I guess I'm a major dork. I tivo every Jeopardy episode..... History Professor from Dallas, GA Chris Staaf He risked $9,999 and missed the final question (along with everybody else), so he ended up in last place with $1. It was close going into the final question with everybody from $10,000 to $16,000, but Chris was in last and basically had to risk it all to have a chance at winning.

$4 million widening of Bill Carruth Parkway
jsbeagle replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Sorry for the confusion, I was only talking about Bill Carruth Pkwy. The design for widening Bill Carruth Pkwy from 278 to the Norfolk Southern bridge was completed just a couple months ago. It was started from scratch in early 2009 and completed early this year. I originally set up the CAD sheets for the project from the survey and delivered the completed plan sets to Paulding DOT for bidding just a couple months ago. -
$4 million widening of Bill Carruth Parkway
jsbeagle replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I just looked at the drawings and it is 45 mph the whole way. The project goes from 278 just up to the bridge over the Norfolk Southern. That bridge will not be touched. The bridge over the Silver Comet will actually be widened, so no "new" bridge adjacent. The half of the project nearest the bridges has guardrail. -
Settling Credit Card Dept. How do I do it?

Pretty sure that after a certain number of years (7 maybe), they can no longer go after you for the debt. Doesn't mean they won't try.... -
$4 million widening of Bill Carruth Parkway
jsbeagle replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I work for the company that actually did the design work for Paulding DOT, in fact I did a decent portion of the work on it. It is correct that it will be widened to one side only. It will be paved full depth on the new side and overlay on the existing. Construction will be staged so that traffic will be able to pass. The project originally was only to widen to the first bridge, but was later extended to include both bridges. That should allow for easier widening in the future. I don't work much in the bridge design side of things, so I'll have to look at some plans tomorrow to see what -
For those of you not keeping up with this outside of here: http://www.ajc.com/news/dekalb/uncle-arrested-after-returning-462403.html They showed up today after a short trip to the beach. The kid wanted an ice cream from Florida, so they went to the beach to get it. A neighbor said: Strickland and Evan "really love each other, those two," "He has taken care of that little boy since he was born. He's more like a dad to him." I just don't understand how they can really arrest the guy for kidnapping if he is the usual caretaker. They decided to go to the beach - so what. The real iss

I'm wondering how many people out there think that they didn't actually have to pay any taxes because they're "getting some back". What you're getting back is what you overpaid the government throughout the year in the first place!

It sounds like the uncle is the one that normally takes care of the kid. The parents saw him at church, but not since. When the uncle didn't take him to day care, they called the cops. Does that make any sense? If he's so unstable, then why is he keeping the kid and/or getting him to day care? Something seems a little fishy. Once they find the kid, I think DFACS needs to look further into why someone that is known to be so unstable is allowed to take care of a child.

It really depends on who is trying to retrieve it. Anything that is "deleted", even after the recycle bin has been emptied can be recovered for a limited amount of time. Deleting a file only gets rid of the index reference to the file. Its still actually there, but can be overwritten if something else is saved to the drive. Until it is overwritten, it can be recovered using certain software or tools. If you're really trying to get rid of something, there are programs that can delete files for good.

Not to scare you, but immediately after my last one, I ended up in the floor of the health dept for a good 45 minutes after close. I never passed out, but was probably as close as you can get and solid white. I'm still sensitive to needles probably because of the barrage of them when I had allergy testing when I was 3! For that reason, I haven't been tested since, but I assume I'm still off the chart for peanut anaphylaxis.

We'll be down there, but we stay away from the strip. We camp at St. Andrews State Park on the end of the beach and stay away from all the crowds. Hoping the water warms up quick so there's actually some fish to catch.

I didn't see it when it first popped up on the horizon, but it was still pretty big when I saw it.

It wasn't so much that I wanted him to be hurt, but more that I wanted him to be stopped before he hurt anyone else. Crotch rockets can usually outrun the police, especially if there is moderate to heavy traffic. Even if the police did get him, a ticket likely won't stop those actions in the future. Realizing on their own is sometimes the only way.

I have seen a crotch rocket weaving through traffic on Macland up in Cobb twice in recent months. The one last week I was still on the 4 lane part and the first thing I noticed was the sound of it basically at my door. He was going between me and the car next to me. This was around 7:00 pm, so there was a little traffic, but he made great time going through everybody. If he wasn't having to maneuver, he was going 80+ mph. After we got to the 2 lane part I could barely see him passing several cars going easily 70 or 80 in the oncoming lane in a no passing zone (limited sight distance). The

I got Hope for 3 semesters. I started out at GT, so keeping a B average was not an option. It just doesn't happen.

I'm finally getting out of college at 25 this summer (been working a little during the day/school at night). Wife is a teacher, so we don't make much money at all. I got the Pell grant one year, but ever since, I've received nothing (nothing but student loan offers - yuck!). It seems that the best way to receive pell is to be in debt. They base it heavily on cash in savings. While our income is very small, we are savers, and have managed to have a little bit of money in the bank along with no debt other than a mortgage and whatever is on the credit cards for the month. Since we bought a forecl

What if they destroyed/removed the mailbox with mail still in it? Would that make it a federal offense? If so, you could just leave one piece of junk mail in it all the time. We're usually not too thrilled about the street light in the yard that shines straight through the foyer and into the bedroom (if the door is open), but it might just discourage some punks from hitting us.

JediTreeRat has it right. If your computer is a brand name (HP, Dell, etc) it likely came with a "recovery disc". Newer models actually have this built right into a special section of their hard drive. You can look in the manual that came with the computer if you don't have something called a recovery disc. If you can't find the manual, its easy to find on the manufacturer's website. If your computer was built by a smaller local type company, or by a friend, then you'll just have the operating system disc (Windows XP, or whatever). It will be able to do the same thing. To fully prote

That camera angle is almost too good to be legit. Also, do you think in real life she would have kept her hair where it was, or would she have pulled it to the left side. Another thing, why would someone be filming this, and did the professor not see the camera? The guy also didn't duck. It was almost like he leaned into the eraser. I hate to be a downer, but I think it was all an act.
