  1. Closer to the river is a Marriott Courtyard and a Fairfield Inn. They are right near the river and Creative Discovery/Aquarium/etc.
  2. I just had to look up trouncing. Why have I never heard that before? Lol But you are right: turnout was pitiful. I'm always pretty shocked at voting turnouts.
  3. Yikes! I'm sure it will be fine, then. We are supposed to have sunny skies and temps in upper 80s the whole time.
  4. RM and LPPT, was there much structural damage from the storm/flooding earlier this month? I'm going on Thursday and hope to only see the ocean/beach/beach bar anyway, but I'm curious of the conditions.
  5. I voted. But I find it irritating you have to vote either R or D. There are no dems I'd vote for, but it's be nice to have third party candidates on the ballot in the primaries. The ballot/voting laws in GA remind me of a bunch of good ol' boys.
  6. http://m.premiumoutlets.com/Outlet/sanmarcos/brandcategories This is there, too: http://www.tangeroutlet.com/sanmarcos/ They are right next to each other. Upscale, and very nice. I loved it. We stopped on the way from San Antonio to Austin, I think it's a bit of a hike from Houston. I'm thinking its an hour or less north of San Antonio?? I can't remember!
  7. My in-laws used to live in Sandestin (year 'round) nd I spent many long weekends there. It was so fun. And The only shopping that comes close to Silver Sands is the outlet mall in San Marcos, TX.

    Anyone notice

It's military, I'm sure. We have thre cargo planes fly low up here in High Shoals area often. I saw them today.

  10. My mother has Lyme disease. She has a terrible time with it. In addition to all of the other issues is causes, she woke up one morning a few months ago and was blind. She couldn't see anything, but was very sensitive to any light - she said it was like a million tiny daggers. He vision came back within 24 hours, but it still comes and goes. She has seen several doctors and finally was sent to a specialist familiar with vision/Lyme disease in Birmingham but they still have no real answers. My BFF's you her sister was diagnosed a couple of months ago. She and her husband went hiking at C
  11. Isn't that the truth?! I want to USE my pool this year instead of drain it every couple of days like I did last year.
  12. I remember reading that the vast majority of those that enrolled in Obamacare are actually people that lost their coverage with the passage of this law. I, personally, know many people that lost coverage. I only know of one person that got Obamacare who didn't have prior coverage.
  13. I'm sorry. I found out that since ours has quadrupled, and we pay an "opt-out fee" yearly, my Cadillac plan is no longer very good. My meds I have to take for UC have gone up to $1300.00 for a three month supply from $30/3 months. I contacted the manufacturer and got a discount card - it's now a whopping $880/3mo. YAY! Needless to say, I am no longer taking my meds. We don't have a co-pay any longer, but instead we are billed at a later date for about 75% of total cost. There is so much more. Grrrr. And I'm sorry about Dis Jr.
  14. Okay... I didn't realize that was DDD. I thought it was that other guy that used to post on GON. The guy they call the Mexican or something? I can't remember, lol. I don't post in GON, but follow the weather threads when it gets bad.
  15. His name is DDD and he's on GON. And he's always right.

    Rhubarb

Yes! It has started! I haven't been able to go yet, but it's been running since first weekend of April. Mrs G, Kroger at 61/278 has parsnips. They are right next to the bagged carrots (not organic). I've never eaten or cooked a parsnip, not sure how to or what they taste like.
  17. ^^^ This! It's been about 7 years since I've been, but they were really good. They had AYCE for a pretty good price.
  18. Dice potatoes. Heat oven to to 425. Whole the oven is heating, melt butter in a metal pan. Enough butter to coat the potatoes evenly. When melted, add oregano and Lawrey's seasoned salt. Toss potoes. Bake for 20 minutes, then toss potatoes. Cook until toasted evenly. Best ever.
  19. Tonight we had cilantro lime rice (Chipolte style), mushrooms with cumin/oregano/red onions/etc. burritos in "homemade" tortillas then brushed with EVOO infused with cilantro and garlic. I loved it. MrB ended up eating last nights left overs. For breakfast this morning I made 100% whole wheat organic blueberry pancakes (from scratch) served with warm real maple syrup (also organic), turkey bacon, and fresh strawberries topped with organic vanilla yogurt. MrB didn't want to like it, but he ate his tail off and admitted it was actually the best breakfast I've ever made. And it was.
  20. HA! I'm not the only one! I didn't hear/feel it, whatever "it" is. But I'm so excited to know I'm not the only one tha looks at the time when something "strange" happens in case the cops come around looking to pinpoint a crime time. LOL (Imadork)
  21. You, my friend, are a MUCH better person than I. I am SO sorry you even have the notion of having to deal with that!
