  1. That's really awesome. Too bad such a good heart has to leave so soon.
  2. I get it. I kind of felt the same way at first. But I've had a kid in school for 12 years now and I'm used to "sharing". I've never seen a list like the one you posted though. Honestly, I'm willing to bet teachers aren't that concerned with brand names. Considering how little help they actually get from parents these days. I'm assuming they will welcome any help they can get.
  3. I always wait until open house to buy school supplies. Many times teachers don't require what is on the list or require something that isn't on the list. I can definitely see how the list posted by the OP could bee too much for some folks. I'm not sure I would have been able to afford all of that when my daughter started school. That said, I always contributed to my daughters teachers throughout the school year. Some can't contribute that much and some simply won't. All of the extras are making up for the cant's and wont's. Personally, I'm ok with it. Whether the parent is not financially abl
  4. Congrats Rhonda! To you and the whole fam! Beautiful baby and mama. I sure as heck didn't look that good after I gave birth. There are few things sweeter than a newborn baby girl. Great, now I'm getting all teary again.
  5. Exactly this. I teared up a little bit too. I really needed this today. You made me smile and brightened my day, I thank you very much, Beach bum. I feel the same way about you. This is like a random act of kindness, and I love it.
  6. I wonder what he's doing now, he was a real weirdo.
  7. Your hearts are safe, I'm sure. Bleck. I grilled a balsamic-garlic marinated tenderloin along with some skewered mushrooms and onions. on the side we had mashed potato casserole and Black-eyed peas.
  8. Yep, the exact same thing happened to us that happened to your friend. Then when they deleted our email, I seriously couldn't believe it. We were livid. One more mistake and we're done.
  9. dang you! I was thinking, holy crap, hope she's ok! Knock on wood, I haven't cut myself while cooking in a long time. I seem to be more prone to burns than cuts.
  10. Yikes! This reminds me of something my little brother did when we were kids. We were camping at Lake Allatoona and my brother was chopping twigs with my dad's big sharp knife. He put his foot up on a log and proceeded to try to chop off a stick that was attached to the log. The knife went right through the stick and into my brothers ankle. Blood squirted out like a water fountain. I will never forget it as long as I live. This was before cell phones. My mom ended up having to drive him to the hospital. She was frantic! We ended up getting behind a fire truck and my mom flagged them down. They
  11. Very sweet. That poor little boy, no kid should ever have to go through something like that. Breaks my heart.
  12. This trial has made a lot of people say really stupid things. Suggesting those who thought Zimmerman should be found guilty are somehow in thought alignment with the Black Panthers. Zimmerman supporters are all racist. Martin supporters are all Liberals, etc. If there wasn't so much of that going on, intelligent conversations and debate might ensue. Of course, I know better than that around here.
  13. Well if were going to be ridiculous, let's ask ourselves where does the KKK stand on this issue? I mean, seriously.
  14. We had to switch to U-verse as well, for Internet. It was a nightmare. They deleted our email address and we had to jump through hoops just to get it back. Thankfully I have a friend who works for AT&T and he got us in contact with the "presidential office", or who knows what may have happened, it might still be unresolved. And yes, our Internet has been slow and unpredictable ever since.
  15. WHAT?? It closed. Poor Blondie. She will be heartbroken.
  16. Right? Can you imagine their surprise seeing George Zimmerman at their rescue? I think I would have to pinch myself to see if I was dreaming. Crazy!
  17. She was wearing polka dots just like Diana did after William was born.
  18. I just saw this on Facebook. It cracked me up.
  19. Nope, mine. I have a black belt and I'm not afraid to use it.
  20. Do they already know the sex and just aren't saying? Or is it a surprise for them too? Anyone know?
  21. Dude, you troll around here being an A-hole to everyone you don't agree with. Yet you have the nerve to refer to other people as trolls? Go read your "one of these days" thread. Make sure you look in the mirror while reading post #1. I have never been called an idiot or a liar by the people you are so intolerant of. I can't say the same for you. who is really hurting this site?
