Man! Do I feel old!!!!!!!! -
My daughter is in Macon right now finishing up a week of classes before heading to Moldova for a month. She is leaving Sunday from Mercer heading to Moldova to work in the orphanages there. For those, like me, who have no idea where Moldova is, it is in Eastern Europe between the Ukraine and Romania. Long dang way from home! Please keep her in your thoughts as she heads out. This momma is a little stressed! Macon wasn't that far away. This is nearly 5,000 miles away. We have signed on with Skype, so I am hoping to hear from her a good bit. Pictures will be posted once she gets home. A

The most evil thing in the world is a 13yo girl. If we could get an army of them, we could rule the world. Since 13yo girls think we are all lame, it will never work. Yep. Worse, and worse, and worse. Then one day, it isn't anymore. And, when those days stretch into weeks and then into months, you know you have your daughter back. Some girls skip it, but not many. With boys, it seems to hit around 15yo. And it is different. Girls are vicious. Boys just want to look tough.

You're going to do fine. If she sees you are working with her on an issue, she will come to you more readily. And remember, when the aliens replace her with the evil pod clone in the next year or two, your real daughter will still pop in to visit from time to time. And yes, the evil clones are bad. They make middle school girls become demon spawn! And suddenly, mothers are hated, friends are secrets, and information is vague. When it happens, your child isn't crazy. She has just been replaced for a while. Prepare to become the biggest embarrassment ever, and you are reduced to transpo

But if you are hauling them around, you have to consider the cost and wear and tear on your vehicle, as well.

Don't go by the age. Go by the child. Some kids need to do certain grooming things earlier than others. My SIL wouldn't let my nieces where a bra, shave, or use deodorant until they were 13 years old. She said that was the proper age based on her research. These were her stepchildren, so she came in when they were 8 and 9. She didn't have the mothering experience to go with having them. They were meeting another niece in the bathroom to get a bra and deodorant before PE everyday. I finally talked to my brother myself (I was only about 17 at the time). I told him that wearing a bra was not

Car flips, baby injured in Paulding accident
PsychoMom replied to onekidmom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This is the second accident like this in a week. Last week, a vehicle flipped in front of my sister's office in Acworth near I75. The mother was holding an 11 month old baby in her arms. He was thrown from the vehicle. I know he was life flighted to a hospital, but I do not know if he lived. Why risk your babies life? Teach them from the beginning that the car doesn't move unless they are buckled in, and they get it. -
I've never had a Facebook problem with. I avoid the games and such. I set my privacy settings really high, too. My personal address is not listed. Nor do I announce when the house may be empty, or anything like that. But, I do love all the connections I have made.

If it is costing you more to work than you are earning, then it is a no brainer. No one should expect you to take a pay cut if they expect you to pay out more. Unless this is a volunteer job, you got to do what is right for you.

Sadly, it is to offset the parents who do nothing. Plus, ink, paper, staff, etc. Stinks, doesn't it?
-
Because as soon as I mention her highness's name, this bounces into the political forum. But, here's your quote. You can figure out where it came from: You don't have to work. Someone else will foot the bill!

I do not trust anyone who has repeatedly lied to me, stolen from me, or celebrated themselves as a savior of the people. Kind of resembles a lot of government officials. Do I distrust ALL government? No. But stupid people do seem to support the most fanciful liars. They believe them to be looking out for their own good. And that is scary. I see a lot of stupid people who can spout phony numbers to suit their needs. I prefer to make my own decisions about life. But, some people like Big Brother making every single decision for them. Not a matter of distrusting all government, just the ones

No, unemployed is defined as: Persons are classified as unemployed if they do not have a job, have actively looked for work in the prior 4 weeks, and are currently available for work. Check Table B. Still "adjusted" but you get the picture. http://www.bls.gov/news.release/laus.nr0.htm And of course, our wonderful government representatives would never want to decieve Americans. No way! Things are sugar cubes and roses.

Hey, I'm all for clearing off the welfare log. I am not on welfare. Never have been. But I have worked in the welfare system. Made me sick to see those who needed the help not getting it, and those who worked the system getting it all. Of course, now they are encouraging it! They want to let our youth know they can chase their dreams and America will foot the bill for them. Don't worry about paying your bills! We got ya covered. Or did you miss that speech? The seasonally adjusted figures. Of course! Sugar is sweet, isn't it? Cuts the bitterness if you 'adjust' the numbers to look better.
-
And don't forget the "seasonally adjusted" figures. They like to use those because then you see pretty numbers. After all, people aren't unemployed! They are just on vacation!!! What about the mom who had 2 part time jobs? No unemployment for her, even though both jobs let her go. Or the dad who worked as a self contractor for a corporation that went belly up. No more work, but no unemployment. Real life is not on the graphs.
-
Are those based on new claims only? Do they take into account those whose benefits have expired? Or those who didn't qualify for some reason? And which states are these? Now, if you are only talking new claims, then you are just flapping your gums. I want to know the actual numbers, not the phony ones. But, you still haven't listed these mystical cities seeking all America for work.
-
I have and am looking. Unless I am willing to move out of state and make less money than I need to pay for housing out of state, then there isn't much. The field has dried up. I am branching out, and I have options currently, but he is full of crap. Things are not improving for the majority of America. One person getting a job only means it got better for HIM, not for the rest of America. Not bitter. Just honest. I'm actually pretty happy right now. We are surviving on one income, even though it has been reduced as well. But, I refuse to be blind to reality. America is in trouble. It is going

I think it would be a great idea!
-
Well, when you see Tattoo and Mr. Roarke, tell them hello for me. And I'm glad YOUR life is improving. Alas, YOU are not the world. And for the rest of us in the real world, we will keep plugging away. BTW, what city has the abundance of jobs? I am curious. You seem to have the magic 8 ball of jobs out there. So, which city in America is so full of jobs they are desperate for us all to move there for work?

It's a sick, sick world we are in right now if leaving your family is the only option. That is why I have a real problem with what is going on with America. How is it an improvement for America if it encourages the break up of family units? Sick. Really sick. I will survive. And I am, amazingly, a very positive person. But I am also realistic. The reality is, America is in a major mess and we need to smell the coffee. Blaming the past is very popular, but the present isn't helping. It is making things a zillion times worse. My poor grandchildren will be paupers while in pampers.

Yes. And it is an idiotic thing to do. It's a warped and demented version of Ring Around the Rosy. And you can guess what is rosy.

I know it is possible. Even my little angels got into trouble sometimes. Kids make stupid decisions. That is normal. What is not normal is any parent who would encourage it. Especially, for someone else's children. My kids knew that if they ever got in a situation where they were drunk or with someone who was drunk, they could call me and I would be there in a heartbeat to pick them ALL up. I explained that there would be consequences, but much less severe than if I found out afterward. And they also knew I would never allow another child to break the law under my watch. They may have done it,
