Yeah... My brother lives in Tampa and around him they have lost tons of palms. The problem is people push the boundaries of cold hardiness. I do it on some of my personal palms, but not in the ones I sell (however, you can always has a 100 year freeze and lose some, know matter how careful). In Florida the past decade nurseries have pushed and sold palms that might do ok for years, but when a bad snap, like this year comes, then you are gonna lose 80-90% of the exotics. The coconut palm will never be able to make it there long range, unless you want to invest the time to wrap it and protec -

I am glad to hear it!!....This has been a very bad winter for palms. Although all my cold hardy are doing good, a few of my personal "experiment" palms are struggling. All the cold hardy ones are use to it by now and are just wishing they were in Florida.. They are nice to look at on these yucky and cold days! -

Yeah you are seeing more and more of them around. Most place still are crazy with prices and their knowledge/lack of(lol). I am heading down in February to get another load of palms, stevia, Crepe myrtles, and more...I cant wait till spring to get these out of the greenhouse and start movin' em!.. -
I'm with you. Comcast cable rates are way too high, Satellite is much cheaper especially if you have hd and dvr. However, since switching to Comcast for internet it has worked perfectly!! ALWAYS, had trouble with att! I have ooma telephone so I would neverneed a bundle. Ooma was like 159 to get and you never have a local or long distance phone bill again!!

So Jerry isnt too fond of Daniel Stout...Maybe I have found me a candidate after all!!! -
I often think it is funny how many times I still hear that.... I found a couple of really good videos to show how hardy one species, the Trachycarpus is. The first video is the Princeps, a cousin of the popular windmill. The windmill comes from somewhat similiar regions of Asia, although not as rocky. People who wonder if they can handle rocky or clay soil should notice how they grown on this rock of a mt....BTW it gets into the 20's and lower for most of the winter there at the high elevations... The second video is the common windmill and my favorite the needle palm (bushy and not tr

Really, Clinton made you prosper?? Hey,your prosperity came from a REPUBLICAN revolution of common sense tax and spend principles. When the Republicans took BOTH branches of Congress and forced Clinton to task, then I agree the 90's were a great decade of growth-through tax cuts and spending cuts. Clinton was almost convnced he was a god, Obama has convinced himself of that. There reckless attempts to ramrod health-care and leaning to the left caused the first revolution, and I believe will cause the 2010 one as well!! Now, although I agree the Republicans lost their ways and Congress, but -

Do you believe just because a person disagrees with you then they are "negative"? I have been very civil and tried to debate what facts exists. I have not one time presented my opinion as scientific fact. I have simply used scientific facts gathered by scientist around the world and the inability of Bigfoot" beleivers to produce the simpliest of things such as a single fossil, or a live "bigfoot". I am very open-minded and hope you prove one day that perhaps they do exist. What you should do is present your evidence for all to see. Dont be afraid if someone questions what you have. -

I might make animal lovers come unglued, but if I ever see one and can..I'm gonna drop it where it stands(not for the millions of course... ), for the sake of scientific research I think we ought to focus on the hundreds of palm trees discovered in the last 25 years...The great thing is that MANY of these new palms will live here, and come from climates much colder!! Yea Palms -

I agree..and I believe this has been a very civil thread and people have shared a lot of neat ideas. I dont believe people lie either(the vast majority dont anyway). I truly believe most people believe they have witnessed what they say they do. I just believe peoples eyes and their minds often process something far from the reality of what they saw. I believe if you ever close your mind you will stop learning... -

My quote wasnt incorrect..I said on the globe..ie mammals or large reptiles. Two of the examples you have listed are fossils(which I might add no fossils have EVER been discovered of a "bigfoot" anywhere on the globe)...Lucy and Hobbit are not living on the globe today. The third is a shark which is a sea going animal. Man has seen a small portion of under the waters so I do believe many species are waiting to be found...which is very cool. I apologize if I didnt make that point clear My mistake on that one. However, my point is no large species that live on the earth (mammals or large r -

Sorry you feel that way...I would love to see a link. You should post it. I can tell you that the dna evidence isnt there, but if you want to prove me wrong, I'll admit it when I am wrong..You cant bring up a topic and expect everyone to agree...The evidence is OVERWHELMING that Sasquatch is a fable. If you dont want to be honest and listen to both sides maybe you should ask a moderator to close the thread...I am not arguing with you or change your mind...I think though it is important to tell he truth about "evidence" that doesnt exist -

You are correct. NO DNA, hair, poop, picture, or any other credible evidence exist-NONE. I have read and researched Sasquatch for awhile...It just aint there I'm afraid It has been debunked, it doesnt exist. All we have are peoples accounts and the hope something might exist...To me, if it did we would have evidence...Geeze think of the millions of hunters from the Bering Strait crossers till today. Someone would have dropped them a nice one for the ol' wall by now.. -

There is NO DNA evidence proving an existance of a primate of unknow species in North America-plain and simple... I am not an expert, but I have researched enough on the matter to know that all DNA evidence has been debunked. I too once was a strong believer, or hopeful one anyway. But there is no evidence. I am sorry to say but if DNA evidence existed the airwaves would run "Bigfoot Watch 10'" 24 hours a day..It just doesnt. Also, most of the credible "scientist" ARE not zoologist or biologist but crptozoologist like the man you gave as an example. These people spend there lives look
