  1. I just came back from Dollar General in Yorkville. Coming from Holly Springs, you can legally turn into the store, but cannot take a left out of the parking lot. It's been this way since they opened. Even with the "no left turn" sign, everyone I know still takes a left (because it is much safer than the alternative). It is totally clear, so you can easily see if anything's coming from either direction. Now, there are poles up to prevent the left turn out of there... which means you have to take a right, then find somewhere safe on Goldmine (good luck) to turn around, or pull into a neighborhoo
  2. Thanks. I know what it is, was just wondering why I can't find any posted results.
  3. I did a quick search for ITBS scores and found nothing. ??

    Coffee

Same here. I've tried sips off coffee here & there, but I've never managed to get beyond a sip. And for me, coffee breath ranks right up there with garlic, onion, dorito, frito, morning & peanut butter breath. ewww
  5. I haven't yet compared Paulding with other districts, but I really didn't expect to see such high percentages of failure rates. In several grades & subjects, a quarter of the children failed... and in 8th grade Science, over one third. That sounds really high to me.
  6. I wasn't attempting to make anyone look like uneducated rednecks... and that wasn't posted as an attack on anyone at all. I was merely pointing out that we're all human beings and those that were here first got a raw deal. To me, the "white" man in the pic represented anyone who thinks that this land belongs to them, not just southerners. My apologies if I offended someone.
  7. I found this: http://decal.ga.gov/documents/attachments/TranspPlanrecord.pdf Doesn't seem adequate in regards to making sure each child is accounted for. Something like this seems like a better and more thorough option: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tvf_jtiBofBQzBGLKluXycUB6ko4T4SW1J30AhCPT_w/edit?hl=en_US&authkey=CPiZm7YP
  8. So, there is currently a law requiring all day care providers to keep a detailed checklist of all children who go on field trips? I'm curious, because I did a quick search and didn't find much info. I did see that they are required to do a headcount, but that's all I found.
  9. Aww... too cute, Myrlin! I bet that new cut is so much easier to take care of too!
  10. That's awesome, Myrlin! I LOVE hearing about so many people donating... very heartwarming!
  11. Yes, he misses his hair... and so do I... but... he doesn't regret getting it cut and will do it again in 2-3 years.
  12. Thank you, for both passing on info and for clearly stating that this may or may not be rumor. I sure hope no one died.
  13. I'm SO very, very sorry to hear that. I hope everyone will be okay. Does anyone have an update?
  14. None here... hoping for a good update soon.
  15. Thanks... yep, I see it has landed at Ragsdale elementary. It circled about 7 times before landing, which had me wondering. 2nd chopper is landing now.
  16. Anyone know what's up? Wondering if they're looking for someone.
  17. That's awesome! Thank you, I'll check into the thank you card... I thought I saw that if you want to receive acknowledgment, to send the info with the ponytail... Great Clips has his and will be sending it in. I did see a printable certificate though.
  18. So awesome of you to donate, lisabug... I'm sorry they treated you that way, though. My son loves his hair long too... and he told me that he definitely wouldn't cut it if it weren't for such a great cause. It was such a huge step for him... as his long hair has been part of his identity for years... a very long time for a child his age. I'm missing him right now. He left for DARE camp this morning. GipperGirl, you rock! If you're in the area the next time he donates, we're going to come find you!
  19. Don't rule out Lyme Disease. http://www.webmd.com/rheumatoid-arthritis/arthritis-lyme-disease "In the early stages of Lyme disease, you may experience flu-like symptoms that can include a stiff neck, chills, fever, swollen lymph nodes, headaches, fatigue, muscle aches, and joint pain...." Hope you feel better soon.
  20. Thank you... I can't take any credit though, he was awesome right from the start. It's wonderful that you donated!
  21. Yes you do... and yes, he is! Thank you.
  22. After years of growing his hair out, he finally decided he was ready to take that big step and donate. He initially started growing it out because he likes long hair, but after finding out about Locks of Love, he decided that he wanted to grow it out as long as he could, then donate it. After they cut his pony tail, we measured, and pulled straight, his hair was 15" from tip to tip. He now intends to keep growing his hair out and donate every 2 or 3 years. I'm very proud of him. <3 We also found out that Great Clips doesn't charge for a haircut, if you're donating to Locks of Love.
