A few years ago when i looked into it for a relative, you had to "sponsored" by a law enforcement agency to go to the academy and could not just go yourself and pay. It may have changed since then. Most people nowadays just go to chattahoochee tech and enroll in their criminal justice program to get hired somewhere, but that does not get you POST certified (peace officers standards & training) for the state of georgia. I know you said it was not behind, but they may have been estimating the reading for a month or so, and it finally caught up to the real reading. Standard water meters don't read high when they screw up, they will read low. The wheel can't turn faster than the water flowing through it. That said, if the water usage is high suddenly, then start looking for a leak on your side of the meter. First step would be to shut off the house valve in the basement or crawl space, if the meter is still running or you can hear flow, then the leak is in the yard somewhere. I have not seen any of the new

You are correct to be concerned about a jump in the billing and checking the actual meter reading, it could have been a leak. Don't stress too much, since the meter reader was reading it wrong or the wrong address was read, etc, it most likely would be caught up/corrected on the next month cycle when it was read correctly (then you would owe little or nothing that month).

Hexane (a neurotoxin) is a byproduct of gasoline refining. Soybean processors use it as a solvent for a cheap way of extracting oil from soybeans, a necessary step to making most conventional soy oil and soy protein ingredients used in other foods.

The fair was ok this year, not great but ok. We went saturday. No fun house, no one in the dunking tank and the teens were bored with only a few rides that they could ride (really 10 or 11 total). I forgot the actual height numbers, but with the majority of the things to ride, you could not be taller than 48" or 50", so the teens could not ride with the little ones, etc. On the bigger rides, if the child was tall enough, they had to ride with a parent, not with a teen, etc...... of course, many times there were no signs posted, so you would not find out until getting to the ride gate. Too ma

I am curious, is that a crime, finding something on the side of the road? (not a bank bag full of money)-- Exactly what does the police charge him with? How was the police report written up? as a theft? I mean it wasn't a theft as in entering auto theft or theft by taking. A good citizen should make an effort try to look for the owner. Was there any name or phone or address in the sax case? I agree that i would keep an eye on craig's list posts. The paulding and douglas neighbor newspapers and chapel hill newspaper are also places where people (old school) will place ads looking

drove across the new bridge this morning....... somehow not as exciting as i expected. too smooth, too quiet
-
no, it will not be "finished" by 9/29, just they are re-routing traffic across the new bridge then. It will still be a construction zone at 35 mph for a while longer as they finish the guard rails and tearing up the temp bridge.

That is true as long as you are in the government system / FAFSA. The way i understood the original post, they were looking for private student loans, not Stafford loans, PLUS loans or FAFSA related. --- Private bank student loans do not require parents to co-sign the debt, they just would like you to and will try to tell you that it is required for the student to get the loan. As always, be careful about co-signing for anything you can't afford in case you get stuck with it. (like $125,000 med school student loans)
-
If the kid is listed as a dependent on the parent's taxes, then the parents assets and income are considered and will be part of the paperwork. Even if the child is not a dependent, private bank student loans will try to get you as the co-signer on the account. They will sweet-talk you and tell you it is required, etc when it is not. Be aware, student loans can't be discharged at bankruptcy, and they will get the money from you if the student goes into default.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering because the union web site job board only had a few jobs on it statewide.

That is what we did after looking at the price for a new water heater. I replaced the dip tube and since the plastic drain valve started leaking, I replaced it with a regular brass water faucet valve. Total cost approx $15. It is still going another 5 years -- 15 years total. If you really want to update the water heater, then also replace the Anode too ($15) and add a thermal expansion tank for safety ($45)

While you are on the waiting list for the union training school to start, you could almost finish the 9 month program at a tech school (certificate or diploma). Tech schools are free too when you get a Pell grant. Actually, if you get HOPE & Pell together, you will get paid to go to school $200 to $900 a month (checks at the end of each semester). I have seen some students triple-dip with either VA money or disability or unemployment retraining money coming in too, depending on your situation. Also, i went to the ibew613 web site today and i saw 1 job opening @ $29 for someone

Sorry to hear about your grandfather's injury and surgery. It took liberty mutual 22 months before settling my claim on a car accident in 2008, and that's with no injuries. So, yes, you are out of luck if you are waiting to use that money to replace your car. ---- That is, if you have only minimum coverage / liability only. Good thing we were covered by our own insurance until the claim was settled. All insurance companies try to give you wholesale for the value of the vehicle anyway.
