil. I also mix the oil, soup mix and parmesan first, then mix in the potatoes.
  6. I'm so sorry. She was the Para Pro in my youngest son's kindergarten classroom at Poole... and he absolutely adored her. I was fortunate enough to see her smiling face when I'd pick my boys up from ASP. She was a very special lady and I know she will be missed deeply by many.
  7. I couldn't do a bus driver's job... not even in nice weather. It was very humbling listening to the scanner today... hearing distraught, concerned, loving, heroic drivers that were trying to get "their children" home. All the bus drivers deserve praise for what that had to do today... but the driver of bus 75 deserves a special shout out. Not only did she get her middle schoolers home, but also her elementary kids, plus she went back to Ragsdale to pick up bus 87's kids... and I saw her go back to the school several more times to pick up even more kids. ABOVE and BEYOND!
  8. Shortly before 6:00, I saw bus 93 heading towards Ragsdale Elementary with a full load.
  9. I just saw bus 93 heading towards Ragsdale Elementary with a full load.
  10. We usually stay home for NYE and have a campfire with hot dogs and s'mores. This year, we're going out to eat, then to see Widespread Panic in Atlanta... and no driving for us, we have a room for the night! Happy New Year!
  11. Last year mine was still partially frozen on Wednesday, but putting it in brine for the last 24 hours helped it finish thawing.
  12. I used to have the same problem until I started doing them this way: 6 large eggs (or you may increase) 2 teaspoons white vinegar 1 pinch salt water, to cover 3 cups ice cubes (or use as much as desired) Directions: 1. Place the eggs in a saucepan. 2. Cover the eggs with lukewarm water. 3. Add in vinegar and pinch salt. 4. Bring to a full boil over medium heat; boil for 2 minutes (start timing after the water reaches a full boil). 5. Remove from heat cover with a tight lid. 6. Allow the eggs to stand for 11 minutes. 7. Drain the eggs a couple times under very cold water.
  13. I hope you find some great treasures, Mrs G. Their hours are Wed-Sun, 10am-6pm
  14. Don't want to classify myself as anything... but I love Grateful Dead... A LOT! So many great shows to stream from archive.org and sugarmegs.org ... there's no shortage of incredible shows to listen to.
  15. We stopped by there when they first opened, but they didn't have much stuff. Last week my husband was looking for some antique glass doorknobs and decided to check them out again. They not only had the doorknobs we needed, but the building is now full of cool stuff. I decided to check them out today and was pleasantly surprised. I'm looking forward to going back when I have a little more time. Oh, and they aren't full of new wholesale stuff like many of the flea markets started doing. If you search "gold mine yorkville" on craigslist, they have pics of some of their stuff. Gold Mine Antiq
  16. Aww, that's a shame, Lisa. I figured a place with "Country Cooking" in their name wouldn't cook from a box. That's disappointing. Thanks, Austin. We've eaten at both places and they are both very good. I was just hoping for something "right around the corner." Rocky... Dude's did great for years, until Dude died. I worked there in '96/97 and besides the people from Yorkville, we had customers from surrounding counties, as well. So many nights, we stayed packed from open until close... and people would have to wait outside for tables because we were so full. To this day, when I tell pe
  17. Has anyone tried Big Lew's Country Cooking? (where Dude's Steakhouse used to be) If so, what did you get and how was it? Are they reasonably priced for what you get? It would be so nice to have a great restaurant in Yorkville again! I miss Dude's!
  18. I recall that at one time there was a member or two here that did auto detailing, but I've searched and can't find them. If anyone can point me in the right direction or has a recommendation, I'd greatly appreciate it.

  20. A few days ago, someone driving a dually ran off the road into our yard and ran over our dogwood. I guess they were so happy to get out of the ditch that they forgot to leave a note. Between this, all the mailboxes we've had to replace and the constant trash we have to clean up out of our yard...I'm getting very frustrated with people. Yorkville used to be a nice place to live. Common courtesy isn't so common anymore.
