Manners.............. Do you practice using them in your Family?

Absolutely!! It's not to get a medical history; it's just to be courteous. -

Yeah, you're right. Why should anyone expect another person to be mannerly? Oh, did you know that down here when people wave to you they use all five fingers? -
If memory serves me correctly, it is to the left of where you check in when you get there. I remember we were seated. It reminded me a lot of the DOL office in Kennesaw except they actually tried to help you. I think there are several "windows" straight across from the door where they call you. Also an area around to the right like where you do the paperwork for admission or testing at Paulding Hospital ER. When we were there, we kept seeing people walk in, sign in, sit down and then get called to the window within about 15 minutes. We kept sitting there and sitting there and sittin

When we went, it wasn't bad. Seemed like the wait was about an hour. Take a book. There should be places to sit. I think they take down your name and then call you when they are ready for you. It could be you take a number and they call you. We were there for my husband to apply for disability, so they may do that differently. I remember seeing a bank of monitors and the numbers would come up on there.

Yes, I know that.

This is my pet peeve. Manner #8 When people ask you how you are, tell them and then ask them how they are. I HATE when you ask someone how they are and they just said "fine" and walk off. At least return the gesture. Even if you're not interested in how that person is doing, you can be polite. -
Yep. That works quite well. And that same tactic works to defeat that shoplifting deterrent they have at the grocery store, too. Just walk out with someone else. And then run for your car, in case someone in the store actually stops the person you walked out with.

If it were discovered, that code would be deactivated. At least that is how one storage place I am familiar with does it. And what about having that thing chained or locked somehow?
-
So much for "security", huh?

Did you not read reply #16 where I quoted verbatim the form and said "But yes, she could buy one for her husband." That IS what I said. My original post was incorrect. I made that statement based on what I remembered I was told when I went to purchase my pistol. That I could not buy it FOR someone else who was not eligible to own a firearm. That last part is what I forgot. Believe it or not, I have slept since I purchased my pistol and I've been under a tremendous amount of stress the last three weeks. I very easily could forget my NAME right now. I spoke too soon.

I quote them often to my chronic condition support groups. Denial Anger Bargaining Depression Acceptance.

I not only read but I QUOTED VERBATIM question 11a on the ATF form. I also said that yes, she could purchase one for her husband as she is giving it as a gift. But whatever. I could say the sky is blue and the grass is green and you'd say I was wrong. I could say a few other things but I don't need a bullet right now.

The ATF form says: Are you the actual transferee/buyer of the firearm(s) listed on this form? WARNING: You are not the actual buyer if you are buying the firearm(s) on behalf of another person. If you are not the actual buyer, the dealer cannot transfer the firearm(s) to you. But yes, she could buy one for her husband. When Academy transferred possession of my pistol to me, they had to hand it to ME personally.

Also, try Academy Sports. I got my pistol at Academy. Better price than I found anywhere else, including online.

EDITED TO REMOVE MY INCORRECT STATEMENT. Wild West Traders on Austell Road, near where Windy Hill comes into Austell Road, is a good place. Good selection, good prices. If you're interested in online, try Bud's Gun Shop.

You stated it so well. Thank you. Exactly! "She" is gone. Her body remains behind. This was where my nephew struggled with my mom's imminent death. How could she be gone from us when she is breathing? It's a tough decision and I don't envy the parents. But they must do what is best for her, not for them.

My question was about security at the storage facility. Does it have a gate with a passcode? If so, should be easy to figure out who was there at that time. Since everyone chooses their own passcode, unless they gave the code to someone else, that would most likely be the thief. Unless they went in while the gate was open and then came out when someone else left.

What I was saying is I spent my money on an education instead of stuff that would go away. Because of my education I've been able to afford things. Had I spent money on frivolous luxuries WHEN I DIDN'T HAVE THE MONEY TO SPARE, I wouldn't have gotten the education. If you have the money for these things, wonderful. Spend it. You earned it. But if you don't have it, don't spend it. Don't go in debt in order to impress others. If you're doing without things that are of value to get your nails done or to have extensions, your priorities are in the wrong place. Isn't this what the -
There is also a legal diagnosis of "brain death", not just a medical diagnosis. it's not just one doctor saying "this patient is brain dead" based on one test. It is a rigorous diagnosis. These parents need to come to the acceptance of the fact that there is a difference between "living" and "existing". If she remains on life support she will simply exist.

Wow. I feel so left out. I'm 59 and haven't had any of those things yet. I did have false nails once. Miserable failure. I guess there's a lot to be said for getting an education, though. I did that instead of get extensions, have expensive salon visits, get fake nails or mani/pedis, get fake boobs (and I could have used them, too). Those other things go away. An education lasts. -

You really should put a "like" button on your posts. I'd give you a thousand of them if you did. Not to mention a higher standard of living than many in southwest Atlanta. -

For a FREAKIN' DOLL? Instead of calling them "American Girl" dolls, they should call them "American Princess" dolls. I haven't spent that kind of money on ME in the last ten years. -
I call my granddaughters the wrong names all the time. Then again, I used to call my kids the wrong name, too. Usually I called them the dog's name.

Up in the top left hand corner, does it say "apps"? Try clicking on that. They did change Chrome a while back. The toolbar is different.
