  1. That's the same one I put in our Living Room. Works great. In the bedroom we got a Samsung SMart blu-ray player, attached to a 720HD Tv. Most of the same features as the Panasonic, but not Skype.
  2. Don't know if they do that, but Henderson Collision in Dallas, just off of 61 a bit North of 278, did a great job on our car, replacing a fender so it looked brand new. Worth checking with them.
  3. No, I would go to ATT.COM Support and click either the Live Chat or Call Us button. I wouldn't trust a phone # left in the voice mail. Also pass your mouse over links to see the actual link they are sending you to, but *** DON'T CLICK ***
  4. That's ok --- there are several Advantage plans, but most aren't available in Paulding because Paulding isn't in the Atlanta Metro Area, don't have our doctors in it or are too expensive. All our docs are in that one and there is a $0 premium per month --- there are co-pays. We looked at all of the supplement plans, many available in Paulding, with the rep who handled United Health Care and several others, but their costs would exceed what this plan costs, but everyone has a different situation. Since we can change again next year, we decided to give it a try. Anything will be less than w
  5. If you haven't, I wanted you to know that there is a presentation of the new Piedmont Wellstar Medicare Advantage (Part C) plan at the Douglas Downtown Conference Center, Meeting Room 2, 6700 Church Street, Douglasville, GA 30134 Thursday at 10am. I went to the last one and it was quite informative, about that plan and others, plus comparisons to supplement plans. After the meeting, a rep who handles several plans including that one visited me at home and went over all our options for my wife & I. (If you want her #, pm me)
  6. I've gotten a certified birth certificate for an elderly aunt from the county where she was born, so yes you can. If he had a Social Security card before, it's not hard to get a replacement once you have the birth certificate.
  7. Bought one last year after watching for sales for a time. You have to want or need one or more smart features. We bought a 50" Panasonic with several features which we had mounted above the fireplace (look for a store with free installation). We believe plasma is better than LED and wound up paying only about $800 after waiting for a really good sale. Main features we use are Netflix (several shows for the grandkids and a bunch of old TV shows and movies, now with their own produced shows) and Skype, so we can see the other grandkids up North on the big screen) Another opti
  8. From the Sentenel: Old Walmart shopping center gets a Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Diner is coming to Douglasville. And the breakfast and lunch restaurant one city official describes as having an “eclectic menu” is hoping to help continue the revival of the old Walmart shopping center on Stewart Parkway that was hopping in the 1990s before the retail giant moved into its current mega home at Highway 5 and I-20. Nicole Goode, spokeswoman for Thumbs Up, said the goal is for the restaurant to be open sometime around the middle of December. The Thumbs Up Diner will be located next to Georgia Highl
  9. Just as a warning, the same is true for texting. Even if you are stopped at a stoplight with the engine running, it's a violation. Was surprised to se hat on the news the other day.
  10. There was a new episode of Family Feud on TV last week, which included a husband, his ex-wife, his current wife and daughters from the first marriage. As opposed to many of the dysfunctional families that appear on the Feud, they were a normal family where all seem to have made peace with the arrangement. I pray that someday it'll work out for you.
  11. We've seen Jeff Brewer as Elvis at the Dallas Theatre a few times, and he is great. Never seen this guy, but might go. Wife is a big Elvis fan.
  12. If you know a young woman with a new red car (Kia I think) and a temp license plate who might have been travelling on Southbound Bill Carruth, where 2 lanes merge into 1, might want to warn her: (1) She was in the merge lane with half her car parallel to ours. If we didn't slow to let her in, she would have crashed into us and had a bad one. (2) After she merged, she stayed about 1 foot behind the car in front of her, pulling out occasionally looking for a place to pass in a no-passing zone. Don't know for sure that it was her first car, but at this rate it could be her last.
  13. Have had AOL as long as you have. Sounds like the 1st message sent you to a phony site where you had to enter your current username & password, which they then used to log in and change the password. The it got worse from there. After all the scam messages I get, I'm careful of where the links go --- I scroll over them and see what's the actual URL. That's saved me many times, but I must have missed something and got hacked once this year.
  14. I have always felt that way, but having customer service on a checkout lane is a bad idea and not keeping control of their outsourced kiosks is worse.
  15. Yes, it was a Target receipt, and appeared on my statement as "Target Kiosk" No mention of Radio Shack was ever made, but when looking at monthly receipts after that, $9.98 charge appeared as "Radio Shack Mobile" until sometime this year, when it showed as "Target Mobile" and then stopped appearing.
  16. It's the Target in Hiram. Guess they're doing it at multiple stores. Bad idea. Folks will stop shopping there. Had to wait for two checkouts ahead of me to be told they couldn't help.
  17. Unbeknownst to customers, Radio Shack was running the mobile phone kiosk for Target last year. Sometime this year, Target switched to another company based in Texas, so if you want to call the kiosk, you dial a Texas # and enter a 4-digit code to reach the Hiram store or you can callthe Target store and ask to be transferred.
  18. Went to Target, because I bought a cell phone there in March 2012 and included a $10/mo service contract. Phone wouldn't start up, figured it might be part of plan and went to Customer Service to see. Discovered (1) That Customer Service was now moved to a sales register, so you have to wait behind purchasers. (2) Had to see the person at the Mobile Kiosk, who was supposed to be there at noon, but didn't arrive until after 1pm because she was on a conference call. (3) Radio Shack had been running the Kiosk until sometime this year, when they switched to some unknown company. (4
  19. Went into Radio Shack because the battery on my cell phone went dead. Fellow there sent me to Interstate Battery, behind the Race Trac just east of the theater on 278. Similar to Batteries Plus in Marietta. Good service & prices. Thank you Radio Shack for referring me there.
  20. Had the steroid shot in my knee, didn't feel a thing and after six months, still perfect. Went to the ortho practice at Paulding Physicians Center by the site of the new hospital and thought I would need a knee replacement --- nope.
  21. Got a automated phone call from the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 278 & 92 that the K-mart Pharmacy has closed and the prescriptions have been transferred there. Too bad, we have been getting 90-day generic prescriptions for $10 with their savings card.
  22. Office Depot & Office Max announced yesterday that merger was completed. Wonder if the Hiram Max will become a Depot or close?
  23. I would consider KP, but none of my or my wife's doctors are included in their plans. So far, only Wellstar has our docs included.
  24. The advantage plans replace Medicare and should be a cheaper & better options. The supplement plans are secondary insurance to Medicare. Also, for those who thought this had some relation to Obamacare or The Affordable Health Care Act, it doesn't ---those 65+ can't use it --- they must use a Medicare Plan or supplemental insurance. My supplemental insurance was provided by the employer I retired from, with me paying the full expensive cost. That's why I'm looking for a replacement now. There might be something at the medicare.gov website to look at and compare plans --- I will
  25. I was looking for a Medicare Advantage plan to replace Medicare and my supplemental insurance hat I was paying for through my previous emploter. Checked out the new advantage plan that Cigna has been advertising heavily on TV lately! Bad news --- you can't get it if you live in Paulding, only available in Metro area even though a number of doctors in Paulding are in it, including Cobb. Good news --- few of our doctors are in their paln. Checked out the new Wellstar-Piedmont Advantage Plan. Good News --- you can get it in Paulding. Good News --- all our doctors are in it. Bad news --- I
