  1. I agree. A good parent knows what works for their kids and what dosen't.
  2. That's funny. I agree consistency and follow through is VERY important. I have a few friends who are constantly threatening their kids but never follow through. Their kids aren't much fun to be around. Therefore we don't see them very often.
  3. The Bible says lots of things. My daughter has never done anything to warrant a spanking. Shes 15 and definitely not spoiled. Shes a really good kid. My son has some developmental issues and is 2. Like I said before, I will never say never. But at this point spankings are not the answer for his issues. I grew up around violence, I'm pretty sure that has a lot to do with why I can't hit my kids.
  4. I would rather not see a kid being spanked in public. It's awkward for everyone involved. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure you can go to jail for that nowadays. I don't spank my kids, I just can't. I have absolutely nothing against people who spank their kids, it's just not right for me. So far so good, my kids are pretty good kids. I will never say never, but it would have to be something pretty serious if I did ever lay a hand on my child.
  5. Of course!! This is Paulding County, where they shoot off fireworks on St. Patrick's Day, Mother's Day, NASCAR opening day.... I fully expect my neighbors to be shooting off fireworks for the next three nights, at least.
  6. 1 lb bratwurst sausage (about 4 links) 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced 1 bottle beer (12 oz), preferably seasonal or flavored (i.e. pumpkin beer or holiday beer) 1 tbsp olive oil 1/2 tsp salt 1 tbsp brown sugar 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce Directions: Turn on the grill outside and let it heat up. Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large saucepan. Once hot, add the onions and saute for about 10 minutes, until golden. Add the thinly sliced garlic and saute for another three minutes until toasty. Add the bratwursts
  7. I made brats last night with a caramelized onion "beer sauce". Holy crap they were good. I'll send you the recipe, whether you want it or not. Actually, I'll just post it here when I get to my computer.
  8. Cheeseburger meatloaf, roasted brussel sprouts and caramelized mushrooms with sherry bacon cream sauce, collard greens and rolls.
  9. I forgot to mention in my first post, I really like hot sauce and all things spicy. I never get sick and I'm convinced it's because I eat so many spicy foods that no virus can survive in my body.
  10. Man, that sounds good!! Thanks for the idea! I made chicken in wine sauce, pan fried asparagus and garlic, brown rice and rolls.
  11. I enjoy cooking. It's my favorite thing to do. I like afternoon thunderstorms, cloudy days, deep conversations with my teenager, reading books with my toddler, The real housewives of every County on Bravo, my husbands silly jokes, my and all animals (except snakes). I like that I have surrounded myself with good friends who care and don't do drama. I love John Denver and Muse. And I like Dana!! She supposed to be bringing me a bag full of $20 bills. Where the heck is she?!?
  12. Thanks for the heads up! I do love a good hallmark Christmas movie. I was disappointed last Christmas when they didn't play my favorite, the one with John Denver. I believe it's called a Christmas gift? That reminds me, I should email the Hallmark Channel and request it for this upcoming Christmas season.
  13. Here is a link to the recipe- hope it works. http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=1957943 My apologies for the hijack,Crossroads. ETA- ok, for some reason the directions part of that link dosen't work. I will type them out and PM them to you later. This is the only link to the original recipe I could find. It's from her Southern Cooking Bible cookbook.
  14. I'm over all of it, I just hope she keeps putting out new recipes and cook books. Her smothered steak and onions recipe will make you slap your mama. That's all I care about, the food.
  15. I have BBQ spareribs in the crockpot. Chipotle Ranch pasta salad and fries on the side.
  16. Even my signature contains a mix. My n's only have one hump.

    Pigeon

Some people have cute puppies, cool tagged birds and homeless cats show up in their yards. I get injured birds and snakes.
  18. I met Rick flair in 2006. He was a nice guy. Shorter than I had imagined. He was orange.
  19. Same here. I guess I'm in the minority on this, I honestly don't care if my kids know how to write in cursive or not. I don't think it's necessary in today's world, and by the time they are adults, it will be even less necessary.
  20. The first thing that came to my mind while watching, was The regular guys show "redneck" sound byte. Redneck.
  21. That's awesome. I grew up in powder Springs, the last day I spent in my childhood home was the same day I left to have my daughter at the hospital. I was 20. I lived with my parents at the time. They were moving to a bigger house in Woodstock because my grandmother was in ill health and needed to move in. They completed the move while I was still in the hospital. That was weird, it's like my life changed forever in so many ways all at once. I have driven past my old house a few times. At one point it was abandoned and a complete mess. I was so sad to see it that way. I parked and got out of my
  22. You're being awfully bold, asking all of these questions. Sorry, couldn't help it.
  23. I agree. It's worth a watch.
