  1. He did the right thing. And he didn't even have to go on an immature rant to get his point across! I love to see adults acting like adults.
  2. I dig the song they play on the radio. I haven't heard anything else from her.
  3. If you ask me, Aussie mom has a temper and has trouble thinking before she acts, out if anger. If daughter is anything like mother, she's not going to back down over her mother publicly humiliating her. She's teaching her daughter to be a hothead when things don't go her way. I guess I'm the oddball, I choose to act dignified in front of my children and I try to be rational when handing out punishments. Because I hope that is the way they will react when they are adults and things don't go the way they hoped. Be strict, be vigilant, be a good parent, don't be a drama queen and air your dirty l
  4. I'm all for keeping guns out of the hands of criminals. How do we keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill?
  5. It's such a thoughtful gift and Rhonda does awesome work! Happy anniversary!
  6. I can understand taking the tickets away, I can't understand causing such a scene complete with name calling and insults. Tell the kids they can't go and sell the tickets. The public display of ranting and raving isn't a very good example to set IMO. It kind of reminds me of the dad who shot up his daughter's laptop. Calm down. It's not necessary to go ballistic while handing down punishments to your children. Just my take.
  7. Yes, before it was a bank. I think. It's a nice store. They have a little bit of everything. We will definitely be going there for our next TV purchase, and possibly for a new mattress soon.
  8. Value vault has good deals on mattresses. They are kind of across from Dallas tire in the building that used to be a bank. There is also a new mattress store in the new hope Publix shopping center. I can't think of the name.
  9. I agree. I tend to take it personally when I see a person texting and driving. I feel like what they're really saying is, what I have to say via text is more important than your safety and the safety of your children. There are very few things that piss me off nowadays, and this is one of them. This and the fact that East Paulding high school only has one exit.
  10. I wonder if she would be cool with me driving her kids around while I text and drive? I see people texting while driving, All. The. Time. People think it can't happen to them. I guess.
  11. My brother never had red hair growing up, but now he has a red beard and his son has red hair. I'm kind of jealous. My hair is turning white. My mom had a full head of white hair by the time she reached her late 30s. I'm next.
  12. I agree. We needed something my daughter could do her homework on. We opted for a desktop. I will never buy a laptop again. Too many problems. Other than that, I would say iPad.
  13. Italian sausage, peppers, onions, spinach and pasta with a creamy wine sauce. Kale chips and garlic bread on the side.
  14. True. I can't decide if I just assume the best in people or if I'm completely naïve. I never considered this scenario.
  15. I'm so glad. I've been sharing her picture like crazy. I read last night that her mom had to be hospitalized because she was so distraught. It broke my heart. This is fantastic news.
  16. Taylor Swift is president of the cray crays. If you ask me.
  17. I have learned from my boy that there is no such thing as small victories. Although this past year has been one of the most difficult of my entire life, it has taught me to find overwhelming joy in even the smallest things. We still have difficult days, but for the most part I can't believe the feeling of thankfulness I have almost all the time. it has given me an extremely healthy perspective on life. First came acceptance now contentment. I'm happy. And I love seeing you happy NC. I'm proud of you.
  18. Beach? What's that? It's been so long.... We're going to the zoo next week, it's one of few places I can bring my teenager and my toddler that they both will enjoy.
  19. What??? I'm really excited about this Christmas, my little boy will be 3, it should be fun. I don't want to get tired of it before it even gets here.
  20. It was a family tradition to listen to it on the way to my grandmas every thanksgiving. Right after we all sang "Over the river and through the woods".
  21. Oh honey, that's not just your husband. I think that's most husbands.
  22. Mr. Magoo? I think it's kind of cute too. ETA- that rhymed.
  23. Thanks y'all. And thanks to those who PM'd me as well.
