  1. But Susan Smith took an opportunity away from everyone else, not using a crowd of people. That is where it stops making sense. Someone familiar with the child would use a simple opportunity. Someone using a crime of opportunity would take a bigger risk using the crowd of people as a shield for getting in the door and finding a wandering child. That is where it loses me at being her. If he had not ever made it to the school that morning, it would be a different story, but he was seen that morning by a few people, just not after she left. Which is when he was walking down the hall alone. If she
  2. I read about that, too. But how many white F150s are there in the area? How many are in Paulding county? I know we have one next door. It is too vague to make her the only person possible to do it. I just don't want them to spend so much time focusing on her that someone else gets away. If she did do it, she will break soon, I just am hesitant to jump on that bandwagon.
  3. I just think this would be a complicated plan for her to execute. She had a bazillion simpler options, why choose this one? Why the riskier of the options? I say another person saw an opportunity and took it, where she had lots of opportunities she never took. If I wanted to kill a small child that lived in my home, I would have a million times a week to do it and pull it off. Why would I want to haul the child to a public event and then chance sneaking him out and getting away with him if I had easier choices? It just doesn't make any sense at all. Why not have him disappear from a Walma
  4. Logic tells me that if the stepmother was planning on killing him, she would have never taken him to school that day, or at least, not gone in the school first. She is supposed to have planned taking him in the school, being seen by people, then sneaking him back out the door and into the truck without being seen by anyone with him as she left. That is just STUPID. Why not have him disappear from the front yard of their home if she planned to kill him? Why add the extra risk of a school full of people seeing you leave with him? Do any of us know exactly how we would respond? What is the ri
  5. I never had the muddy water issue after rain. I have had it after priming the pump. It is very easy to clear though. Like he said, just run the faucet for a bit.
  6. We use a filter on our water line from the well. It keeps the sediment down, which can wreak havoc on your washing machine, hot water heater, etc. If the filter gets full, the pressure starts dropping. I add Borax or Calgon to the wash periodically. It keeps the clothes softer. If you do have hard water, you might need it more often because it helps the detergent work better. You can also get a softener to add to the line, but they tend to be costly. Probably worth it, but I never have had the expendable income to buy one. We always loved drinking our well water. People used to ask for us
  7. I grind it up and use it in my homemade laundry detergent. It shouldn't hurt it to let it soak. I have heard if you rub it on yourself before exposure to poison oak and such that it keeps you from getting it. I guess that could be good for yard work.
  8. I'm thinking, since there was a science fair, there were a lot more people than usual in and out of the school. This means people who shouldn't have been in the school might have been. It could have been someone with no connection to the school, or even the parent of another child. Sex offenders often have children of their own, even those not convicted of their crimes. They could have had a valid reason to be in the school, and suddenly found an opportunity to grab a child alone in a hallway. Or, very simply start talking to the child and convince him there was a frog like his outside or anyt
  9. Remember, it wasn't that long ago that they found the college girl hidden in the wall where electrical wires ran. She walked into a building and just disappeared. Very similar sounding. It ended up being someone who worked in the building.
  10. It makes you glad we have cameras in the hallways at our schools. I hope they find him soon, and safe!

    Skype

My daughter is in Moldova (between the Ukraine and Romania) and with Skype, I could actually see her and know she was okay. The connection was poor there, but it was still good enough to communicate. The issue was the internet at her hotel was the only problem.
  12. I was going to cancel my AT&T phone, but with all the options, it is only $26 because I get the discount for having Internet, and DirecTV. It gives me a discount on the DirecTV, too. The PHONE part is $26. The rest adds up.
  13. And NCO Financial is a scam collection agency. Be careful out there!
  14. I have been checking myself. DirecTV is the only option for cable networks so far. Comcast doesn't come by here, so I can't get internet from them. Verizon has their wireless system, but it is only for one computer. Clear doesn't cover this area. Pretty much leaves me with AT&T. I am trying a network media player and seeing if I can use internet for TV instead of DirecTV. Just started working with it. So far, it seems as though my laptop will have to be home, open, and running to get it going. I need a home computer that can do it, or another idea. I'm stuck right there with you.
  15. Well, mine just went nuts again! It is restarting. I hope they get this fixed. But I have been having an issue the last several days with the satellite status. I guess something must have gone screwy and now they are trying to fix it. I wish they would send a message on there telling you this might be happening for a few days.
  16. Mine wouldn't turn on this morning. I unplugged it and it reset. Then something popped up saying it was an upgrade. It may be that.
  17. Honestly, it sometimes depends on who you have to work for and how they treat you. That includes how they talk to you, what they expect you to do, whether their mood of the day determines how good a job you are doing, and whether the work and pay are consistent and appropriate. If you go to a job where your boss flips out and rants on you day after day, you may decide you are better off figuring out a different solution. I worked at a job briefly where the work was inconsistent and the pay was 1/3 of what I was making on unemployment. It made sense to leave a job that was costing me money to g
  18. Oh! That's at Burnt Hickory Estates, isn't it? I hope everyone is okay.
  19. Very interesting! I do some readings for my friends. Hope she does well!
  20. Of course! My friend is on vacation herself this weekend. Try VRBO.com. I have seen some great deals there.
  21. I would LOVE a thermal camera! I am considering one of those Aura cameras. It can make me enough money to cover the costs of going to these things.
  22. Now that I can agree with! I do love my little journeys close to home. And I hope I get some great shots at the paranormal/psychic convention I am going to next weekend. Working on REALLY opening my mind. lol!
  23. Right now, they have some great deals. The oil spill has ran off a lot of business. You shouldn't have a lot of trouble. But I do have a friend who runs some condos down on the Alabama coast. If you want me to get you her info, I can.
  24. Color me jealous! My first dream in life was to be a photojournalist traveling the world. And where am I? Less than 10 miles from where I was born. But, my daughter is traveling the world and she is chasing her dream. I guess my dream just skipped a generation.
  25. Not a prob! I wish I was taking the class. I used to be a pretty good photographer myself. I miss it!
