For those that do not know me, I helped raise step-kids and my kids from two wives. The step-kids were never spanked by me, but their mother did the spanking and talking to. My kids, each was different and they were disciplined differently. The oldest got normal spankings. The second got talking to. The third got spankings, talking to and whatever else his mother could think of. The fourth got normal spankings and many talking to. My mother would use a hickory on us boys and on the grandchildren plus a severe talking to.

I have known several that had to prove they were still alive after SS stopped their check.

I will give you one example. My wife died Jan '08, 2009. I sent a copy of the death certificate to SS. They sent her check to our mail box for the next three months. I had to take the checks to SS to get them to stop.

I am related on the Gravley side. Dad's mother was a Gravley from Emerson.

There is a large sandstone about 2 miles southwest of Crossroads that is said to have been visited by De Soto. It is said there are a line of these sandstones going to Louisiana and further southwest.
