  5. Did you intentionally set the heading to use Delves in it's English meaning as well as his surname? Shouldn't it have been John Delves delves into
  6. I know that's why they gave me the discount --- that was nice of them --- weekly ad never said that they would. We always shop on Wednesday, going for the 5% discount at Kroger or Publix, depending on what's in their ad. Sometimes we go to the Nebo & Dallas Nebo Ingles, no discount, but often good prices on items.
  7. Different counties have different days. Cobb, Paulding, Douglas are all Wednesday.
  8. For me, I started listening to country music on WWVA, Wheeling West Virginia, which was one of the few stations I could receive in the Catskill Mountains of New York, so I am partial to the old time singers.
  9. Eating peanuts while pregnant reduces nut allergies in children Article WOMEN who eat peanuts while pregnant are less likely to have children with peanut allergies than women who avoid them, a new US study says. The findings in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Pediatrics were based on a study of more than 8,200 US children. Among those, researchers found 140 cases of children who were allergic to nuts. When they looked into the mothers' diets during and soon after pregnancy, as reported in the Nurses Health Survey II, they found that women who ate fi
  10. Went to Publix today because they're closed this Wednesday for Christmas. Only open until 7 and don't know if every cashier is doing it, but I was given the 5% Senior Discount given to Seniors on Wednesday. Nice of them.
  11. For those looking for authentic Country Music, the Mill Town Music Hall in Bremen will have dates next year with several, including Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, The Charlie Daniels Band, Loretta Lynn, The Oak Ridge Boys and a number of others.
  12. Same thing happened to the Aflack Duck, Gilbert Gottfried, a few years back, when his voice tweeted (funny he didn't quack instead) CNN That's why I won't touch twitter. There should be an optional 30-second delay on tweets.
  13. Can't help myself Saw those Don't Trash Paulding signs around the county and looked at the fine print. Said Trash Douglas Instead Of course all the stuff about Douglas is true!!!
  14. Depending on flight time, you can take the Express Bus from Theatre 278 to downtown Atlanta and transfer to the shuttle. Only runs M-F rush hour both ways. When we needed a shuttle on the weekend, checked several direct buses, there is one in Kennesaw, but door-to-airport, we chose Lee Limo, which charged $65. Lee Limo EMail 404-453-9885 which was the cheapest and found to be very good.
  15. I saw an article a while back that they had several different dates to choose for the start of Christmas, but chose the 25th of December because "December 25th might have also been chosen because the Winter Solstice and the ancient pagan Roman midwinter festivals called 'Saturnalia' and 'Dies Natalis Solis Invicti' took place in December around this date - so it was a time when people already celebrated things." See SOURCE A very early Christian tradition said that the day when Mary was told that she would have a very special baby, Jesus (called the Annunciation) was on March 25th
  16. I do hope that Metro has a GPS, because I was in Cobb when an ambulance was called for on 911 and it went right past our location, having to be called back to the correct location by the local Fire Department, which arrived shortly after without getting lost.
  17. A 28-year-old Douglasville man was killed Sunday afternoon after he walked into the path of an oncoming train. Assan Reavis was wearing headphones and did not see or hear the train coming. A Fairburn man was struck and killed Tuesday afternoon under similar circumstances.
  18. My wife uses the boomerang method, If we get one, we send one back to them the next day. Only got 4 or five this year. Everyone else exchanges cards on Facebook.
  19. From today's AJC On March 5, 1985, Colleen Meadow was found dead in her New York apartment after she failed to show up for work. 21. I'm happy it's not his one man show from Las Vegas --- he's taking a band. The 1-man TV special was so strange, he seemed more like a comedian than a musician, only the last 15 minutes had him singing his songs. The rest had him recounting his voyage from a child following all brands of music and artists, who he made jokes about and sung their songs. It was fun, but we wanted more of his music.
  22. I haven't done a Consumer Say survey for years, but just got an e-mail to redeem my points by the end of the year or they're gone. Turns out I had about $160 worth of points sitting there for gift cards, etc. If you used them, check and see if you have points remaining. Guess I should check the other ones I used to do too!!!
  23. As far as insurance ads go, the one with the idiot pitchman for the "minimum insurance" company, I think it's Direct, annoys me the most. Would you trust this company to give you insurance? I'm tired of the stupid Lottery ads ($15mil ain't enough) and the well-to-do family. Bring back the birds.
  24. I read this was the Broadway version based on the book, not the movie version, so that's why it's not what we remembered. Also, this was the first musical done on TV in 40 years. Carrie dies need to improve acting skills a bit, but we enjoyed it.
