Snow memories and more.... about 15 years ago when my oldest son was 3 i tought him how to write his name in the snow...... It actually involved turning some white snow yellow. Last night my yougest 14 was so excited with the fact that we had a real accumulation of snow he was up to after 1am because he was in the back playing in the snow. He did come in and announce he had to write his name in the snow. I got the look from my wife.....Ladies we have the gift we have to use it. Any other crazy memories... stories?

Wow what do i miss... having my grandparents live behind us. Running to there house for a stick of gum (juicy fruit the old flavor) a cold pepsi in a glass bottle. The amazing grate in the middle of the floor that brought the heat up from the furnace. We would stand on the grate covered from playing in the snow and defrost. Going to my other grandparents and smell the spices of her cooking and her frail skinny body giving us the best hugs. Now that i live so far from dad i miss just being around him how he would make all of our cares dissapear. I hope I am doing that for my kids....

I had to keep watching the women who snuck up and hit him with her purse. Since it is over I can laugh but she looked like a cartoon sneaking up on him. I just want to say THANK YOU to our neighbor. We were out for a while the other day and came home to find our front porch so nicely decorated with garland and they left us with wreathes to finish decorating. Long story short wife is working full time, going to grad school full time (with a 4.0)to keep her job and my health issues almost makes keeping up on a day to day basis impossible. you can teach them but once they are out of your site you have to pray they will make it thru the stage of doing what they want and still be alive. My dad was very strict and laid out the law but when I left for college he could not be there to stop me. And I must say many years later I think I turned out ok. The difference they are in the spotlight. give them time to grow. This was hard for me to realize especially since my kids are now in the idiot stage...hoping it will end soon

We always would go somewhere Church/movies/friends house on christmas eve and wehn we arrived home there was 1 gift per child under the tree with a namm tag on each gift, 2 reasons for the gifts the 1 gift was always pajamas so the kids had new pajamas to look nice in the next morning for pictures. Each child's pajamas were wrapped in a particular wrap and hada name tag for only them (each child had a different wrap) so they would know whos gifts belonged to who
