I have built parking decks. There will always be a demand for parking decks as the population continues to grow. Your workers could use the transit to go to and from work. Building materials would still have to be trucked in. Handouts, hardly. More of an investment in the future.

Mass transit inside Atlanta Region would be worthy and beneficial if it reached the citizens and they would use it.

And this bothers us how? We are in Region # 1, not in Atlanta Region.

A lot of folks do not remember the lack of paved roads, the lack of stores, the lack of businesses, the lack of jobs, the lack of county water, the lack of entertainment and much more...We only got those by taxing ourselves. We can not stand still during the progress of the neighboring communities. We will be another 30 years behind.

NO, it can not. READ the Project List. Your county leaders chose those to be paid for by this Tsplost. Each county in this region summitted a list. In regions that pass the tax: o 75% of each region’s tax proceeds (85% in the Atlanta Regional Commission) will fund projects on the final project list approved by the Regional Roundtable. The project list is approved.

• Each region may levy a 1% sales tax for 10 years (2013 -2022) to fund transportation projects. • Funds collected in each region must be spent in that region and are not subject to Congressional District balancing laws. In regions that pass the tax: o 75% of each region’s tax proceeds (85% in the Atlanta Regional Commission) will fund projects on the final project list approved by the Regional Roundtable. o 25% of the region’s tax proceeds (15% in ARC) will be divided among the region’s local governments to spend on transportation projects of that government’s choosing, i.e

There was topic on the Tsplost here on Pcom some time back. It had links to info that would answer all your questions.

This is a special tax for special road projects in our area. The improvements are needed and wanted...BUT no one wants to pay for them. How many years have we heard the bitching about 61 South? And Hiram is tough to get through as is Dallas. No one wants to recognize that the road projects that were scheduled before this will be continued as laid out.

There may be a lack of qualified personel in a given area, but the biggest problem is the companies' desire to get the best qualified for the cheapest rate.
