  1. I never knew if my grandmother was kidding me about this or if she was serious. Shortly after we landed on the moon, my grandmother told me the earth was flat. I explained that it was round and got my magazine which had pictures of the earth taken from the Apollo missions, showing the earth from space. I said; "see, the earth is round." My grandmother asked me to get a quarter for her, which I did. She took the quarter and held it by the edges between her thumb and forefinger with Washington facing me. She asked; "is this round or flat?" I answered; "it's round." She then held the c
  2. She can't be any worse than some they have had in the past and some they have now. I hope she works a Falcons game this year.
  3. Either way, my fridge never had more than a couple liters of diet coke and may a couple of condiments (out of date).
  4. They applaud in church now? That can't be a Baptist church.
  5. Not sure why we keep sending stuff to Mars. I mean, we know all about that planet and what happened there. They had life on Mars a long time ago, where they built a few canals, some guy sculpted a huge face and they built a few pyramids; then they loaded up their ships and came to Earth hunting water, where they all caught a cold and died. It's an old story; I read it, I heard it, I saw it. (not that last one)
  6. It was nice, we will be going back in a month or so and taking the night tour. That seems like it will be more "interesting" as more of the animals come out at night. They had a major fire in the swamp last year and the park is still trying to recover from that. But they are only a month or so away from getting there.
  7. Wife and I lounged around in the morning, in the afternoon we took a tour of the Okefenokee Swamp, then ate dinner at a restuarant that was in old house in the middle of a pasture, in the middle of nowhere. (seriously; dirt road, grass parking and cows all around) Best prime rib I have eaten since Lawry's in Vegas. Oh by the way, the restuarant didn't take credit cards or debit cards. There we were, no cash on us and the closest ATM was probably at least 30 minutes away. When I asked where the closest ATM was loctaed, they advised they would take a check. This in south GA and I live in Pa
  8. As a former "bag boy"; trained back when we carried the groceries to your car and received a dime or a quarter tip; everyone knows that bread, eggs and bras go at the top of the bag, not on the bottom of the bag where they can be squashed. A squashed loaf of bread or a carton of eggs is never good, neither is a squashed bra.
  9. Raining much in Valdosta? Pouring in Waycross for the past 2 hours.
  10. I remember when if you owned it, you do what you want with it. Ahhh...the good old days.
  11. Circumstantial evidence can be very STRONG evidence, if you have a jury that has some common sense. Some missunderstand reasonable doubt as NO doubt. Example: You and I are the only two people in the house, the doors and windows are locked and there is snow on ground, there is a piece of pie in the fridge when we go to bed. When we get up, the piece of pie is no longer in the fridge and there is a dirty pie plate and fork in the sink. All the doors and windows are still locked and no new snow fell over night and there are no tracks in the snow coming or going from the house. While I di
  12. Thank you for your efforts and courage to run. I hope to get a chance to meet and talk with you again sometime in the future. I enjoyed our last couple of conversations.
  13. I don't drink at all, but it was a funny line. I have repeated it to quite a few people and all got a huge kick out of it. Appologies to momof3 for incorrectly having her stumbling home and to Happy Wife and Mom for not giving her the credit for the quote.
  14. Thank you, I knew it was a mom of some kind. I took it as a joke, I am sure it was.
  15. Sorry about that, someone said it and I thought it was funny.
  16. Thnks 4 the inffo, srry, fingerss tied togethr.
  17. Am I correct in understanding that the cities of Chicago and Boston said that Chic-Fil-A stores were not welcome in their cities? Ohhhhh...I will be a good boy and just keep my mouth shut. But if I was to say anything....Nope ain't gonna do it. But dang it is hard not to. (tying my fingers together)
  18. I would first have to buy into the argument that someone is being discriminated against by the goverment. I have a hard time with that one. And you and I are not going to resolve that in these posts, it will end up a point and counter point. (no religion, just point and counter point)
  19. Are you saying he doesn't have the right to donate his money where he wishes or you just disagree with where he donated?
  20. Maybe I am slow, but I still do not understand. I am not sure what this quote means; "the policy that hides behind God as an excuse to discriminate and put his religious ideas on the rest of us", Is he not allowed his personal beliefs? Is he not allowed to state his beliefs and to support those political candidates that have similar beliefs? Isn't that what we all (well, not all) just did yesterday? Isn't that what many did by putting signs in their yards and posting on message boards and giving donations to candidates? My mother has the same beliefs as Cathy, should her work place be pi
  21. Then I am confused on what everyone is upset about.
  22. I always do exactly what I want to do. My wife tells me what I want and I do it. It seems to work out well.
