  11. I agree with you...i never said i agree with it, just clarifying that it didnt change HOPE! I just didnt like the way people like to put out the wrong info and get everyone up at arms,
  12. Here is another article... http://chronicle.augusta.com/latest-news/2010-03-26/ga-senate-passes-bill-create-needs-based-scholarships?v=1269601412 My problem with it is that we re tapping into reserves now, so I dont see this being a long term project unless lottery revenues increase.
  13. In doing research on the sponsoring seantor, it doesnt change Hope for students with b averages. It is awarding smaller scholarships based on need for only 600-700 per student. If too many students qualify this amount might be lower. HOWEVER, hope will continue to be available as it has been. This bill DOES NOT change the requirements of a B average, nor does it make income a factor.
  14. According to the AJC: "SB 496 would expand the HOPE scholarship to include a small, needs-based category for low-income college students. Academic performance would play no role in the awarding of the grant. Friday action: Passed Senate, headed to the House.... In other words it would include poor students who might not have a B average. I dont believe it changes the current rules. So, if I read it right, keep a b average and you still will get hope regardless of income....for now
  15. I have ooma...It is a little more expensive (149.00) to get the unit, but it the quality blows att away. Even when i had att dsl and went to ooma instead of att phone it was better, but with Comcast it rocks. Either way it was a great investment...I have had it 9 months or so, and not having a phone bill is great. More than paid for itself and I have caller id, call waiting, answering machine (built into ooma unit), and all of that for $0 a month!! I also got to keep my phone number (I think it was 30 bucks, but that was important to us). With magicjack they are still not to that point ye
